Abstract

This study explores gender differences in coping with marital stress, aiming to understand how men and women manage relational challenges. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research examines the coping strategies employed by couples experiencing marital stress, focusing on problem-focused, emotion-focused, and avoidant coping behaviors. The findings reveal that men predominantly use problem-focused coping, concentrating on resolving issues, while women are more likely to engage in emotion-focused strategies, seeking emotional support and expressing feelings. Additionally, marital satisfaction was identified as a key factor influencing the effectiveness of coping strategies, with higher satisfaction associated with more adaptive coping behaviors. The study emphasizes the importance of tailoring marital counseling to address gender-specific coping preferences and enhancing relationship satisfaction to improve stress management. The research concludes by suggesting further studies, including longitudinal and cross-cultural research, to deepen the understanding of marital stress coping over time and across diverse contexts.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of remote work on job stress and job satisfaction among employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. As organizations rapidly transitioned to remote work in response to the pandemic, employees experienced both positive and negative effects on their work-related well-being. The study aims to explore how the shift to remote work influenced employees' levels of stress and job satisfaction, considering factors such as work-life balance, autonomy, social isolation, and communication challenges. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through surveys and interviews from a diverse sample of employees working in various sectors. The findings reveal that while remote work enhanced job satisfaction by offering greater flexibility and autonomy, it also increased job stress due to blurred work-life boundaries and feelings of isolation. The study highlights the need for organizations to adopt flexible remote work policies that balance employee autonomy with adequate support systems to manage stress and maintain job satisfaction. These insights are critical for designing effective remote and hybrid work models that support employee well-being and productivity in future work environments.

Abstract

This research examines the relationship between democratic parenting patterns and the development of independence in school-age children. Democratic parenting, characterized by open communication, shared decision-making, and a balance of autonomy and guidance, is believed to foster greater self-reliance and autonomy in children. The study involved surveying parents and teachers to assess parenting styles and measure children's independence across various domains, including decision-making, self-regulation, and task completion. The findings reveal a positive correlation between democratic parenting and higher levels of independence in children, suggesting that children raised in environments that encourage their participation in decisions and provide supportive, respectful boundaries are more likely to exhibit greater independence. These results highlight the importance of fostering democratic parenting practices in both home and school settings to promote autonomy, self-confidence, and problem-solving abilities in children. The study’s implications suggest that parents, educators, and policymakers should collaborate to create environments that support the development of independence in children, emphasizing the benefits of democratic parenting for children's long-term growth and well-being.

Abstract

This research explores the influence of foreign languages in advertisements on public perception, examining how language choices impact consumer attitudes and behaviors in an increasingly globalized marketplace. Through a mixed-methods approach, including surveys and experimental studies, the research reveals that the use of foreign languages particularly English, French, and Spanish significantly enhances perceptions of sophistication, quality, and brand prestige. The findings indicate that cultural sensitivity is crucial, as consumer reactions vary based on demographic factors such as age, education level, and cultural background. Additionally, the study highlights the effectiveness of code-switching in engaging bilingual audiences, fostering emotional connections and relatability. However, it also underscores the importance of authenticity in language use, as missteps can lead to perceptions of inauthenticity or cultural insensitivity. The implications for advertising strategies emphasize the need for tailored marketing approaches that consider demographic diversity and cultural context. This research contributes to the understanding of how language functions within advertising, suggesting avenues for future studies on the long-term effects of foreign language use on brand loyalty and consumer behavior.

Abstract

This research investigates the role of social support in increasing the resilience of natural disaster victims. Natural disasters pose significant challenges to individuals, families, and communities, leading to widespread devastation and profound psychological and socioeconomic impacts. Drawing upon a mixed-methods approach, this study integrates quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to explore the complex dynamics underlying social support and resilience in disaster contexts. Quantitative analysis reveals significant associations between social support, resilience, and various indicators of psychological well-being among disaster survivors. Moreover, subgroup analyses highlight the differential effects of social support across demographic and disaster-related variables, suggesting the importance of considering individual differences and contextual factors in resilience-building efforts. Qualitative insights offer deeper understanding of the subjective experiences, perceptions, and coping mechanisms of disaster survivors in relation to social support. Participants describe the vital role of family, friends, neighbors, and community organizations in providing support and a sense of belonging in times of crisis. Theoretical implications of this research contribute to our understanding of resilience as a dynamic and multifaceted process shaped by social, psychological, and contextual factors. Practical implications inform interventions and programs aimed at supporting disaster survivors and promoting resilience in disaster contexts. Policy implications highlight the importance of integrating social support principles into disaster management policies and public health strategies.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of sibling presence on the development of empathy in only children living in urban areas. Empathy, a crucial component of emotional intelligence, is commonly believed to be influenced by sibling interactions through daily emotional exchanges and perspective-taking. However, the growing prevalence of only-child families in urban settings raises questions about how the absence of siblings affects empathy development. Using a quantitative cross-sectional design, this research involved 100 urban children aged 10–15, equally divided between only children and those with siblings. Data were collected through the Basic Empathy Scale and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results revealed that children with siblings scored significantly higher in emotional empathy, while cognitive empathy levels showed no substantial difference between the two groups. Additionally, peer interaction and parental involvement were positively correlated with empathy in only children, indicating that external social environments can compensate for the absence of sibling relationships. The study concludes that while siblings can enhance emotional empathy, only children are not inherently disadvantaged when supported by rich social experiences. The findings offer important implications for parenting practices, educational strategies, and social policy aimed at fostering emotional development in diverse family structures.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between the kinesthetic learning style and academic anxiety levels among high school students. As classrooms continue to favor visual and auditory teaching methods, students with a preference for kinesthetic learning those who learn best through movement and hands-on activities may struggle to adapt, potentially leading to increased academic anxiety. Using a quantitative correlational research design, data were collected from 200 high school students through the VARK Learning Styles Inventory and the Academic Anxiety Scale for Students (AASS). The results revealed a statistically significant positive correlation (r = 0.41, p < 0.01) between kinesthetic learning preference and higher academic anxiety levels. This suggests that students whose learning needs are not adequately addressed in traditional instructional settings are more prone to stress and emotional discomfort in academic situations. The findings highlight the importance of incorporating more inclusive, movement-based learning strategies into classroom instruction. Implications of the study point to the need for adaptive teaching approaches, improved classroom management strategies, and targeted support from school counselors to reduce academic anxiety and promote emotional well-being among kinesthetic learners.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of shadowing mentors on the work readiness of fresh graduates employed in private companies. Recognizing the challenges graduates face in adapting to professional environments such as limited practical experience, underdeveloped soft skills, and unfamiliarity with workplace norms this study explores how structured mentor shadowing can bridge the gap between academic learning and job performance. Utilizing a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational design, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 120 recent graduates who participated in mentor shadowing programs during their initial employment period. The findings reveal a strong positive correlation between the extent of shadowing experiences and levels of work readiness, particularly in areas such as adaptability, professionalism, communication, and task efficiency. Regression analysis further confirms that shadowing significantly contributes to improved workplace integration and productivity. These results align with both Experiential Learning Theory and Social Learning Theory, emphasizing the role of observation and real-world exposure in developing professional competencies. The study concludes that mentor shadowing is a valuable tool for enhancing graduate employability and easing the transition into the workforce. It highlights important implications for private companies, educational institutions, and policymakers in designing strategies that support graduate development and improve organizational outcomes through structured mentorship programs.

Abstract

In the era of digital intimacy, the trend of "soft launching" relationships subtly posting about a romantic partner on social media without revealing their full identity has become increasingly common among young adults. This study investigates the psychological and relational impact of this phenomenon on the health of romantic relationships. Using a qualitative approach, the research explores how the soft launch behavior reflects evolving boundaries between public and private life, and how it influences trust, communication, and emotional intimacy among couples. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and social media content analysis involving individuals aged 18–30 who actively engage in soft launching. The findings reveal that while soft launching can serve as a tool for privacy protection and gradual relationship disclosure, it may also lead to confusion, insecurity, and misaligned expectations when not accompanied by clear communication. The study highlights the importance of digital literacy and emotional awareness in navigating online relationship dynamics. Implications suggest the need for relationship education that addresses the intersection of digital behavior and emotional well-being, encouraging healthy social media practices that support rather than undermine intimacy.

Abstract

The rise of remote work, especially in the post-pandemic era, has significantly transformed workplace dynamics, offering flexibility while also introducing new psychological stressors. This study examines the impact of remote working fatigue on turnover intentions among Millennial employees a demographic known for its adaptability to digital workspaces yet also prone to burnout due to blurred work-life boundaries and increased screen time. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected through a structured survey distributed to Millennial professionals working remotely across various industries. The findings reveal a strong positive correlation between remote working fatigue and the intention to leave one’s job, indicating that sustained fatigue leads to emotional exhaustion and disengagement, ultimately influencing employees’ decisions to resign. This research contributes to the growing body of literature on post-pandemic work models by highlighting the importance of mental health and job satisfaction in virtual environments. The study offers practical recommendations for employers to develop remote work policies that mitigate fatigue, enhance engagement, and support long-term employee retention.
