Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the catch of Tor fish (Tor spp.) and Tor trower habitat condition (Tor spp.) in Upstream Wampu Basin of Langkat Regency of North Sumatera. Sampling was conducted for three months, from July to September 2017. Fish was caught with backpack electrofishing units. Water quality measurement was done in situ. The catch in the Berkail River was higher than the catch in the Bahorok River, because the Berkail River has more dense vegetation than the Bahorok River. Overall, the water condition in Upper DAS Wampu is still above the standard quality water quality threshold. Keywords: Catch, Water Condition, Tor Fish (Tor spp.)

Abstract

Aplication of silvofishery cultivation technique in TanjungRejo Village, PercutSei Tuan Sub District still not well managed. This happens because it enters The PaluhMerbau water source directly without water management process first. Remembering The PaluhMerbau is still intersect with Deli Estuary that has been polluted heavy metals then the autors are interested to do this research. This study aims to calculate the amount of heavy metal concentrationabsorbed by milkfishin Tanjung Rejo Village Percut Sei Tuan Subdistrict. This scientific report surveyed within a month in July 2017 and analyzed using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS).The result of UPT LPPMHP Medan test showed that the concentration of cadmium and lead on milkfish’s liver and milkfish’s gill has been contaminated by heavy metals cadmium and lead but still belowquality standards. Keywords: Heavy metal, cadmium, lead, milkfish and silvofishery.

Abstract

Tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of the most widely cultivated freshwater fish species in Indonesia. The main problem in the cultivation of tilapia fish is mostly caused by the high number of mortality at the larvae stage which is largely due to the unavailability of the right feed. Natural feed is the most suitable feed used as larvae feed because it is easily digested and contains proteins that support the growth of larvae. This study aims to determine the effect of different natural feeding on the growth and survival of tilapia larvae. The method used in this study was a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and three replications: Tubifex sp. (T), Daphnia sp. (D) and Infusoria (I). The results showed the highest growth was in the treatment Tubifex sp. (T) with a length of 2,1 cm and an increase of weight is 0,31 gram, followed by Daphnia sp. (D) with a length of 1,6 cm and an increase of weight is 0,24 gram, and the lowest growth was in the Infusoria (I) treatment with 1,3 cm in length and 0,21 gram weight increase. The highest survival rate was found in Tubifex sp. (T) 93,06 %, then Daphnia sp. (D) 90,28 %, and the lowest in Infusoria treatment (I) 84,72 %. Feeding with different natural feed effect the growth of fish, but do not effect the survival rate of tilapia fish larvae. Keywords : Natural Feed, Fish Tilapia Larvae, Growth, Survival

Abstract

Catfish (Clarias sp.) is one of the fresh water species that is economical and one of the main comodities of aquaculture in Indonesia. Fulfillment the increasing of needs of community required cultivation supported the availability of adequate larvae with efficiency of feed production cost with the right feeding frequencies. This research aims to know the influence of the frequency of natural feeding silk worm (Tubifex sp.) towards growth and survival of catfish larvae. The method used in this study was a complete randomized design (RAL) with three treatments and three replications, as follows: P1 (feeding frequency 3 times a day), P2 (feeding frequency 4 times a day) and P3 (feeding frequency 5 times a day). The result showed that the different feeding frequency treatment had a very significant effect on growth but did not significantly affect the survival of larvae of catfish. The best feeding frequency in increasing larval growth and survival of larvae is P3 (feeding frequency 5 times a day) treatment with larval length increase of 3.6 cm and weight increase of 0.928 g.Keywords : Larvae of Catfish, Silk Worm, Feeding Frequency, Growth, Survival

Abstract

Dumbo fish are economically valuable fish, consumer demand is high enough, but not yet accompanied by intensive and optimal effort. One attempt to overcome this problem by substituting commercial feed with Golden Snail flour which has a high enough protein content as a protein. This study aims to determine the effect of flour on commercial feed on the growth of dumbo fish seeds. Fish is a 5-6 cm dumbo fish kept in size of 45x20x20 cm as many as 9 units arranged randomly. The research design was carried out with three parts: P4K0 (100% commercial feed), P3K1 (75% commercial feed + 25% conch flour), and P2K2 (50% commercial feed + 50% conch flour). The results showed that the golden snail flour can be used as substitution in fish feed, where the best yielding feed is P2K2 (commercial feed 50% + mas 50% cloves) with the length of 3.16 cm and weight 6.71 g, with a value of Conversion ratio of 1.22 and an 80% lifetime value. Keywords: Clarias gariepinus, Golden Snail Flour, Growth, Feed Conversion Rate, Survival Rate
