Abstract

The research has been conducted in the Casanova River, on Biru-biru District, Deli Serdang Region, of North Sumatera. This research wash done by purposive sampling method and three different stations based on community activity, Sampling of This research consists of two ordos, two families, four genera and four spesies. The species obtained are Oreochromis niloticus, Hampala macrolepidota, Mystacoleucus marginatus, Barbodes schwanenfelldi. Based on the value of K (density), KR (relative density), and FK (frequency of attendance) at Station I, II, and III, the highest value was found at station I of 0,04 ind / m2, 77,42%, 0,77% with species of Oreochromis niloticus. Compared the other species was lowers index dominance at 0.92 ind / m2, and the uniformity index was found at 1,46 ind / m2. However index for all station was found Oreochromis niloticus higher at 68,51 %.Keywords: Fish, Diversity, Casanova River, Deli Serdang, Sumatera Utara.

Abstract

The infectious of ectoparasites has a harmful impact to mangrove crabs. This study aimed to know ectoparasites that infected mangrove crabs and determine the prevalence of ectoparasites that attack mud crabs. 10 crabs / pond were randomly taken from two pounds. Identification of Crab was conducted in Laboratory of Water Resource Management, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara. Parasite were observed in walking foot, swimming foot, claws, carapaks and gill of the crab. The result showed that 4 ectoparasites i.e Vorticella, Epistylis, Zoothamnium and Octolasmis were found from crabs of two ponds. Vorticella, Epistylis, and Octolasmis of Bagan Percut Ujung showed a relative high prevalence of 50%, while Octolasmis of Tangkahan Lagan Showed high Prevalence of 30%.Keywords: Ectoparasit, Mangrove Crab, Prevalence

Abstract

The water quality of River Lae Renun for aquaculture is based to the quality standard of PP. No. 82 year 2001 with Storet Method and Research Center and Development of Bogor Freshwater Aquaculture. The research was conducted in May - June 2017 at Lae Renun River. The method used is Purposive Sampling method. Sampling was done on every 3 stations. Physical,chemical and Biological parameters of Lae Renun River waters based on Research and Development Center of Bogor Freshwater Culture classified in the category of Light Polluted, where the waters of Lae Renun River is still suitable for aquaculture.Keywords :Water Quality, Jurung Fish Culture, River Lae Renun

Abstract

Rawai is a fishing gear with the target of demersal fishes. The purpose of this research is to know the operation of longline fishery unit in terms of the construction of fishing gear, the operation and the composition of the catch and to know the productivity of fishing gear and to analyze the feasibility of longline business used by Sialang Buah fishermen. This research was conducted in PPI Sialang Buah Teluk Mengkudu Subdistrict of Serdang Bedagai District of North Sumatera for one month that is in October 2017. The research results obtained some types of fish, among others: Pari (Gymnura japonica), White Kakap (Lates Calcalifer), Grouper Epinephulus sp), Manyung fish (Netuma thalassina), Gerpu fish, Jenahar fish, Aluh fish - aluh, Red Snapper (Lutjanus malabricus), Pepeh fish. The value of the catch rate in the longline fishing gear is 277.2 kg. Business analysis for Revenue-Cost Ratio (R / C) of 1.25 which means fishing business is feasible to continue and Payback Period (PP) value is 1.4 years.Keywords: Sialang Buah, longline fishing gear, catch composition, business analysis.

Abstract

Tongging is one of Lake Toba area which is used as a tourism area, ferry ports and floating net cage aquaculture activities which could effect water quality in Tongging. The research aims to determine the value of the parameter of physic, chemistry, biology and water quality based on the quality standard PP RI No. 82/2001 on water quality management and water pollution control. This research was done in Mei to Juni 2017. The study used purposive random sampling method. Station used consistend of the first station (port), the second station (cages), the third station (control). Value parameter of physics, chemistry and biology, among others temperature 24,6oC–26oC, TDS 135-145 mg/l, brightness 9,3-16,6 m, pH 6,3-7,3, DO 4,76-6,3 mg/l, BOD5 0,46-2,46 mg/l, nitrate 0,5 mg/l, phosphote 0,14-0,33 mg/l, total coliform 1053–3566 MPN/100ml. Water quality based on standard class one and class two is being internely polluter with respective value are -30 and -11, while based on standard class three is not polluted or meet quality standard value.Key Word : Water quality, Storet method, Tongging waters.

Abstract

Mantis Shrimp (Oratosquilla gravieri) is one of the water resources that has highly economic potential but in the waters of the Sei Tuan has not been optimally utilized. The research of morphometrics and meristir were used for identification, growth model analysis, and management efforts for Mantis Shrimp resourse. The research was conducted in December 2017 in the seawaters of the Percut Sei Tuan. Catching of shrimp was conducted on 3 stations with a total sample of 90 shrimps. The length of Mantis Shrimp that caught during the study was 8.10 cm to 16.9 cm. Correlation between morphometric characters is very strong with correlation coefficient (r) ranged from 0.774 to 0.992. In Mantis Shrimp meristic was obtained 4 to 6 pieces of thorns on telson, 6 thorns on dactylus and 0 to 2 thorns on propodus. Mantis Shrimp growth pattern in Percut water was negative allometric with b value ranged from 2.212 to 2.326 (b <3).Keywords : Morphometrics, Meristics, Water Quality, Mantis Shrimp, Percut Sei Tuan

Abstract

Kecombrang have chemical content such as saponins, flavonoids, polyphenols, essential oils, and saponins which maypotencial as antimicroba. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal concentration of kecombrang (Nicolaia speciosa) leaf extract to inhibit the growth of fish pathogenic fungi Saprolegnia sp. in gourami (Osphronemus gouramy). This research was conducted 3 months, from January to April 2017. Methanol, ethyl acetate and n - hexane were used as solvents for kecombrang leaf extraction. Assay on inhibitory of extract of kecombrang to Saprolegnia sp. used extract concentration of 0, 20, 40, and 60. Toxicity test (LC50) was conducted in gouramy at extract concentration of 1000, 100, 10, and 0 ppm. Water quality was observed icluding temperatute, DO, pH. The results showed that kecombrang leaf extract was reddish green, reddish brown, and yellowish green in color. Preliminary test of phytochemical compound of the extract showed that the extract contained saponins, tannins, and terpenes. The inhibitory test showed that ethyl acetate at concentration of 60% was able to inhibit up to 7.7 cm of the fungal growth. LC50 of methanol, ethylacetat, and n - hexane leaf extract was 25.4, 22.7, and 26.2 ppm, respectively. Temperature was 29 - 30 0C, DO was 7.0 - 7.2, and pH was 7.4 - 7.5 at the time of study.Keywords: inhibitory test, kecombrang, leaf extract, gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy), saponin, Saprolegnia sp.

Abstract

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the Length Weight Relationship (HPB) and Condition Factors of Tor Fish (Tor spp.) in Wampu River, Langkat River, North Sumatera Province, Indonesia. The sampling was This research used Post Facto Descriptive methos at two locations Bahorok and Berkail Rivers during three months July to September 2017. The research study show that the b value of Tor tambroides and Tor soro Fishes at Bahorok and Berkail river are among 0,297 until 0,328 or allometric negative with condition factor are among 0,01 until 1,00.Keywords: Tor spp., Lenght Weight Relationship, Condition Factor and Allometric negative

Abstract

This scientific report aim to analyze the growth patterns of Tupai shark (Chiloscylium hasselti) at Tanjungbalai Waters in Province of North Sumatera, Indonesia. This scientific report take survey methode during two months start from march until upril 2018. The result showed that the b value of Tupai shark is 0,269 or allometric negative with condition factor are among 0,0021 until 0,0140.Keywords: Chiloscylium hasselti, Allometric negative, Tanjungbalai.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelimpahan, distribusi, polapertumbuhan serta hubungan kelimpahan kepiting bakau Scylla tranquebarica dengan faktor fiskim di Perairan Estuari Suaka Margasatwa Karang Gading Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Pengambilan sampel Kepiting Bakau dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2017 – Februari 2018 dengan menggunakan bubu yang terbuat dari bahan bambu dan besi, dengan diameter 50 cm dan tinggi 15 cm. Pengambilan sampel kepiting bakaudilakukan sebulan sekali sekali mulai jam 08.00 WIB - 18.00 WIB. . Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa kelimpahan kepiting bakau paling banyak pada stasiun II dengan nilai 6 ind/m2, distribusi kepiting bakau tergolong ke dalam pola distribusi berkelompok. Pola pertumbuhan kepiting bakau pada tiap stasiunnya di perairan estuari Suaka Margasatwa Karang Gading adalah allometrik negatif. Faktor kondisi kepiting bakau di setiap stasiun secara morfologi memiliki kemontokan yang baik..Kata Kunci: Distribusi, estuari, pola pertumbuhan, Scylla tranquebarica.
