Abstract

The rapid development of technology has led to deviant behaviors among teenagers, such as dating, smoking or vaping, and bullying. Limited PAI learning in class makes ROHIS activities an important alternative for internalizing Islamic values among Gen Z students at SMA Negeri 1 Gemolong. This research aims to explain the internalization process of PAI values and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. The subjects are ROHIS members. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. Results show the internalization process through ROHIS aligns with the ROHIS Work Program Plan, including daily (WhatsApp channel), weekly (routine studies, mosque cleaning, and da'wah posters and videos), and annual programs (Ta'aruf, zakat management, Pesantren Kilat, Bukber and Sarasehan, Takjil distribution, training, grand study and talkshow, and social service). This aligns with ROHIS's vision and mission. Internalization occurs in three stages: 1) value transformation through WhatsApp, routine studies, da'wah posters and videos, Pesantren Kilat, training, and grand study; 2) value transaction through mosque cleaning, da'wah posters and videos, Ta'aruf, zakat management, Bukber and Sarasehan, Takjil distribution, and social service; 3) transinternalization of values, embedding morals towards Allah, humans, and the environment. Methods used include exemplary, habituation, motivation, and rule enforcement. Supporting factors include clear ROHIS vision and mission, support from coaches and PAI teachers, and internal motivation of ROHIS members. Inhibiting factors include suboptimal social media use and limited time and activity schedules.

Abstract

Islamic educational institutions played an important role in the development of education and the renewal of Islamic thought in Indonesia, especially during the early twentieth century when various reform movements emerged in social, religious, and educational fields. Among the influential organizations were Jami’at Khair and Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah, which established educational institutions to meet the Muslim community’s need for a more organized and modern educational system while maintaining Islamic values. Both organizations introduced reforms in teaching systems, curriculum development, and the management of Islamic education in order to adapt to the changing times. This study aims to examine the background of the establishment of Jami’at Khair and Al-Irsyad educational institutions, the educational systems implemented, and their contributions to the development of Islamic education in Indonesia. The research employed a qualitative method with a historical approach through library research using books, journals, and historical documents as sources. The findings show that both institutions played a major role in the modernization of Islamic education through the implementation of more structured educational systems, the integration of religious and general sciences within the curriculum, and the application of more systematic and rational teaching methods. Furthermore, these institutions contributed to shaping a generation of Muslims with strong religious understanding, open-minded perspectives, and the ability to adapt to social and intellectual developments of their time.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Musical Storytelling as a form of learning innovation in improving student learning motivation and academic achievement in the subject of Islamic Cultural History (ISCH). The approach used was library research, reviewing, selecting, and analyzing various relevant literature sources on storytelling techniques, the use of music in learning, and the characteristics of ISCH learning. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify interconnections between concepts and develop a comprehensive theoretical synthesis. The results of the study indicate that the application of Musical Storytelling, which combines musical elements with storytelling techniques, can provide a more lively, engaging, and meaningful learning experience. This method not only increases student attention and engagement but also helps strengthen student understanding of historical material and encourages increased motivation and academic achievement. Therefore, Musical Storytelling can be used as an alternative ISCH learning strategy that is innovative, humanistic, and relevant to the needs of modern learning.

Abstract

Knowledge is an essential aspect of human life that plays a significant role in the development of civilization and the attainment of well-being. In the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith, knowledge is not only seen as a means for worldly progress but also as a path to achieving happiness in the afterlife. This article seeks to analyze the role of knowledge from the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith and to address the question of how influential it is in both worldly and eternal life. This study employs a qualitative approach by examining Qur'anic verses and Hadiths related to knowledge. The findings indicate that the Qur'an and Hadith emphasize the importance of knowledge as a key to achieving goodness in both this world and the hereafter. In Islam, knowledge serves a dual function: as a provision for facing worldly challenges and as a means to earn rewards and draw closer to Allah in the hereafter. Therefore, knowledge, from the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith, has a profound influence in guiding Muslims to lead a life of wisdom and serves as a form of worship that brings positive benefits both in this world and in the hereafter.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the important role of family support in improving Islamic Education (PAI) achievement among elementary school students through social support, parental aspirations, and learning practices at home. The study aimed to describe the forms of family social support in PAI learning, explain parental aspirations toward children’s Islamic education achievement, analyze home-based PAI learning practices, and identify the relationship between family support, parental aspirations, and students’ PAI achievement. This research employed a qualitative field study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving students, parents, Islamic Education teachers, and homeroom teachers. The findings showed that family support played a significant role in improving PAI achievement through learning assistance, supervision of worship activities, Qur’an recitation habits, and learning motivation. Parents’ aspirations were not only focused on academic achievement but also on the development of religious character and Islamic morals. Regular home-based PAI learning practices contributed to improving students’ discipline, motivation, and understanding of Islamic Education materials. The study concludes that successful PAI learning is influenced by the synergy between family, school, and social environment. Therefore, strong collaboration between parents and schools is needed to support children’s religious education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the urgency of moral and character education among female students (santriwati) at Ma’had Al Bayyinah Tambun Selatan and its implementation in daily life. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collected through literature study, observation, and interviews involving approximately 50% of the students. The results show that most students understand morality as good behavior and proper manners, although some still lack deeper understanding. Almost all respondents consider moral education to be very important, even obligatory. The implementation of moral values is reflected in daily activities such as respecting teachers, maintaining polite speech, and being disciplined. The findings also indicate that the ma’had environment plays a significant role in shaping students’ character, while peer influence is the most dominant factor. Therefore, continuous guidance and a supportive environment are needed to strengthen moral education.

Abstract

Globalization has significantly influenced various aspects of human life, including educational practices and perspectives on religious values. One of the prominent developments within this context is the spread of liberalism, a worldview that emphasizes individual freedom and rational thinking. Its growing influence has created both opportunities and challenges for Islamic education. On the one hand, liberal ideas encourage critical thinking and openness to scientific advancement. On the other hand, they may contribute to perspectives and practices that are not always in harmony with the fundamental teachings of Islam. This study examines the influence of liberalism on Islamic education in the era of globalization and explores the challenges as well as the responses developed by Islamic educational institutions. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through library research, drawing on scholarly articles indexed in SINTA and Scopus published within the last five years. The findings indicate that liberalism affects students' perspectives through the expansion of unrestricted freedom of thought, moral relativism, secular tendencies in education, and the growing influence of global digital culture. These developments have implications for the weakening of religious values, the emergence of moral challenges, and a shift toward more pragmatic educational orientations. In response, Islamic education needs to strengthen faith-based and character education, integrate scientific knowledge with the values of tawhid, and promote Islamic digital literacy. The study highlights the importance of maintaining the core principles of Islamic education while adapting to the demands and realities of a rapidly changing global environment.
