Abstract

Indonesia is known as a diverse country with a variety of religions, ethnicities, cultures, customs, and languages. However, behind this gift, there are differences in views in responding to issues, especially regarding religious issues. Differences in views will later give rise to acts of intolerance, hatred, extremism, and radicalism, and ultimately lead to divisions between religious communities. Therefore, as an effort to maintain harmony between religious communities, religious moderation, and mental revolution are present as effective steps that will give birth to solutions for maintaining the diversity that exists in Indonesia. This research aims to find verses from the Qur'an about mental revolution and religious pluralism as well as solutions to religious moderation in mental revolution to address the phenomenon of religious pluralism. By using qualitative research methods and literature, findings were produced as solutions for maintaining diversity in Indonesia, namely (1) Aligning Pancasila with Qur'anic values; (2) Diversity must be managed well; (3) Religious Leaders must Set a Good Example (Socio-Institutional Approach); (4) Prioritizing a sense of protecting the nation and state; (5) Taking a Cultural Approach (Dialogue)

Abstract

The Lebak Regency spatial planning plan was prepared based on Lebak Regency Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2014 concerning the Lebak Regency Regional Spatial Plan for 2014-2034 with the aim of creating a highly competitive and sustainable Regency regional space based on agriculture, plantations, tourism and mining. To realize this, spatial planning is needed based on the principles of spatial planning contained in Article 2 of Law Number 26 of 2007 concerning Spatial Planning. The research method used is the normative juridical method. The normative juridical method is defined as research on statutory rules, both from the perspective of the statutory hierarchy (vertical) and the harmonious relationship of legislation (horizontal). The purpose of this writing is to find out how the application of spatial planning principles in the Lebak Regency Spatial Planning Plan for Mining Activities in the Mount Liman Area is Reviewed Based on Law Number 26 of 2007 concerning Spatial Planning. Based on the results of the discussion, it can be concluded that the regional government has attempted to control spatial planning and supervision of illegal gold mining in Lebak Regency. Regulations for mining activities in Lebak Regency Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2014 concerning Lebak Regency Spatial Planning for 2014-2034. Article 64 paragraph (5) letter c does not allow mining in protected areas. However, there is a discrepancy in the application of spatial planning principles in the 2014-2034 Lebak Regency Regional Spatial Plan, namely consisting of the principle of integration, the principle of harmony, harmony and balance, the principle of sustainability, the principle of efficiency and effectiveness as well as the principle of legal certainty and justice. This is due to the determination of the Cirinten sub-district area as a mining area.

Abstract

In the context of conflict, the responsibility to educate the public is not only in the hands of the government but also in the media institutions. Quality and objective media reports significantly contribute to increasing public literacy and knowledge. The problem is that news about conflict in online news media often emphasizes conflict controversy and the sadness of victims, but is incomplete and too short in explaining the conflict events that occurred. This research aims to reveal how the commodification of reporting on the Syrian conflict emerged and developed in online news media. This research data comes from online news published by hürriyet.com.tr as online news media. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis within the framework of a media political economy study which looks at the relationship between new media and conflict, the characteristics of news in online news media, as well as the tendency for the commodification of conflict news which can give negative impact on society in the long term. The results of the study show that in reporting on the Syrian conflict, economic interests are more prominent than the application of journalism principles which should be complete, this can be seen from the shortness of the news presented and the conflict that occurred is not presented holistically.

Abstract

For many countries, taxes are the main source of revenue to finance all expenditures, including the promotion of economic growth. To compare the tax systems of different countries, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has developed the International Tax Competitiveness Index (ITCI). This study examines Türkiye and Indonesia’s tax policies, focusing on their influence on economic competitiveness and tax neutrality. This study identifies the strengths and weaknesses of each country's tax system and provides recommendations for enhancing their competitiveness and neutrality. This study uses a comparative approach to analyse tax policies in Türkiye and Indonesia. The analysis reveals that a neutral tax code is crucial for economic growth and for attracting investment. Türkiye's tax system offers insights into efficient tax structures, with lower corporate tax rates and non-distortionary property taxes contributing to its higher ranking in the ITCI. Conversely, Indonesia's tax system presents opportunities for improvement by adopting similar practices. This study suggests that Indonesia could benefit from targeted tax incentives, better tax administration, and investment in tax education and training. Broadening the tax base and leveraging digital technologies for tax administration have been identified as key strategies to improve Indonesia's tax competitiveness. The study concludes that both Türkiye and Indonesia can enhance their tax systems by learning from each other and countries with high tax competitiveness rankings. By implementing the recommended measures, these countries can stimulate economic growth, investment, and achieve a more competitive and neutral tax

Abstract

Pineapple is a tropical fruit that has various benefits for human health. However, determining the ripeness of pineapple is not easy, especially for inexperienced consumers. This study aims to develop a computer vision system that can automatically identify the ripeness of pineapple based on its peel color and texture. We use the YOLO v8 algorithm, a state-of-the-art object detection model, to detect and classify pineapple images into three categories: unripe, ripe, and overripe. We collect and label our own dataset of 1386 pineapple images with different ripeness levels. We train and test the YOLO v8 model on our dataset using Google Colab. We evaluate the model’s performance using accuracy. The results show that the YOLO v8 model achieves an accuracy of 84.75%. These results indicate that the YOLO v8 model can effectively detect and classify pineapple ripeness with high accuracy and speed. This system can be useful for consumers, farmers, and retailers to select and purchase high-quality pineapples.

Abstract

The paper presents an extensive exploration of the utilization of biochar derived from indigenous biomass as a sustainable solution in West Sumatra, Indonesia. The region, abundant in diverse biomass resources, offers substantial prospects for the production and application of biochar. This paper aims to elucidate the accessible biomass reservoirs within the area, expound upon the biochar production process, and study its various applications in overcoming sustainability problems. A comprehensive assessment of existing literature and case studies is conducted to scrutinize the feasibility and impact of biochar application across multiple domains, notably in agriculture, waste management, and environmental conservation. Through this analysis, the study strives to uncover the potential benefits and challenges associated with integrating biochar technology into various facets of West Sumatra's landscape. Furthermore, the paper undertakes an evaluation of the environmental advantages and economic implications attributed to the adoption of biochar technology within the region. This evaluation encompasses discussions on the technology's capacity to curtail greenhouse gas emissions and enhance soil fertility, thereby contributing to the overall ecological balance and agricultural productivity. By identifying key challenges and opportunities, this study endeavors to furnish recommendations targeted at policymakers, stakeholders, and the local community. These recommendations aim to facilitate and encourage the widespread adoption of biochar as a sustainable solution in West Sumatra. Such adoption is envisioned as a pivotal step towards the preserving of the local environment while concurrently fostering socio-economic development within the region. Ultimately, the study seeks to underscore  the potential transformative impact of biochar  technology as a catalyst  for  environmental preservation and sustainable growth in West Sumatra, Indonesia.
