Abstract

Education is an essential process aimed at developing the individual’s potential holistically, encompassing intellectual, emotional, and social aspects. The School of Nature, as an innovative approach to education, uses nature as the primary learning medium, offering relevant contextual experiences for students. SMP Sekolah Alam Bireuen (SABIR) implements the "Learning Together with Nature" (BBA) method, which invites students to learn through direct interaction with their surrounding environment. This approach aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice, while enhancing the understanding of mathematical concepts, including the Pythagorean Theorem. The Pythagorean Theorem, often considered abstract, can be taught more applicably through nature-based learning. This study uses the Systematic Review (SR) method to analyze literature related to the integration of the Pythagorean Theorem in BBA. The analysis results show that nature-based contextual approaches are effective in improving students' mathematical understanding, while also providing an enjoyable and meaningful learning experience. Students not only learn theory but also apply mathematical concepts in the field, such as measuring the sides of right-angled triangles, thus enhancing their understanding and problem-solving skills. This approach also instills values such as cooperation, responsibility, and environmental love, which support the holistic development of student competencies. This research is expected to serve as a reference for the development of nature-based learning methods in the context of more contextual and applicable mathematics education

Abstract

Graph theory is used to represent discrete objects and the relationships between them. One of its applications is scheduling through graph coloring. Scheduling duty shifts for an organizational secretariat often becomes a complex problem due to the varying class schedules of members. This article aims to implement graph coloring to arrange the duty schedule for HIMATIKA UNG using the Welch-Powell algorithm. This algorithm works by assigning different colors to adjacent vertices (representing members from the same class), resulting in a graph coloring with the minimum number of colors. The implementation results show that the chromatic number obtained is 6, representing six duty groups that do not overlap. This approach produces an optimal schedule that aligns with the academic schedules of HIMATIKA UNG members. The advantage of this algorithm lies in its efficiency in solving the problem and preventing overlapping schedules among members from the same class. The coloring process begins with the vertex of the highest degree as the initial step

Abstract

This study aimed to optimize the profit of ikat weaving production in Ternate Village, Alor Regency using the simplex method. The research focused on four types of woven products produced by the Pantai Laut weaving group, namely ikat sarongs, ikat shawls, ikat blankets, and a combination of blankets and shawls. The problem of maximizing production profit was formulated using linear programming and solved with the simplex method, supported by QM for Windows software. Primary data were obtained through direct interviews and observations with weavers to identify product prices and material costs. The mathematical model included an objective function to maximize profit and constraints based on the availability of three types of threads: cotton, misrais, and machine thread. The results showed that by using the available resources—22 heads of cotton thread, 25 heads of misrais thread, and 15 heads of machine thread—the optimal combination of products could yield a profit of IDR 4,255,000, with a total potential sales value of IDR 4,970,000. This finding demonstrates that mathematical optimization methods like the simplex method are effective tools for small-scale industries to allocate limited resources efficiently and increase income

Abstract

The concept of the locating rainbow connection number in a graph is an innovation in graph coloring theory that combines the ideas of rainbow vertex coloring and partition dimension in graphs. This concept aims to determine the smallest positive integer such that there exists a locating rainbow -coloring of the graph, allowing each vertex to have a unique rainbow code. In this study, we investigate the locating rainbow connection number of the triangle snake graph. The method employed involves analyzing the graph’s structure and constructing rainbow vertex-paths that ensure the uniqueness of the rainbow code for each vertex. The results show that, for graphs of order greater than five, the locating rainbow vertex-connection number of a triangle snake graph is equal to the number of cut-vertices in the graph

Abstract

This study discusses the rainbow connection number of pan graphs. The concept of rainbow connection is one of the important topics in graph theory related to edge coloring, where a path connecting any pair of vertices must consist of edges with distinct colors. Determining the rainbow connection number is relevant in the fields of network optimization, communication security, and the design of efficient transportation routes. In this research, a structural analysis approach of pan graphs is employed to determine the lower and upper bounds, as well as to obtain the exact value of the rainbow connection number. The results reveal a specific connectivity pattern in pan graphs that affects the minimum number of colors required
