Abstract

The purification process to increase the nickel content is carried out in a Pierce Smith converter through several stages, including charging, blowing, skimming, dry up, and casting, resulting in a nickel matte with a 75-78% nickel content. After casting, the nickel matte is stored in ladles, with each converter being able to accommodate the casting of 7 ladles, each with a capacity of about 15.5 tons. These ladles are made of carbon steel with a brick lining, consisting of castables on the walls and alumina brick on the bottom. Repeated pouring of matte into the ladles can cause surface erosion due to high heat input and matte friction, as well as chemical issues such as build-up. The refractory material in these ladles will undergo a total relining scheme, resulting in waste brick classified as B3 waste. The potential of the waste brick in the ladles is still quite high in producing residual nickel matte in a homogenized form. Therefore, the waste brick from the ladles will be considered to be mixed with ICP Boat with specific composition and distribution. The resulting mixture will be used as feed in the converter purification process by reviewing the variation of the waste brick to ICP Boat ratio using FactSage software simulation and validating the results through field experiments. Abstract

The heap leach method is one of the cyanidation processes suitable for low-grade ore and PT J Resources Bolaang Mongondow uses this method in its processing. Column test is the most representative testwork of the heap leach process, but this testwork requires a long time so a faster testwork is needed and can provide %extraction value even though it is less representative and bottle roll test (BRT) is a solution for this. This study aims to estimate the % extraction obtained in cells by the BRT method. From the experimental results, it was obtained that the %extraction value of HG 01 samples at +12, +6, and -6 sizes was 67.1%, 79.2%, and 92.4%, respectively. for LG 02 samples of 68.3%, 81.5%, and 93.9%, for LG 03 samples of 54.5%, 90.6%, and 89.6%, respectively, these three samples are categorized as med-high extraction. While the LG 04 sample was 67.3%, 66.3%, 84.8% and categorized as low extraction.

Abstract

PT. Jhonlin Baratama merupakan salah satu perusahaan kontraktor yang bergerak dalam bidang penambangan batubara yang memiliki beberapa site di kabupaten Tanah Bumbu. Dalam kegiatan penambangan batubara, PT. Jhonlin Baratama menggunakan metode penambangan open pit dengan pengoperasian peralatan mekanis seperti backhoe untuk pemuatan dan Dump truck untuk pe ngangkutan. Masing-masing alat mempunyai target produktivitas yang belum tercapai. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi mengapa target produktivitas tidak tercapai. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan pengambilan data langsung di lapangan beserta kondisi aktual di lapangan. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan dan perhitungan, untuk alat muat Excavator Komatsu PC 2000 dengan 5 unit Komatsu HD 785 adalah 714,12 Bcm/Jam dengan nilai Match Factor 1,025, dan jarak tempuh HD 785 adalah 1.1 km. Nilai efisiensi PC 2000 rata-rata 81% dengan fill factor 78%. Setelah dilakukan simulasi dengan jarak yang sama berdasarkan kebutuhan alat angkut produktivitas Excavator Komatsu PC 2000 menghasilkan sebesar 879,28 Bcm/jam dengan efisiensi yaitu 88% dan fill factor 83%.

Abstract

Hauling is a very important process in the mining industry. Transport activities are not only carried out at the mine front, but there is also the transport of processed materials such as transporting gold ore from the crushing plant to the dumping area. The heavy equipment used in this process is divided into two, namely loading equipment and transportation equipment. The loading equipment used is a volumetric loader, while the transportation equipment used is a medium dump truck with a vessel capacity of 40 tons. This moving activity certainly requires determining the number of transport equipment to balance the productivity of the loading equipment used by analyzing the units used. Productivity analysis is very necessary to determine the achievement of a production which will also be influenced by the match factor between loading equipment and transportation equipment. The data used in the productivity analysis include gold ore production from the crushing plant, dump truck specifications, transportation equipment circulation time, obstacle time, and working hours obtained based on observations in the field. Determining the number of transport equipment units to serve the production of loading equipment has been carried out, but conditions in the field sometimes still result in queues of transport equipment and idle loading equipment. This resulted in the production target of moving gold ore not being achieved. Factors in the field that can influence include unfavorable weather and climate, the need for mechanical equipment operators and equipment repairs during operating hours. This has an impact on reducing the level of production achievement. The productivity results obtained by assuming that the resistance time factor was eliminated resulted in an increase in productivity of 9.78% compared to actual productivity, with an optimal number of dump trucks totaling 11 units. Abstract

Alat angkut memainkan peran kunci dalam proses pengangkutan (hauling) material tambang. Dalam kegiatan pengangkutan, tidak akan luput dari kendala-kedala teknis, salah satu kendala teknis pada pengangkutan material adalah adanya beban mati (dead load). Besaran beban mati ini dapat mempengaruhi total produksi alat angkut di setiap trip pengangkutan material. Dalam hal ini, indeks beban mati adalah faktor penting yang mempengaruhi kinerja alat angkut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh indeks beban mati (dead load index) terhadap produksi alat angkut pada kegiatan penambangan nikel laterit serta faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi indeks beban mati di lokasi penelitian. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, yaitu dengan cara melakukan pengamatan dan pengambilan data dilapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, persentase beban mati pada produksi yaitu sebesar 8% dari total produksi pada saat melakukan penelitian tersebut. Untuk perbandingan pembersihan tiap 1, 5 dan 10 trip maka pembersihan per 10 trip yang paling efektif untuk mendapatkan produksi yang optimal mungkin dengan kebutuhan waktu yang relatif lebih rendah. Beberapa faktor penyebab beban mati adalah material yang basah, bak truk yang mengandung air dan tidak dilakukan pembersihan secara berkala.
