Abstract

The low level of Qur’anic literacy is often rooted in methodological stagnation that traps students in textual boredom. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the simulation method in improving students’ Qur’anic reading and writing skills (Baca Tulis Al-Qur’an/BTA) at MTs Negeri Batu Bara Regency. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles involving 36 students as research participants. Data collection instruments consisted of cognitive-practical ability tests and observation sheets assessing teacher and student activities. The findings demonstrated a highly significant and progressive improvement in learning outcomes. The class average score increased from 55.83 in the pre-cycle stage to 75.83 in Cycle I, and reached 89.72 at the end of Cycle II. Classically, the learning mastery percentage rose sharply from 36.11% to 94.44%, indicating that the simulation method successfully transformed theoretical understanding into well-established motoric competencies. This study concludes that the simulation method is effective in addressing the challenges of Qur’anic reading and writing instruction through strengthening habituation aspects (ta‘wid) and encouraging active student engagement. The implications of these findings recommend the use of simulation as a primary instructional strategy for madrasah educators to enhance Qur’anic literacy standards in an applicative and sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers’ strategies in shaping students’ moral character through their roles as role models, mentors, advisors, and inspirers at MTs Al-Jam’iyatul Washliyah. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with Aqidah Akhlak teachers and students, as well as field documentation. The findings reveal that the integration of teachers’ roles as role models and mentors has a significant impact on students’ discipline in vertical worship practices (morality toward Allah SWT) and obedience to authority (morality toward teachers and parents). However, the study also uncovers a disconnection in horizontal behavior, where peer interactions and personal integrity still demonstrate tendencies toward deviant conduct due to external environmental influences and low self-resilience. Data analysis concludes that methods of religious habituation and contextual advice are effective in fostering ritual awareness, yet require further reinforcement in the teacher’s role as an inspirer to stimulate students’ intrinsic motivation. The implications of this study emphasize the necessity of synergy between teachers’ reflective practices and intensive collaboration with parents in order to bridge the gap between formal obedience and authentic character awareness. This research contributes to the development of a morality-based teacher professionalism model within the ecosystem of contemporary Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the habitual recitation of Al-Ma’ṯūrāt on students’ learning psychology. A stable and calm psychological condition constitutes a fundamental prerequisite for the optimal absorption of academic material; however, this condition is often hindered by students’ anxiety and lack of concentration. Employing an associative quantitative approach, data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to 24 seventh-grade students at SMP IT Al-Ikhawan. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, Product Moment correlation analysis, and significance testing (t-test). The findings indicate that students perceived the habitual recitation of Al-Ma’ṯūrāt as providing emotional and mental tranquility. These results demonstrate that the habituation of Al-Ma’ṯūrāt recitation has a significant effect on enhancing students’ psychological calmness and mental readiness for learning. The implications of this study emphasize that the integration of religious activities should not merely be viewed as a formal routine, but rather as an effective classroom management instrument for creating a conducive learning environment. Furthermore, this practice serves as a strategic medium for fostering students’ self-confidence and internalizing positive learning intentions.

Abstract

Student disciplinary infractions in Madrasah yield complex socio-pedagogical implications, necessitating the development of robust models and strategic interventions for their resolution. This study aims to explain the religious coping strategies implemented by Aqidah Akhlak teachers in handling student delinquency at MTs Taman Pendidikan Islam Medan. This research employed a qualitative approach using a field study design. Data were collected through open and closed interviews with teachers and students as key informants, as well as observations of various religious habituation activities within the madrasah environment. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the religious coping strategy in this madrasah was systematically developed through the identification of various forms of student delinquency, which were subsequently addressed through the establishment of religious habituation programs such as the recitation of Asmaul Husna, morning religious talks (kultum), Qur’anic recitation (tadarus Al-Qur’an), congregational prayers, and tahfidzul Qur’an. These programs function as mechanisms for strengthening spiritual values that are not only preventive and corrective in nature, but also contribute to the formation of a sustainable religious ecosystem within school life. This study contributes to the understanding that religious coping practices play a significant role in strengthening students’ moral and psychological resilience in overcoming delinquent behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation strategy of the School of Leadership program and the internalization of leadership values among students at SMA IT Daarul Istiqlal. Student leadership is often reduced to formal organizational activities, thereby necessitating an in-depth examination of how leadership is developed through integrative learning experiences. This research employed a case study design with a qualitative-descriptive approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the principal, teachers, and students, as well as through in-depth observations. Data analysis was conducted systematically through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the internalization of leadership values was carried out through three main pillars: integration into classroom learning activities through the experiential learning method, reinforcement through extracurricular activities, and the provision of dialogical spaces through school community communication forums (FKGM and FKWS). A strong organizational culture emerged as the primary supporting factor that transformed students’ motivation from external pressure into intrinsic needs. Despite challenges related to academic time management, the program successfully transformed students’ perceptions into those of change agents characterized by independence, empathy, and social responsibility. This study implies the importance of creating a dialogical school ecosystem to foster transformational leadership in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The thought of Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah is positioned as a theoretical lens for re-examining the concept of child education in a holistic and integrative manner. This study aims to systematically describe the concept of tarbiyah in Ibn Qayyim’s thought and to construct its relevance to parenting practices in Muslim families. The research employed a library research method by using Ibn Qayyim’s works as primary sources, supported by secondary literature in the form of books, scientific journal articles, and other relevant academic sources. Data were analyzed using a descriptive-analytical approach through the stages of data reduction, thematic categorization, narrative presentation, and conceptual conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that Ibn Qayyim’s concept of tarbiyah establishes a comprehensive system of child education encompassing seven interrelated dimensions: tarbiyah imaniyyah (faith education), ruhiyyah (spiritual education), fikriyyah (intellectual education), khuluqiyyah (moral education), ijtimā‘iyyah (social education), badaniyyah (physical education), and jinsiyyah (sexual education), all of which are integrated in shaping the child’s holistic personality. Education, therefore, is understood as a process of forming existential awareness that connects spiritual, intellectual, moral, social, and biological dimensions within a unified educational framework. This study emphasizes that parenting in Islam constitutes a comprehensive process of instilling educational values from early childhood. Thus, the contribution of this study lies in reconstructing classical Islamic thought into a more applicable, contextual, and transformative discourse on contemporary parenting for strengthening Muslim family education.
