Abstract

Islamic character education faces dual challenges: declining moral values among students and conventional teaching methods inadequate for developing higher-order thinking skills. This study examines the implementation of a smart learning environment (SLE) model to enhance metacognitive understanding in Aqidah Akhlak (Islamic Creed and Ethics) instruction among eighth-grade students at MTs Nurul Falah Sugiharjo Tuban. Employing a mixed-methods action research design, involved 16 eighth-grade students divided into two groups. Data collection utilized classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and learning documentation. The SLE model integrated Google Classroom, interactive video content, WhatsApp Group discussions, and Google Forms assessments to create a technology-enhanced learning ecosystem. Findings revealed substantial improvements in students' metacognitive capacities: planning skills increased from 25% to 75%, monitoring abilities rose from 31% to 81%, and evaluation competencies grew from 19% to 69%. Students demonstrated enhanced learning autonomy, active participation in collaborative discussions, and improved self-reflection on content comprehension. The SLE approach successfully fostered engaging learning experiences while facilitating deeper internalization of Islamic ethical values. However, implementation encountered constraints including limited technological infrastructure and varied digital literacy levels among students. This research underscores the critical need for developing teachers' digital competencies and strengthening madrasah technological infrastructure to optimize technology-integrated Islamic education.

Abstract

This article discusses social epistemology as a foundation for understanding the acquisition and validation of knowledge in a social context. The main issues examined include the dualism between subjectivity and objectivity and its impact on social science research methodology. Using a literature review method based on data collected from various digital scientific journal articles, this study shows that subjectivity emphasizes individual and relative experiences but risks triggering reactivity and social desirability bias. Conversely, objectivity focuses on universal facts but is susceptible to confirmation bias. This article concludes that social science researchers must maintain professional distance and apply rigorous methodological controls to minimize distortions of reality and ensure the credibility of research findings.

Abstract

Urban Generation Z faces social space fragmentation and an existential crisis, creating a need for spiritual spaces that are inclusive and non-doctrinal. However, the rigidity of conventional da'wah institutions creates a psychological distance that widens the gap between their spiritual needs and available religious facilities. This study aims to examine the transformation of contemporary da'wah spaces through spatial, methodological, and cultural reconstruction, using the Himmah Community as a case study. Employing a descriptive qualitative case study design, primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with the founder and study participants, as well as participatory observation. Secondary data were obtained from a visual document analysis of Himmah's official Instagram account. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings reveal three key results. First, digital branding and earth-tone visual aesthetics function as gatekeeping mechanisms that dissolve Generation Z's initial resistance to religious forums. Second, the transformation of physical space from formal institutions to residential homes—specifically, a family room without a pulpit—democratizes religious authority and fosters egalitarian, dialogical da'wah relations. Third, the integration of multisensory sessions in the form of open table after study sessions serves as an incubation vehicle for a space of belonging while simultaneously building social capital. These findings expand the discourse of the sociology of religion by affirming that the sustainability of da'wah for urban Generation Z is determined not by institutional scale, but by cultural adaptation, intimate spatial engineering, and the management of social inclusivity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Sharia communication ethics in the production processes of the Sport Today and Live Studio MotoGP programs at MNC Channels. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation during an internship, documentation (specifically program scripts), and a literature review concerning Islamic communication ethics and broadcasting media. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that Sharia communication ethics principles have been applied in the program production process, particularly the principle of qaulan sadidan (truthful and accurate speech) through the verification of information from official sources prior to broadcast. Furthermore, the principles of qaulan balighan (effective and impactful speech) and qaulan maysura (gentle and easy-to-understand speech) are reflected in the drafting of scripts that are informative, communicative, and accessible to the audience. However, the application of the qaulan ma’rufan principle (kind and appropriate speech) faces challenges due to media industry demands that encourage the use of dramatic and sensational language to enhance program appeal. Production deadline pressures also hinder the optimization of the information verification process. The study concludes that Sharia communication ethics values remain relevant and applicable to sports program production in modern broadcasting media. Implementing Islamic communication principles can foster content that is not only engaging and informative but also socially and morally responsible. Therefore, a stronger commitment from media practitioners and broadcasting institutions is required to sustainably integrate Sharia communication ethics values into the content production process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic communication in building teamwork between Production Assistant (PA) and Creative teams at MNCTV SPORT. The research is motivated by the importance of effective communication in television sports production which is characterized by high work pressure, fast coordination, and professional demands. Islamic communication values are considered important in creating harmonious and productive teamwork in media organizations. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation during the internship process at MNCTV SPORT. The research subjects consisted of Production Assistants, Creative teams, and production coordinators directly involved in sports program production. The findings show that Islamic communication plays an important role in building teamwork through the implementation of honesty (shiddiq), responsibility (amanah), deliberation (musyawarah), politeness, and mutual respect. Islamic communication values improve work coordination, minimize miscommunication, and create a professional work environment. The study also found that Islamic communication values are applied not only in formal production communication but also in daily interactions among team members. This research contributes to the development of Islamic communication studies in television media industries, especially in teamwork within sports broadcasting production.
