Abstract

Restaurants can potentially cause health problems or illness, even food poisoning. Restaurants have tables where food is served. Bacterial contamination can be caused by improper and unhealthy food presentation. Kaffir lime leaf essential oil as a natural medicine can stop bacterial growth. This study aims to determine how the use of kaffir lime leaf essential oil (Citrus hystrix) has an impact on reducing the number of germs found on dining tables in restaurants in Pantai Baru Yogyakarta. This study used the True Experiment method with the Pretest Posttest with Control Group design. The research was conducted from February to April 2024. The samples used were 24 dining tables from each of the 8 restaurants, each with 3 dining tables for each restaurant. After using kaffir lime leaf essential oil spray disinfectant showed a decrease in the number of germs on the dining table at a concentration of 15% by 68.61%, a concentration of 20% by 73.76%, and a control by 53.95%. Statistical analysis shows that the use of kaffir lime leaf essential oil spray disinfectant can reduce the number of germs. The use of kaffir lime leaf essential oil (Citrus hystrix) with a concentration of 15% and 20% reduces the number of germs on the dining table at Pantai Baru restaurant in Yogyakarta.

Based on data on work accident cases in west Sulawesi from 2021 to 2023, the number of work accident cases was recorded as many as 80 cases. This study was conducted in january-june 2024 at PT. Rekind Daya Mamuju. The research method used in this study is a descriptive research method. Determination of the sample in this study used the purposive sampling method with the criteria, workers who work in an environtment that produces potential hazard, and workers who are willing to be samples in this study. The data collection technique used was by conducting interviews using a questionnaire. Based on the data and results of the analysis carried out, it’s known that employees of the PT. Rekind Daya Mamuju comply with the use of PPE. This can be seen from the cnowladge, attitudes, and actions of employees regarding the use of PPE which is very good with a percentage of 100%. The conclusion of this study is compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment for employees at PT. Rekind Daya Mamuju can be said to be good, seen from the result of interviews regarding employees cnowladge, attitudes, and acion which are very good as much as 100%. The suggestion from this study is for employees to continue to improve their compliance in using PPE, and for the company to continue to supervise the use of PPE.

Abstract

According to the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), there are several sources of indoor pollution, one of which is pollution that comes from outside the building, for example chimney gas. PT Rekind Daya Mamuju is a company engaged in the Steam Power Plant (PLTU) business, in its production process using coal to produce steam. Burning coal in the production process produces smoke which is thought to contain PM2.5 which can fly into employees' work spaces. This research aims to measure and analyze the concentration of Particulate Matter (PM2.5), measure humidity levels, measure lighting, measure temperature levels, measure ventilation. Measurements were carried out at several points in the PT industrial room. Rekind Daya Mamuju over a certain period of time to get representative data. This research method is descriptive research with a cross-sectional design based on measuring indoor air samples. The results of the study showed that the concentration of PM2.5 in one room was above the standard threshold for PM2.5 quality standards in the room, namely the DCS room with a PM2.5 level of 71.3 µg/m3, the humidity level in the room that did not meet the requirements was the workshop room with humidity content 64%. , the temperature level in the room of 26.80C meets the requirements, the room whose ventilation does not meet the requirements is the workshop room. Conclusion: Average levels of PM2.5, humidity, temperature, ventilation have met the requirements. This research suggests implementing mitigation measures, such as improving ventilation, use of personal protective equipment, and reducing particulate emission sources, to reduce exposure to PM2.5 in industrial spaces.

Abstract

West Sulawesi National Waste Management Information Site (SIPSN). Household waste tops the list of waste sources with 40.78% in 2021 (Akbar, 2023). The amount of waste generation cannot be separated from the economic situation, welfare, consumption patterns, security patterns and community behavior, or the habit of people littering around their place of residence. This is related to the lack of public knowledge on how to manage household waste properly and correctly (Marpaung et al., 2022). As a result of people's habit of throwing garbage. Lack of awareness of the importance of cleanliness is the most important factor, in addition to the community's sensitivity to the environment must be questioned. They do not know what dangers will occur if they cannot protect the surrounding environment. (Yuniarti et al., 2020). This study was conducted to determine the description of community behavior in household waste management. The research method used in the study was descriptive method. The data collection technique is Simple Random Sampling or randomizing. Population to households in Orobatu Village, Tapalang Subdistrict with 331 households, as many as 181 samples. The results of the research that has been done show that the level of community knowledge related to household waste management is still lacking is 55.2%. Community attitudes related to household waste management are still lacking is 53.6%, and community actions related to household waste management are still lacking is 56.9%. The conclusion from the results of the study can be seen from the behavior of the community towards household waste management is still lacking. Suggestions from the research are to provide counseling to the community, especially regarding the management of organic and inorganic waste. The village cooperates with the Environmental Agency to prepare Waste Disposal Sites (TPS).

Abstract

According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), exposure to noise in the workplace is one of the most common risk factors, second only to the risk of workplace accidents. Workplace noise exposure has been found to contribute to 22% of health problems in the work environment. This study aims to determine the relationship between noise levels and blood pressure in the workplace. This is a descriptive study with a survey method that aims to explore the relationship between noise and the blood pressure of employees at PT. Rekind Daya Mamuju. The data collection techniques used were blood pressure measurements and noise measurements. This research was conducted at PT. Rekind Daya Mamuju, Dusun Talaba, Desa Belang-Belang, Kec. Kalukku, Kab. Mamuju, West Sulawesi Province. The results of the study showed that the average noise levels measured at PT. Rekind Daya Mamuju were 93 dBA in the boiler unit, 86 dBA in the WTP unit, 89 dBA in the turbine, 63 dBA in the coal yard unit, and 63 dBA in the workshop, with a total of 18 employees. Based on blood pressure measurements before work, the average blood pressure was 120 mmHg/80 mmHg, and after work, the average blood pressure was 120 mmHg/90 mmHg. Based on the research results, the significance values were 1.000 and 0.637, where the p-value > 0.05. This indicates that there is no significant relationship between noise and blood pressure, both before and after work. The recommendation from this study is that industries should mandate the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as earmuffs or earplugs, for workers in areas with high noise levels. Additionally, regular noise quality measurements and monitoring should be conducted to ensure that noise intensity remains within safe limits
