Abstract

This research aims to develop Android learning media on lubrication system competency. The purpose of this research is to create appropriate learning applications according to experts, determine the effectiveness and efficiency of the media, and determine the response of teachers and students to the media created. This research used the ADDIE development model. This research used a pre-experimental design in the form of a one group pretest-posttest design which was carried out at the Concentration of Light Vehicle Engineering Expertise at SMK Ma'arif NU 1 Ajibarang. The research results showed that Android learning media received a score from media experts of 85.16% in very worthy category and material experts received a score of 88.97% in very worthy category. There is significant differences between the result of pretest and posttest in experiment class (sig. 2-tailed 0.000 < 0.05) and also in control class (sig. 2-tailed 0.000 <0.05).  Android media can improve student learning outcomes in experimental classes with an average percentage increase of 62.15% in quite effective category. Meanwhile, the control class that did not use Android media obtained an average percentage increase of 25.62% in the Ineffective category. There was no time efficiency in this research. The media received a teacher response of 95.45% in very good category and a student response of 77.41% in the "Good" category.

Abstract

Quality management practices are essential for companies seeking a competitive advantage in today's market, with quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) playing pivotal roles in ensuring that products and services meet established standards and customer expectations. The integration of these practices with sustainability initiatives has emerged as a critical area of research across various industries, driven by the demand for efficient resource utilization and environmental protection. This paper reviews the significance of QC and QA across these industries, highlighting their impact on operational efficiency, waste reduction, and customer trust. Furthermore, the paper examines the integration of advanced technologies, such as automation and artificial intelligence, in quality management systems, and their potential to improve decision-making and risk management. This review identifies key research gaps and limitations in current studies, emphasizing the need for actionable guidelines and qualitative insights to enhance the implementation of quality management practices. By addressing these gaps, future research can contribute to more effective and sustainable quality management solutions across diverse industries.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations at SMK Muhammadiyah 04 Sukorejo, it is known that there is still no Honda manual transmission demonstration tool which makes it difficult to understand and comprehend the material presented by the teacher, especially in the basic competency of repairing and periodically maintaining the motorcycle manual transmission system. This study aims to develop a motorcycle manual transmission demonstration learning media that is feasible and can improve student learning outcomes. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) research method with the ADDIE model. The subjects of this study were grade 11 students of TBSM 1 SMK Muhammadiyah 04 Sukorejo. Product trials were carried out at the implementation stage using the trial stage with the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design model. The results of the media expert assessment obtained a percentage of 82.5% and the material expert with a percentage of 86.45%. The results of the pretest stage test obtained a value with an average of 64.11 and the posttest stage obtained a value with an average of 79.00. The motorcycle manual transmission system demonstration tool is included in the "very satisfying" category based on student perceptions with a percentage of 82.5%. Based on the results of the N-gain test, the motorcycle manual transmission teaching aid was proven to be able to improve students' mastery of competencies in the moderate category (gain value of 0.414 is between 0.7 > N-gain ≥ 0.03), and based on the t-test, the results showed that the average mastery of student competencies was more than KKM 75 (Sig. Value 0.40 > 0.05).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the exhaust emissions of diesel engine vehicles with and without the use of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system at engine temperature variations of 60℃, 70℃, and 80℃. The study was conducted on a 2008 Mitsubishi L300 Diesel vehicle to measure the effect of EGR on NOx emissions and soot emissions (smoke opacity). The research method used was an experiment with a quantitative approach. Data were obtained by measuring exhaust gas temperature as an indication of NOx emissions and using a smoke opacity meter to measure the level of vehicle smoke concentration. The results showed that the use of EGR was able to reduce NOx emissions, but increased soot emissions. The higher the engine temperature, the NOx emissions tended to increase both in vehicles with and without EGR. Conversely, soot emissions decreased along with increasing engine temperature. The conclusion of this study is that the EGR system is effective in reducing NOx emissions but has side effects in the form of increased soot emissions. Therefore, optimization of EGR technology needs to be combined with other strategies to reduce the negative impact on air quality.
