Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology around the world has significantly transformed education, influencing how knowledge is produced, disseminated, and consumed globally. This paper explores the application of Cultural-Historical Activity Theory (CHAT) within education, emphasizing its potential to navigate the complexities and opportunities presented by the digital era. CHAT, grounded in the works of Vygotsky and expanded by Engeström, provides a comprehensive framework for understanding the interplay between cultural artifacts, tools, and social interactions in educational settings. This theoretical approach is particularly relevant in analyzing how digital tools mediate learning processes, reshaping pedagogical practices and learning outcomes. Through a thorough review of existing literature and case studies, this paper highlights CHAT's role in fostering adaptive, culturally responsive, and technologically integrated educational environments worldwide. Furthermore, it identifies gaps in current research, particularly concerning the systematic study of digital technology's impact on educational activity systems and the effectiveness of CHAT-based interventions. By integrating key concepts of CHAT with contemporary digital tools, this paper contributes to the discourse on educational innovation, offering insights into the dynamic relationship between technology, pedagogy, and student engagement in education.

Abstract

The development and dissemination of effective publicity materials are essential for professional communicators in public relations, communication, and marketing in this digital and globalized world. These materials, encompassing various media formats, play a crucial role in conveying messages, shaping public perceptions, and engaging target audiences. With the rapid development of digital technology and the need for integrated communication strategies, creating persuasive, ethical, and transparent materials has become increasingly important. This study aims to identify and synthesize common procedures for the development of publicity materials through a systematic literature review (SLR) of 77 highly cited international references in public relations, marketing, communication, and media. Key stages of the methodology include defining research questions, identifying and selecting relevant literature, extracting and analysing data, and summarizing common procedures. The findings reveal essential elements such as audience analysis, objectives-setting, message development, communication channel selection, and effectiveness appraisal. This study also highlights the importance of cultural sensitivity, two-way communication, and the integration of technology in developing effective publicity materials. The study concludes with recommendations for future research, including the development of comprehensive models or frameworks that can further enhance the creation of impactful publicity materials in diverse contexts.

Abstract

Carnaval, a global festival with deep historical and cultural roots, has evolved from ancient pagan rituals into a vibrant expression of community identity, creativity, and joy. This paper analyzes the global trends in Carnaval celebrations and their evolving meanings in the digital age, with a focus on balancing tradition, inclusivity, and sustainability. By examining how digital technologies reshape the experience and dissemination of Carnaval, this study highlights the interplay between globalization, cultural continuity, and change. Case studies from Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Venice, New Orleans, and Indonesia illustrate the integration of digital tools in promoting and preserving Carnaval traditions. The findings reveal that while digital platforms enhance accessibility and inclusivity, they also pose challenges in maintaining cultural authenticity. By leveraging augmented reality, virtual reality, live streaming, and social media, Carnaval events can reach a global audience, fostering cultural exchange and appreciation. However, it is crucial to balance these innovations with the preservation of traditional elements to ensure the essence and historical significance of Carnaval are maintained. This paper concludes with recommendations for stakeholders to integrate digital technology responsibly, promoting sustainable practices and inclusive participation while preserving the rich cultural heritage of Carnaval.
