Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of three AI-powered grammar checker applications—Grammarly, QuillBot, and GrammarCheck—in improving the recount writing skills of EFL students. Fifty-two undergraduate students revised their recount texts using these tools, and data were collected through text analysis and student questionnaires. Results show that all three applications helped reduce grammatical errors and increased students’ awareness of language accuracy, with Grammarly offering the most comprehensive feedback and QuillBot providing valuable paraphrasing support. Despite their benefits, limitations such as surface-level corrections and restricted free features highlight the need for integrating these tools alongside teacher guidance. The findings suggest that grammar checkers can serve as effective supplementary aids in EFL writing instruction when used thoughtfully.

Abstract

The development and dissemination of effective publicity materials are essential for professional communicators in public relations, communication, and marketing in this digital and globalized world. These materials, encompassing various media formats, play a crucial role in conveying messages, shaping public perceptions, and engaging target audiences. With the rapid development of digital technology and the need for integrated communication strategies, creating persuasive, ethical, and transparent materials has become increasingly important. This study aims to identify and synthesize common procedures for the development of publicity materials through a systematic literature review (SLR) of 77 highly cited international references in public relations, marketing, communication, and media. Key stages of the methodology include defining research questions, identifying and selecting relevant literature, extracting and analysing data, and summarizing common procedures. The findings reveal essential elements such as audience analysis, objectives-setting, message development, communication channel selection, and effectiveness appraisal. This study also highlights the importance of cultural sensitivity, two-way communication, and the integration of technology in developing effective publicity materials. The study concludes with recommendations for future research, including the development of comprehensive models or frameworks that can further enhance the creation of impactful publicity materials in diverse contexts.

Abstract

Design Thinking (DT), originating in industrial design, has evolved into a transformative framework for addressing global educational challenges, particularly in the development of teaching materials. By emphasizing empathy, ideation, and iterative prototyping, DT fosters creativity, collaboration, and adaptability, supporting active, interdisciplinary learning. However, challenges persist in integrating DT into curriculum design, pedagogy, and teaching materials, as well as evaluating its impact on student outcomes. This systematic literature review analyses the worldwide studies from 2010 to 2024 using a semi-systematic approach. Peer-reviewed literature from Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar was examined through thematic analysis to identify DT’s principles, educational impacts, and implementation barriers. The findings demonstrate DT’s ability to enhance critical thinking, problem-solving, and engagement while aligning with technological and sustainability goals. Despite these benefits, institutional and cultural barriers, inadequate teacher training, and resource constraints limit its effectiveness. The review highlights the need for localized frameworks, integration of emerging technologies, and robust empirical research. Addressing these gaps can help educators create inclusive, innovative, and student-centred learning environments, equipping students with skills for an increasingly complex and globalized world.
