Abstract

This research was to analyzed the factors influencing cash dividend on Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2003-2007 observation period. Samples used purposive on LQ-45 with a criteria during observation period, the emiten divide dividend, so that the total samples obtained 13, and, after the process of Clasik Assumption is done, it reached 31 observations. Data Analysis technique used multiple regression analysis with Ordinary Least Square (OLS). Funding shown that DTA, EPS, and CFFF had significantly influenced cash dividend. On the other side, ROI, CaR, CR, CF, CFFO and CFFI was not significant. Abstract

There are many instruments of investment in the capital market. One of instruments is the option. The quotation of the option depends on its underlying asset. If the asset is the stock, the option is called as the stock option. This paper describes how to determine the value of option based on binomial tree model. Both, forward calculation and backward pricing are used to establish the value of option. For the simplicity, the explanation that performed in this paper doesn't include dividend payment.Keywords: binomial model valuation, real world valuation, risk neutral valuation, backward pricing, European option.

Abstract

This research aims to see the effect of Initial Public Offering to the long-run underperformance of IPO at compaines in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). 1995 up to 2004. The data has been selected using a purposive sampling method. The independent variables are size of the firm (asset before the floatation and funds), quality of the firm (cost), risk of the firm (age and profitable before the floatation), reputation of the firm (sponsor), and agency costs after the IPO (equity of issue). While the dependent variables in this research are long-run underperformance of IPO seen in Market-Adjusted Buy and Hold Return (MABHR). The method used for data analysis are the ordinary least square. Based on the result of the whole research, it can be summarized that IPO and long-run underperformance have significance relationship.Keywords: Initial Public Offering (IPO), stock price, agency cost

Abstract

This paper reviews the role of intangible assets as source of competitive advantage and how to manage their assets in innovation based competition era. Innovation based competition has radical consequences on organizational management practices; in other word innovation has become ever more central to firms competitiveness. In today's business competition, organizations are highlighting the importance of intangible assets as source of competitive advantage. It is represent significant values drivers for organization such as human capital, customer capital, information database, software, brand, patent, and business processes. In other the balance the investment between physical and intangible assets, organization have to able to identify and to calculate the value of their intangible assets. One way to manage intangible assets is through knowledge management. And the most important factor to be considered is aligning the organization intangible assets management strategy with its vision, values, organization strategy and culture, so that management will be able to reap the reward from its most valuable assets.Keywords: intangible assets, innovation-based competition, intangible asset management framework, competitive advantage.

Abstract

The study analyzed the effect of business environment factors on manufacturing strategy. Data was collected from 43 organisations in Bantul, Yogyakarta. The analyses using Multivariate Multiple Regression Analysis (MMRA) found the results that simultaneously the factors of business environment effected manufacturing strategy. But, partially they did not. Only business cost, labor availability, and market dynamism significantly influenced manufacturing strategy.Keywords: Business environment, Manufacturing strategy, Multivariate Multiple Regression Analysis

Abstract

This article decribes the significant impatcs of promoting corporate culture for employees, especially new recruits, in their understanding of corporate culture or corporate values. Promoting corporate culture and/or corporate values is often used by many organizations to help its employee recognize the organization's condition and surroundings. Abstract

World class manufacturers which operate in the global market must have a world class performance. In this circumstance, having the right product in the right place, and in the right time will encourage manufacturers to win the global competition, on the other hand they do not have the resources and competencies. In this case, collaboration amongst business partners is needed to support the process of product innovation and to achieve efficiency and efectiveness in their business activities. As a result, customer value creation in business networking becomes an important issue in developing collaboration to improve manufacturing competitiveness. This paper discusses how manufacturers achieve their sustainable competitive advantage through value creation in business networking. Based on the literature review, to become a world class manufacturer, three core strategies are needed; focus on consumer, focus on quality, and focus on many supporting competencies such as employee empowerment, product development through research and development, corporate culture amongst business partners, and radical thinking.Keywords: Business Transformation, Collaboration, Business Networking, World Class Manufacturer
