Abstract

Bridge reinforcement with external prestressing method is a proven effective approach to overcome damage in strengthening bridge structures. This method uses the installation of prestressing cables outside the steel frame of the bridge to increase the strength and stability of the structure. The bridge structure is made with the guidelines of SNI 1725: 2016 standard steel frame of class A bridges, using IWF and H Beam steel, with a plate thickness of 20 mm with a span length of 60 meters, a width of 9.13 meters and a height of 6.3 meters. The structural analysis of this study uses the SAP2000 v22 software program. In this study, 3 prestressing cable tensions were compared on the reinforcement of the bridge frame with the external prestressing method. And a loading simulation was carried out which could provide a response in the form of strain due to moving loads and a bridge structure response that was reduced by approximately 50% from the deflection force on the steel frame reference bridge if given a moving load. Choosing a bridge that has the lowest settlement. The review point is determined for the comparison of deflection at point object 7 and joint object U3. The Type E cable-stayed bridge has the lowest results in percentage, about 46.68% for a speed of 40 km/h, 48.60% for a vehicle speed of 50 km/h and 49.91% for a vehicle speed of 60 km/h, indicating that this bridge has the best analysis performance among the cable-stayed bridges analyzed.

Abstract

Hydroponic agriculture is a soilless plant cultivation method that is becoming increasingly popular in the modern era. However, hydroponic systems require strict monitoring of environmental parameters, especially temperature and pH, to ensure optimal plant growth. This research aims to design and build a temperature and pH monitoring system for hydroponic plants based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using a NodeMCU ESP-8266 microcontroller. The developed system consists of a DS18B20 temperature sensor, a pH sensor, a NodeMCU ESP-8266 microcontroller, and the ThingSpeak IoT platform. These sensors are used to measure the temperature and pH of the hydroponic nutrient solution in real-time. The collected data is then sent to the ThingSpeak platform via the WiFi connection integrated into the NodeMCU ESP-8266. The implementation of this system is expected to assist hydroponic farmers in efficiently monitoring and controlling their plants' environmental conditions, thereby increasing productivity and harvest quality. Further research can be conducted to integrate more parameters and develop automatic control systems based on the collected data.

Abstract

Road infrastructure improvement is crucial for supporting economic growth and urban development, particularly in cities like Samarinda, East Kalimantan, which faces challenges due to increasing traffic volumes. To address this, the Public Works Department initiated a road preservation project aimed at enhancing the city’s road network. However, unforeseen changes during execution, known as contract change orders (CCOs), are common in construction projects and can affect costs, timelines, and quality. CCOs often arise from fluctuating material prices, design revisions, or external factors. Effective management, including risk analysis and clear communication, is crucial for minimizing delays and cost overruns. This study examines CCOs in a road preservation project in Samarinda, focusing on their causes, impacts, and management strategies. Data collection includes primary data from the contractor’s project monitoring documents and secondary data from literature studies. Quantitative analysis is used to assess the causes and impacts of CCOs, measured by Change Order Ratio (COR) and Change Order Ratio in Addition (CORA). The research aims to identify key factors driving contract changes and analyze their effects on cost, time, and quality. For the Samarinda project, COR and CORA were both 2.54%. The contract value increased from Rp1,950,519,068.00 to Rp2,000,079,068.00 due to additional work, with a cost deviation of Rp49,560,000. Despite these changes, the cost deviation was minimal, indicating effective management of contract changes. This study emphasizes the importance of continued evaluation to minimize future changes and ensure the efficiency of road infrastructure projects.

Abstract

Roads are essential infrastructure for improving the economy of the community and regional development. Good road infrastructure certainly impacts the progress of an area. As the region develops and the complexity of the district government's tasks increases, which affects the increase in vehicle traffic, new road access is needed to facilitate the mobility of officials. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is one of the methods used for decision-making in project feasibility studies. In this study, there are four criteria used, namely 1. Distance 2. Efficiency, and; 3. Spatial Planning Integration and aesthetics. Each of these three criteria is broken down into two sub-criteria. Questionnaires were distributed to two respondents selected proportionally, consisting of one person from the Public Works Department of Mahakam Ulu Regency and one person from the Planning Consultant of PT. TEMA KARYA MANDIRI KSO. The questionnaire results were analyzed using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to assess four alternative road sections to be selected. Based on the AHP analysis of the main entrance road planning in the office area of Mahakam Ulu Regency, alternative location 1 was chosen with an AHP score of 0.473, which is higher than the other three alternatives. Therefore, alternative location 1 is recommended to proceed to the next study stage (Detail Engineering Design).
