Abstract

Interest is a feeling of preference, a sense of attraction, attention and motivation of a person or individual in a particular activity. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve the learning interest of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 on the material of the Sacrament of Penance through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model. This research is motivated by the low interest of students in learning the material, which has an impact on less than optimal understanding of the concept. This research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle including the planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. In each cycle, students are faced with authentic problems related to the material of the Sacrament of Penance. They then work in groups to find solutions to these problems through structured learning activities. The results of the study in cycle I showed that student learning outcomes were still not optimal with an average presentation of grades obtained on all indicators, namely 70.25, including in the developing category according to expectations. This is due to the lack of student understanding of the learning methods applied. While in cycle II there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes with an average presentation of grades obtained for all indicators, namely 88.50, including in the proficient category. In addition, students also showed better abilities in analyzing problems, finding information, and presenting group work results. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the PBL model can increase students' interest in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of multimedia and interactive-based mathematics learning at SMKS Pancasila Tambolaka, specifically for students in the Tourism Service Management program in Sumba Barat Daya. By combining quantitative and qualitative approaches (mixed methods), this research measures the improvement in students' understanding of mathematical concepts as well as their perceptions of this teaching method. Quantitative data was collected through pre-tests and post-tests to compare students' understanding before and after the multimedia-based learning, while a Likert scale questionnaire was used to assess students' motivation and satisfaction. Qualitative data was gathered through in-depth interviews with teachers and focus group discussions with students to capture their experiences. The results indicate that multimedia and interactive learning methods significantly enhance students' understanding of mathematical concepts, as well as strengthen their motivation and participation in class. Teachers also reported benefits from using this technology, which helps to simplify abstract concepts. Recommendations from this study include improving technology infrastructure and providing ongoing teacher training to ensure optimal implementation. These findings support previous research, which suggests that multimedia is effective in enhancing the quality of learning and increasing student engagement.

Abstract

In determining the causal relationship between actions and the resulting consequences, criminal law uses certain measures or criteria to determine the causal relationship between actions and the resulting consequences. This is where the teaching of causality is important, in seeing the relationship between one action and another which causes prohibited consequences. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that the role of the Judge in making decisions is associated with the teaching of causality, namely the use of logic and legal reasoning in linking a series of events with the evidence and fatka - the facts presented. Consolidating/finding a series of events, namely seeing, admitting and confirming that a criminal act has occurred. In decision number 777/Pid.B/2016/PN.JKT.PST, the judge's role in decision making is linked to the teaching of causality, namely the use of logic and legal reasoning in linking a series of events with the evidence and facts presented.

Abstract

Stunting in children under five is one of the chronic nutritional problems that remains a major challenge in Indonesia. This condition not only affects children's physical growth, but also impacts cognitive ability, future economic productivity and the overall quality of human resources. This study aims to analyze the role of nutrition education and supplementary food supplementation in reducing the risk of stunting in children under five. The study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 30 children under five selected by random sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire that included acceptance of nutrition education, use of additional food supplementation, and stunting status in toddlers. The results showed that 60% of children under five received nutrition education, and 66.7% received additional food supplementation. The prevalence of stunting among children under five who received nutrition education and supplementation was only 11.1%, while among children under five who did not receive either, the prevalence reached 50%. This finding suggests that proper nutrition education and regular supplementation play a significant role in preventing stunting. This study emphasizes the importance of nutrition education interventions and supplementary food supplementation as a strategy to reduce stunting among under-fives.
