Abstract

The evolving demands of the modern era require the field of Guidance and Counseling to go beyond technical practices and embrace a strong philosophical foundation. This study aims to explore the collaboration between philosophy of science and counseling practice as a strategic effort to develop a reflective and adaptive scientific paradigm. Employing a qualitative research design with a literature review method, data were collected from relevant academic sources and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings reveal that integrating the philosophy of science enriches counselors' frameworks and addresses the fragmentation within the discipline. This study contributes to the formulation of counselor education models that emphasize critical reflection and contextual value integration. The conclusion highlights the urgency of reconstructing curricula and suggests future empirical research to evaluate the practical implementation of this integration in real world counseling contexts.

Abstract

The urgency of improving the quality of Guidance and Counseling (BK) services demands accurate and holistic assessments, especially through the use of non-test instruments that are able to reveal students' affective, social, and psychological aspects. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of non-test instruments in counseling services based on a literature study of 30 national and international journal articles. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach, involving thematic analysis of publications from the last five years. The results show that non-test instruments, such as questionnaires, observations, interviews and sociometry, are effective in supporting a comprehensive understanding of students. However, their implementation still faces obstacles such as limited training and the lack of validated instruments. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening the competence of counseling teachers and developing contextualized and standardized instruments. Future research is recommended to empirically evaluate the implementation of these instruments in schools.

Abstract

Altruism is a specific form of behavioral adjustment aimed at the benefit of others, tending towards self-harm, and driven by the desire to improve the welfare of others without expecting anything in return. The SFBT approach is a therapy that builds on the client's strengths, enabling them to identify and resolve their own problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of group counseling using the SFBT approach in improving altruistic behavior in eighth-grade students at SMPN 6 Probolinggo. The method used in this study was a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, meaning the sampling method was based on specific considerations. The subjects were five students from class VIIIC of SMPN 6 Probolinggo, obtained from the pretest results to improve altruistic behavior. The instrument used in this study was the altruistic behavior scale. Data analysis in this study used parametric statistics with a paired-sample t-test, processed using SPSS 22.0 for Windows. The results of the study are described as follows: (a) the level of altruistic behavior of class VIIIC students of SMPN 6 Probolinggo who were the subjects of the study before being given group counseling treatment with the SFBT approach was in the "low" category, the average pre-test score of the altruistic behavior scale was 62.4. (b) the level of altruistic behavior of class VIII students of SMPN 6 Probolinggo who were the subjects of the study after being given group counseling treatment with the SFBT was in the "high" category, the average post-test score of the altruistic behavior scale was 127.8. (c) the results of the paired sample t-test analysis from the calculation results can be concluded that the sig value (-2 tailed) is 0.001 <0.05, so HO is rejected so it can be concluded that it is effective in reducing the altruistic behavior of students of SMPN 6 Probolinggo.

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has fundamentally transformed the educational landscape, placing e-learning, or electronic-based learning, as a core component. This article analyzes the evolution of e-learning from its initial emergence in the 1960s to its crucial role in the modern digital era, including the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and its impact following the COVID-19 pandemic. This qualitative research examines how e-learning has been implemented at various levels of education, from schools to higher education, and highlights its advantages and disadvantages. Particular focus is placed on a case study of e-learning implementation at Wiralodra University (Unwir). The results demonstrate that e-learning offers flexibility in time and place, access to global resources, cost efficiency, personalized learning, and increased digital literacy. However, challenges such as disparities in technology access, lack of social interaction, limited practical courses, and low digital literacy remain barriers. This article concludes that e-learning is a crucial pillar in future educational transformation, requiring adaptive strategies to maximize its potential and overcome obstacles.

Abstract

E-learning has become a major innovation in education, offering flexible, interactive, and efficient solutions to traditional learning challenges. This study explores the development of e-learning technology, from its early computer-based applications to modern web-based applications utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS). Furthermore, the study discusses the implementation of e-learning at various levels of education, from schools to universities, and identifies factors influencing its success, such as technological infrastructure readiness, educator competency, and students' digital literacy skills. The study's findings indicate that e-learning can expand access to learning resources, increase student engagement through interactive technology, and provide flexibility in time and place. However, key challenges include the technological gap between urban and rural areas, resistance to changes in teaching methods, and the need for specialized training for educators. With the support of inclusive education policies and sustainable infrastructure development, e-learning has the potential to transform the education system to become more modern, adaptive, and individual-oriented. This research is expected to provide insights for the development of more effective e-learning in the future.
