Modernization has a major impact on various aspects of people's lives, including local culture. This article evaluates the impact of modernization on the culture of the Kerinci community in Jambi. The research method used is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. The results of the study indicate that although several cultural elements such as local languages, marriage customs, and traditional agricultural systems have declined, preservation efforts are still carried out through local education and cultural revitalization. This study emphasizes the importance of collaboration between indigenous communities and local governments to maintain Kerinci's cultural identity in the flow of modernization.

This article discusses the existence of science from the perspective of philosophy, culture, and religion in the global and digital era. Through an interdisciplinary approach, this article examines how the integration of science, cultural values, and religious principles can strengthen human civilization amidst the challenges of globalization and digitalization. In the process, this study highlights the importance of philosophical foundations in the development of science, the contribution of culture in providing local context to the application of science, and the role of religion in providing a moral and ethical framework. The results of the study show that collaboration between these three aspects can create a civilized, tolerant, and adaptive society to changes in the times. Thus, this integration becomes an important foundation for the development of sustainable and meaningful human civilization in the modern era.

Right thinking requires means or tools of thinking. This means is certain, so scientific activity will not be maximized without the means of scientific thinking. Mastery of scientific tools is very important for scientists in order to carry out scientific activities properly. The type of writing in this article is literature revieu or literature, the data is described descriptively, so that it shows a scientific study that can be further developed. The results of this study are that the stages of scientific activity require tools in the form of scientific thinking tools. The means of scientific thinking serves only as a tool for humans to think scientifically in order to gain knowledge. Language is a means of communicating systematic ways of thinking in acquiring knowledge. Without language skills, a person will not be able to carry out scientific activities systematically and correctly. Logic as a means of scientific thinking directs humans to think correctly in accordance with the rules of correct thinking. Logic helps humans to think systematically which can be accounted for. If you want to do thinking activities correctly, you must use logical thinking rules. Logic can distinguish between correct thinking processes and incorrect thinking processes. Mathematics is a means of deductive thinking, so people can use statistics for inductive thinking. Deductive thinking and inductive thinking are needed to support correct scientific activities so that they will produce correct knowledge as well. Statistics should not be underestimated by people who want to be able to carry out scientific activities properly. Mastery of statistics is necessary for people who will draw valid conclusions. Statistics must be seen as equal to mathematics.

The rapid pace of social and cultural change necessitates a re-evaluation of the epistemological foundations of Guidance and Counseling, particularly within multicultural societies. This article aims to critically examine the epistemology of counselling by emphasizing the importance of contextual and reflective approaches grounded in local values. Employing a qualitative method through a literature review, data were collected using documentation techniques and analyzed through content analysis of relevant academic sources. The findings reveal that the dominance of Western paradigms in counselling epistemology needs to be complemented with indigenous approaches that are more adaptive to socio cultural dynamics. This study contributes theoretically to the development of counselling as a humanistic and culturally sensitive discipline, while also encouraging curriculum reform and inclusive counseling practices. Future research is recommended to empirically validate these conceptual findings through field studies and real world counseling practice.

The urgency of strengthening the philosophical foundation in Guidance and Counseling (BK) is increasing along with the complexity of adolescent psychosocial problems in the modern era. This article aims to critically analyze the ontological and epistemological dimensions in the science of guidance and counseling and its contribution to reflective counseling practices. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature study of relevant academic sources. The results of the study show that ontological understanding of human nature and epistemology related to sources of knowledge in counseling can enrich contextual and meaningful counseling practices. The integration of Stoicism philosophy - with values such as self-control and acceptance of reality - was found to be effective in helping adolescents manage stress. This study contributes to the development of a more philosophical, spiritual and locally value-adaptive conceptual framework for counseling. The study recommends empirical exploration to test the effectiveness of this approach across different cultural contexts.

Penguasaan bahasa Inggris di daerah wisata pedesaan seperti Mentawai masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan signifikan yang menghambat perkembangan sumber daya manusia dalam sektor pariwisata. Keterbatasan akses pendidikan bahasa Inggris, terutama terkait infrastruktur minim, kurangnya tenaga pengajar berkualitas, dan waktu belajar yang terbatas, berdampak pada rendahnya kompetensi bahasa Inggris anak-anak desa. Faktor sosial budaya dan ekonomi juga memperparah situasi ini, di mana rendahnya paparan bahasa Inggris dan dukungan keluarga membatasi motivasi belajar. Perkembangan pariwisata meningkatkan kebutuhan akan penguasaan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa komunikasi global, membuka peluang kerja, dan mendorong perubahan sosial yang positif. Namun, keterbatasan pembelajaran dan praktik bahasa Inggris sehari-hari menjadi tantangan utama. Solusi efektif ditemukan melalui Program Pelatihan Berbasis Komunitas yang melibatkan masyarakat secara aktif, menggunakan metode pembelajaran interaktif dan teknologi digital kontekstual, serta dukungan langsung dari keluarga dan tokoh masyarakat. Pendekatan terintegrasi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas penguasaan bahasa Inggris anak-anak desa, mempersiapkan mereka bersaing di pasar global, dan memperkuat daya saing destinasi wisata Indonesia.

The evolving demands of the modern era require the field of Guidance and Counseling to go beyond technical practices and embrace a strong philosophical foundation. This study aims to explore the collaboration between philosophy of science and counseling practice as a strategic effort to develop a reflective and adaptive scientific paradigm. Employing a qualitative research design with a literature review method, data were collected from relevant academic sources and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings reveal that integrating the philosophy of science enriches counselors' frameworks and addresses the fragmentation within the discipline. This study contributes to the formulation of counselor education models that emphasize critical reflection and contextual value integration. The conclusion highlights the urgency of reconstructing curricula and suggests future empirical research to evaluate the practical implementation of this integration in real world counseling contexts.

This research is motivated by the problem that many students have low subjective well-being due to academic pressure and demands from their parents. One factor that causes low subjective well-being of students is the lack of social support from parents. This study aims to describe the level of life satisfaction of high school students, describe subjective well-being in high school students viewed from positive aspects, and describe subjective well-being in high school students viewed from negative affect aspects. The research method used in this study is quantitative using descriptive analysis techniques. The sample of this study was 292 students selected using proportional random sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was the subjective well-being instrument. The results of this study indicate that subjective well-being of students in South Solok High School is generally in the moderate category. Based on the results of the study, guidance and counseling teachers can provide information services, individual counseling services and group guidance to help students who experience problems with their subjective well-being, as well as topics that can be used are how to improve subjective well-being.

Filsafat ilmu memegang peranan fundamental sebagai fondasi epistemologis dalam pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan. Artikel ini mengkaji peran filsafat ilmu dalam membentuk dasar berpikir ilmiah yang rasional dan metodologis, serta implikasinya terhadap inovasi dan integrasi ilmu pengetahuan kontemporer. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka reflektif-analitis dengan menelaah literatur klasik dan kontemporer terkait filsafat ilmu dan epistemologi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa filsafat ilmu tidak hanya menyediakan kerangka konseptual untuk validasi dan justifikasi pengetahuan, tetapi juga mengarahkan pemilihan metode ilmiah yang sesuai dan memfasilitasi dialog antar-disiplin ilmu. Selain itu, filsafat ilmu berperan penting dalam menegaskan dimensi etis dan tanggung jawab sosial dalam perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan, terutama di tengah tantangan era modern dan postmodern yang semakin kompleks dan pluralistik. Dengan demikian, penguatan filsafat ilmu menjadi kunci dalam mendorong pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan yang tidak hanya inovatif, tetapi juga holistik dan berkelanjutan.

Socrates merupakan salah satu tokoh paling berpengaruh dalam sejarah filsafat Barat karena berhasil mengalihkan fokus filsafat dari spekulasi kosmologis menuju kajian mendalam mengenai manusia, moralitas, dan proses memperoleh pengetahuan. Melalui metode elenchus atau tanya-jawab, ia menegaskan bahwa kebenaran harus dicari melalui dialog kritis, rasionalitas, dan kesadaran diri. Keterkaitan antara pemikiran Socrates dan filsafat modern tampak jelas dalam orientasi yang sama terhadap akal dan sikap kritis terhadap keyakinan yang tidak teruji, sebagaimana terlihat dalam rasionalisme René Descartes. Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan hubungan sistematis antara pemikiran Socrates dan fondasi filsafat modern, khususnya dalam konteks keraguan metodis Descartes dan perkembangan epistemologi modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kajian literatur dengan menganalisis berbagai sumber primer dan sekunder terkait pemikiran Socrates dan filsafat modern. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa keduanya dihubungkan oleh keyakinan bahwa akal merupakan instrumen utama dalam menemukan kebenaran. Relevansi pemikiran Socrates tetap kuat dalam kehidupan kontemporer, terutama dalam menghadapi banjir informasi, polarisasi sosial, dan kecenderungan menerima pendapat tanpa verifikasi. Warisan intelektual Socrates menegaskan bahwa kemajuan pengetahuan dan kehidupan moral yang bijaksana bergantung pada rasionalitas, dialog kritis, serta kejujuran intelektual.
