Abstract

Background: The data on the discovery of tuberculosis cases in 2019 in Indonesia were 65% reported while 25% were not reported. This figure is still far from the target that has been set, which is 90%. One alternative that is appropriate for discovery is active community-based discovery, especially health cadres who have been equipped with knowledge and skills. Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the factors associated with the role of health cadres in the discovery of tuberculosis cases. Methods: The method used is a literature review using 4 databases. Articles reviewed using cross-sectional research methods with population and samples are health cadres, must be indexed nationally and internationally, full text and published no more than 10 years. There are 6 articles studied. Results: From the 6 journals studied, it was stated that there was a significant relationship between knowledge, attitudes, motivation, providing incentives, providing training and support for health workers with the role of cadres in TB case finding. Conclusion: There are several factors that influence the role of cadres in TB case finding, but the research results are still very diverse due to the inaccuracy in the selection of statistical tests, data collection instruments and the number of samples.

Abstract

Background Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) is a symptom experienced in most cases of Type II Diabetes Mellitus. Which causes sensory disturbances such as pain sensations, numbness, burning sensations, and even can cause decreased muscle strength and balance disorders. Symptoms of DPN occur in 2/3 of cases of DM. This case report aims to present a physiotherapy management strategy in Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy. Case description, of a 70 year old woman with a medical diagnosis of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy. The patient complained of burning sensation along the legs and numbness in the soles of the feet, especially in the right leg. The physiotherapist met with the patient 3 times. Result: The results of the evaluation for 3 treatments showed that there were changes in aspects of neuropathy, dynamic balance, lower extremity muscle strength, and burning sensation and numbness. For the patient's static balance aspect, there was no decrease in the level of static balance. In addition to the range of motion (ROM) of the lower extremities, there are no complaints. Discussion: Physiotherapy interventions are very beneficial for patients with Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy. Although, the process of peripheral nerve recovery takes a long time, physiotherapy intervention can minimize the symptoms resulting from Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy. Further research is needed to determine the importance of physiotherapy in the condition of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a heterogeneous metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia as a result of defects in insulin secretion, insulin action or both. Long-term diabetes comes with various complications including neuropathy. Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) is also known as nerve fiber injury that results in changes in motor, sensory, and proprioceptive functions. DPN also has lower extremity muscle weakness, decreased balance, coordination, gait control, and an increased risk of falling. This study aims to determine the effect of balance and muscle strengthening exercises in the lower extremities to reduce the risk of falling in diabetic peripheral neuropathy type 2 DM patients. SM is 65 years old, Christian, works as a housewife. After carrying out a physiotherapy program given for 3 meetings with balance training interventions, it has not been able to improve balance, but is able to increase muscle strength in diabetic peripheral diabetic patients with type 2 DM neuropathy.

Abstract

Bell's palsy is a common neuropathy that causes weakness or paralysis of the facial nerve (the facial nerve). This condition causes the sufferer to have difficulty in moving half of the face consciously on the weak side. Symptoms of Bell's palsy occur in 20-30% of 100,000 people. This case report aims to present a physiotherapy management strategy in a case of Bell's Palsy. A 40-year-old woman with a medical diagnosis of Left Bell's Palsy. The patient complained of facial pain to the right and numbness and pain in the area behind the ear to the left neck. The physiotherapist met with the patient 8 times. Electrical stimulation can reduce the level and intensity of pain in the face that hurts, mirror exercise can improve facial functional status and increase self-confidence in patients is the benefit of physiotherapy management to solve the problem of bells palsy after 6 times therapy and evaluated. Physiotherapeutic interventions are very beneficial for patients with Bell's palsy. Although, the recovery process of peripheral nerves takes a long time, but with physiotherapy intervention can minimize the symptoms due to Bell's palsy. Further research is needed to determine the importance of physiotherapy in Bell's palsy. After physiotherapy intervention in the case of Bell's palsy 6 times using Electrical Stimulation and Mirror Exercise Therapy modalities, the results showed an increase in facial muscle strength, an increase in facial functional activity due to limitations of researchers, further research is needed to obtain an increase in functional activity in Bell's palsy patients.

Abstract

In line with the swift currents of globalization that hit various sectors and joints of life, adolescent reproductive health problems have also developed. One of the causes of the problem, possibly because of ignorance, as a result of adolescents not getting clear, correct and precise information about adolescent reproductive health and its problems. Information about reproductive health is still widely accessed on the internet, even though the truth of the sites that provide reproductive health information on the internet is not necessarily the truth. There needs to be justification from parties who really understand reproductive health, both from parents, teachers, health workers, and so on. The purpose of this study was to analyze the exposure to information about adolescent reproductive health in orphanages. This study uses a descriptive approach, the sample is taken in total, data collection using a questionnaire. The results showed that the majority of respondents were aged 13-16 years, but some had not been exposed to information about reproductive health which included puberty, pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. The majority of information exposure on reproductive health comes from teachers (72%) and health workers (37%), while the media as the most common source of information are the internet (45%), books (45%) and social media (42%).

Abstract

Osteoarthritis genu is the most common arthritis in elderly which is degenerative and chronic due to damage to the knee joint. Genu osteoarthritis is one of the factors in the decline in the quality of life index. One indicator of quality of life index is the ability of functional capacity. Measurement of functional capacity using the womac index. Increased functional capacity using the centering method by combining with exercise therapy. This study aims to determine the benefits of providing a centering method in a physiotherapy program to increase the functional capacity of genu osteoarthritis sufferers. The type of research used in this study is a single research study with a quantitative case study and the research design used is Pretest-posttest A-B-A Design by combining centering training with exercise therapy. the results show there was an increase in functional capacity in genu osteoarthritis sufferers after combining the centering method with the physiotherapy program.

Abstract

Along with the times, people's knowledge is increasing, to the awareness to do dental care. Dental care has now become a community need, starting from technical advancements in the installation of stirrups to the installation of dentures. Associated with dental care in the installation of dentures, there are several complaints of dentures that are easily soluble so that they are easily removed.Fiber reinforced compositesis a composite resin with added fiber reinforcement. FRC consists of composite, fiber and silane. Silane in the composite functions ascoupling agent. This is because the composite and fiber cannot bond well, so that between the two requires a coupling agent, namely silane. The use of silane in FRC composites is to improve the bond and help the bond between the composite and the fiber. One of the factors that affect the performance of the silane is the time it takes to dry the silane adhesive. The process of adding fiber will reduce the solubility of the material and water absorption. The results of a review of several studies show that there are differences in the mean values of the two sample groups. The difference in the mean value of the two sample groups was analyzed using a review of previous research journals. The conclusion is that the addition of fiber to FRC with silane affects the solubility of fiber reinforced composites.
