Abstract

This thesis aims to examine the application of the Tartīl method in improving the ability to read the Qur'an of students at the Ath Thohiriyyah Purwokerto Islamic Boarding School. Learning to read the Qur'an properly and correctly is a fundamental aspect in Islamic boarding school education, especially in forming religious competence in accordance with the rules of tajwid, makhārijul ḥurūf, and tartil rhythm as recommended in QS. Al-Muzzammil verse 4. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the Tartīl method has been applied continuously since the early 2000s on the initiative of the boarding school caretaker. Activities are carried out every Sunday morning after the Subuh prayer, starting with prayer and tawassul together, followed by individual reading of verses, direct correction by the ustadz, and collective repetition of readings. The application of this method plays a role not only as a means of reading practice, but also as an evaluative instrument and character building through discipline, perseverance, and mutual respect among students. The supporting factors include the charismatic leadership of the boarding school caretaker, the pedagogical competence of the ustadz, the religious climate of the boarding school, and the internal awareness of the students. Meanwhile, the main obstacles come from the limited physical readiness of students in the morning and variations in reading ability between individuals.

Abstract

This research is focused on illustrating how Islamic Religious Education instructors creatively implement mobile phone technology as a tool to aid learning in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Character Building at SMP Negeri 1 Jatilawang. The approach taken in this study is descriptive qualitative, utilizing methods such as observation, interviews, and documentation for data gathering. The analysis of the data includes steps like data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions or verifying findings. Participants in the research included the school principal, teachers of Islamic Religious Education, and students from grades VII and VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Jatilawang. To ensure the validity of the data, triangulation was employed. Findings indicated that the teachers of Islamic Religious Education displayed significant creativity in using various mobile applications including YouTube, Google Maps, Canva, Google Forms, and Islamic educational apps like the Stories of the 25 Prophets and Apostles. The digital tools were effectively integrated during the planning, execution, and assessment phases of the educational process. Some challenges encountered, such as limited devices, internet connectivity, and the need for student supervision, can be addressed through proper management techniques. In general, the incorporation of mobile phones enhances the effectiveness, involvement, and motivation of students in the Islamic Religious Education classroom.

Abstract

With today’s advanced technology, the massive flow of information accelerates the spread of sensitive issues on social media, including those related to Islam. This phenomenon creates an urgency to equip students with critical thinking skills so they can respond to such issues wisely. This is particularly relevant for junior high school students who are beginning to actively access digital information and are vulnerable to provocative content, including religious issues. Critical thinking is also a key competency in developing excellent human resources capable of facing global challenges. For this reason, SMP Negeri 02 Purwokerto as a Junior High School seeks to internalize this ability in its students through the educational process. Therefore, this research aims to explain the Internalization of the Pancasila Student Profile's Critical Thinking Dimension in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education at SMP Negeri 02 Purwokerto as a potential solution to this urgency. This is a field research study employing a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection methods include interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of this study show that teachers of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education at SMP Negeri 02 Purwokerto internalize the Critical Thinking Dimension through the following stages: 1) preparing the Islamic Religious Education and Character Education lesson plans; 2) implementing the internalization of the Critical Thinking Dimension in three stages: value transformation, value transaction, and transinternalization; and 3) evaluating the learning process of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education

Abstract

The Problem Based Learning model is one of the learning innovations recommended in the independent curriculum. The implementation of this study aims to examine and describe the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model in the subjects of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education at SMP Negeri 2 Kedungbanteng with a focus on improving student understanding. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method with a field approach. Data collection was carried out using direct observation, interviews, and document searches at the research location. The subjects involved in this study included Islamic Religious Education teachers and grade VIII students. From this study, it can be concluded that the implementation is carried out through three stages, including: 1) Planning stage, the process of implementing the Problem Based Learning learning model, teachers prepare teaching modules as guidelines for implementation in the learning process. 2) Implementation stage, covering the PBL syntax including problem orientation, organizing students, mentoring individual and group investigations, developing and presenting results and analyzing and evaluating the problem-solving process. 3) Evaluation stage, which is carried out in the form of formative assessments during the learning process. The results of this study provide a concrete picture of the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning model as an innovative approach to creating more relevant, interactive, and student-centered Islamic Religious Education and Character Education learning, especially in dealing with contextual issues that require problem solving and moral reasoning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the Laswell model of teacher and student interaction patterns in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education learning at SMP Negeri 2 Mandiraja and to analyze the weaknesses and strengths of the Laswell model of teacher and student interaction in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education learning at SMP Negeri 2 Mandiraja. This study uses a descriptive qualitative field research method. The application of the Laswell model of teacher and student interaction patterns in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education learning at SMP Negeri 2 Mandiraja includes one-way interactions that are applied through lecture activities, namely to explain Islamic Religious Education and Character Education material with an interesting style and intonation, two-way interaction patterns through questions and answers to determine the extent of mastery of the subject matter, three-way interaction patterns, namely through group discussion activities to determine students' critical thinking skills in delivering Islamic Religious Education material and answering students' questions. The multi-way or all-way interaction pattern is carried out by the teacher through lecture activities, questions and answers and discussions on the material that has been delivered and continued by answering questions in the book given by the teacher to students to measure the ability to answer correctly.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is an educational reform in Indonesia that grants teachers and learners greater autonomy to design learning aligned with students’ interests, developmental stages, and school context. This study describes how the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum is implemented in Aqidah Akhlaq instruction at MTs Ma’arif NU 1 Sokaraja and analyzes supporting and inhibiting factors. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed. Data were gathered through classroom observations, in-depth interviews (teachers, school leadership, curriculum vipe principal), and document review of lesson plans and teaching modules. Data analysis followed the steps of reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, supported by source and method triangulation. Results indicate that instructional planning incorporates teaching modules, learning goal sequences, and character integration; however, classroom practice remains largely lecture-centered and media use is limited. Supporting factors include leadership support and conducive environmet. Challenges arise from ongoing curriculum adjustment, limited technology-based media, and inadequate facilities and infrastructure. These findings inform efforts to optimize Merdeka Belajar Curriculum practice in faith-based schools

Abstract

The book of Taisīril Khallāq is one of the books containing a summary of basic moral knowledge authored by Shaykh Hafidz Hasan Al-Mas'udi. The purpose of this study is to examine the values of moral education contained in the book of Taisīril Khallāq and analyze its relevance to Islamic education in the digital era. This research combines library research methods with a qualitative approach. By using content analysis as a method of data analysis, the analysis is carried out by examining carefully, namely by reading and evaluating the contents of the book of Taisīril Khallāq. Referring to the results obtained from the data analysis, the book of Taisīril Khallāq contains moral education values such as devotion to Allah SWT, morals to fellow human beings, including the obligations and rights of parents, family, and neighbors, manners in association, harmony, brotherhood, and meetings, as well as morals to oneself, including cleanliness, honesty, reliability, al-‘iffah, al-muru'ah, patience, generosity, tawadlu’, height of soul, and justice. These values include universal values so that they are relevant to Islamic education in the digital era because they can help students develop morals, develop personality, develop critical thinking skills, and develop effective communication skills. Therefore, moral education in the book of Taisīril Khallāq can be integrated in the Islamic education curriculum in the digital era.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the rampant cases of intolerance and radicalism that have spread in the world of education. Therefore, education, especially Islamic Religious Education, has a crucial role in promoting the values ​​of religious moderation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of the values ​​of religious moderation in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education learning at SMK Citra Bangsa Mandiri Purwokerto. This study uses a descriptive qualitative field research method with the research subjects being the principal, Islamic Religious Education & Guidance teachers, and class X students. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that teachers and class X students have implemented the values ​​of religious moderation in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education learning, including: 1. Tawassuṭ, including the habituation of holy book literacy, integration in Islamic Religious Education & Guidance learning. 2. I‘tidāl, including proportional and objective teacher assessment, through learning methods. 3. Tasamuh, including interactions between students and with teachers, the use of group work methods, and equal treatment of teachers towards all students. 4. Syura, includes the existence of rules before starting the lesson. 5. Qudwah, includes good teacher speech and behavior. 6. Muwaṭanah, includes the morning assembly. 7. I’tiraf al-‘urf, includes contextualization in the explanation of PAI & BP materials, there is no compulsion for non-Muslim students to wear the hijab

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effectiveness of using the peer tutor method in overcoming students' fiqh learning difficulties. This research uses a quantitative approach with the type of research Quasi Experimental, control group design. The population in this study were XII grade students at SMA N 1 Purwareja Klampok which amounted to 356 students. Sampling in this study using Purposive Sampling technique, namely class XII-H and XII-J with a total of 34 students each. The data collection technique was done through a questionnaire. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results of data testing through Mann Whitney show that the value of Sig. Asymp (2-tailed) = 0.001 (<0.05) which shows the difference in learning difficulties before and after treatment, with the questionnaire score after treatment lower than the score before treatment. This means that there is an effectiveness of using the peer tutor method in overcoming student learning difficulties at SMA N 1 Purwareja Klampok Banjarnegara.

Abstract

This study aims to apply a contextual approach in Islamic Religious Education learning to improve students' understanding and interest in learning at SMP NU Sunan Kalijaga Adiwerna. The use of a contextual approach in learning at school is the right step to help students relate Islamic teachings to students' daily lives in the real world. A contextual approach can also improve students' understanding and interest in learning because the learning materials taught by teachers are very relevant to life in the real world. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive field research type. The research was conducted through observation, interview, and documentation activities. The location of the research was at SMP NU Sunan Kalijaga Adiwerna with research subjects of two Islamic Religious Education teachers and grade IX students. The results of this study indicate that the application of a contextual approach in Islamic Religious Education learning to improve students' understanding and interest in learning at SMP NU Sunan Kalijaga Adiwerna applies seven learning components through three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation.
