Abstract

Recovery time after general anesthesia is a crucial factor in the postoperative recovery of neurosurgical patients. Delayed recovery time increases the risk of complications such as airway obstruction, hypoxemia, and aspiration. Several factors can influence recovery time, including duration of surgery, intraoperative blood loss, and the type of anesthetic used This study aims to analyze the factors associated with recovery time after general anesthesia in neurosurgical patients at Dr. Mohamad Soewandhie General Hospital, Surabaya. This research employs an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consists of 30 patients undergoing neurosurgery with general anesthesia. Data collection was conducted through direct observation and documentation review of patient medical records. Statistical analysis was performed using Spearman’s test and multiple linear regression to determine the most significant factors affecting recovery time. The study results indicate that duration of surgery and intraoperative blood loss significantly correlate with delayed recovery time (p=0.016 and p=0.035). Patients who underwent surgeries lasting more than four hours and experienced blood loss exceeding 1000 ml required more time to regain full consciousness compared to other groups. Conclusion: Duration of surgery is the most significant factor influencing recovery time after general anesthesia in neurosurgery. Therefore, careful monitoring of surgical duration and intraoperative blood loss is necessary to minimize delayed recovery risks.

As for the results of data analysis, the  rxy value was at (0.33), while for the rtable value at the 0.05 significance level it was (0.239). Because  rcount > rtable (0.33 > 0.239), this means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. These figures include Jean Piaget with his theory of cognitive development, Lev Vygotsky with his sociocultural theory, B.F. Skinner with behaviorism and programmed learning, Jerome Bruner with his theory of discovery learning, John Dewey with the concept of learning by doing, Howard Gardner with his theory of multiple intelligences, and David Ausubel with his theory of meaningful learning. Each of these theories offers a unique perspective on how humans learn and develop, which has shaped the foundation of modern educational practices. These theories complement one another and provide a comprehensive framework for understanding the learning process from various viewpoints: cognitive, social, behavioral, and constructivist.

Abstract

Public health problems in Indonesia are a challenge that requires serious attention from the government and the community itself. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the knowledge and attitude of the community in Kelurahan Pasir Mulya towards Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS). The research method involved a survey with 30 respondents carefully selected to represent the population in Kelurahan Pasir Mulya. Data was collected through interviews, written questionnaires, and direct observation with Likert and Guttman scale methods and analysis of the results. The results showed that although some of the community members have attitudes that support the implementation of PHBS, their knowledge is still limited especially related to the indicators of healthy latrines and smoking. Efforts are needed to increase awareness of the importance of maintaining cleanliness and health in the household environment. These findings emphasize the need for community education and empowerment in implementing PHBS to create a healthier environment and support community welfare. Therefore, further socialization and education are needed to support enthusiastic community attitudes regarding the implementation of PHBS to improve the quality of life and health of the community in Kelurahan Pasir Mulya. This research makes an important contribution in understanding the factors that influence community PHBS behavior and provides a basis for the development of more effective and sustainable public health programs.
