Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of interpersonal intelligence and organizational culture on employee performance at Factory Outlets in Bandung City. The phenomenon of decreasing number of visitors at several Factory Outlets indicates a challenge in service quality that is suspected to be related to human resource aspects. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 137 respondents from four Factory Outlets, then analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results of the analysis indicate that interpersonal intelligence and organizational culture have a significant influence simultaneously and partially on employee performance. The significance value of the F-test is 0.000 with an F count of 1601.703, while the results of the t-test show a t count value for interpersonal intelligence of 19.319 and organizational culture of 25.939, both of which far exceed the t table. Organizational culture has a dominant influence compared to interpersonal intelligence, but both complement each other in shaping effective work behavior. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening interpersonal intelligence such as empathy, communication, and teamwork and developing an organizational culture that emphasizes the values of discipline, adaptability, and participatory leadership. The resulting managerial implications include strengthening soft skills training, integrating values into recruitment and performance evaluation, and establishing a consistent work culture as a strategy to increase business competitiveness. This research provides a strategic contribution to human resource management in the customer service-based retail industry

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of learning agility on employee engagement with organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) as a mediating variable at the National Land Agency (BPN) in one of the districts in West Java Province. The research method used is descriptive verification with a quantitative approach, involving 65 employees as respondents through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using path analysis and the Sobel test to test the mediation effect. The results show that learning agility has a significant effect on employee engagement, both directly and indirectly through OCB as a mediator. The R Square value of 0.932 indicates that the combination of learning agility and OCB explains 93.2% of the variation in employee engagement. This finding emphasizes the importance of managerial strategies that encourage adaptive learning and strengthen organizational citizenship values in creating a productive, collaborative, and responsive work environment to change. This study provides a practical contribution to the development of public sector HR policies oriented towards increasing employee engagement through strengthening a learning-based and collaborative work culture

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of empowering leadership, overtime work, and overtime incentives on the job satisfaction of Generation Z employees at Kuningan Regency, with employee mental health as a mediating variable. The research was motivated by the fluctuating employee turnover rate over the past three years and increasing challenges in managing Gen Z employees. A quantitative approach was used, employing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) through AMOS. A total of 156 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The results showed that empowering leadership did not significantly affect mental health, but had a direct positive effect on job satisfaction. Overtime work had a positive effect on mental health but a negative effect on job satisfaction. Overtime incentives did not significantly affect mental health, but had both direct and indirect positive effects on job satisfaction through mental health. Mental health played a significant mediating role in the relationship between overtime work and overtime incentives with job satisfaction, but not in the relationship between empowering leadership and job satisfaction. The model demonstrated a good level of fit. These findings highlighted the importance of balanced management of overtime and incentives, as well as the critical role of mental health in improving Gen Z employee satisfaction.

Abstract

Background: Insourcing the internal performance of organisational functions has evolved from an operational choice to a strategic lever reflecting organisational culture, values, and long-term objectives. In healthcare, insourcing decisions influence service quality, member satisfaction, and operational efficiency, highlighting the need to align decisions with organisational culture. Objectives: This study investigated how organisational culture shaped insourcing decisions and compared the efficacy of the shared value and multi-sourced models in aligning cultural, strategic, and operational priorities. Methods: A qualitative, multiple case study design examined two Health Insurance companies in South Africa, HealthCare and WellTrust. Data were collected through document analysis of annual reports, strategic plans, and operational guidelines, complemented by secondary sources such as policy documents and industry analyses. Thematic analysis guided the identification of patterns in how organisational culture informed insourcing strategies. Results: HealthyCare, guided by a Shared Value Model, prioritises mission, values, and member-centric outcomes, resulting in high employee engagement and stakeholder satisfaction, with moderate operational efficiency. WellTrust, following a Multi-Sourced Model, emphasises performance metrics and capacity, achieving high operational efficiency but only moderate engagement and slightly lower stakeholder satisfaction. Comparative analysis suggests hybrid approaches, integrating cultural alignment with operational performance metrics, provide a balanced strategy for sustainable and effective insourcing. Conclusions: Organisational culture is critical in shaping insourcing decisions, which affect employee engagement, operational performance, and stakeholder satisfaction. The integration of Shared Value and Multi-Sourced approaches enabled the balance of cultural alignment with operational effectiveness, providing a structured framework to guide strategic, ethical, and sustainable decision-making in healthcare management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of compensation on employee performance with work motivation as a mediating variable at the Head Office of PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) in facing the challenges of the industry 4.0 era. The research approach used is quantitative with the path analysis method, supported by data processing using SPSS. The research sample consisted of 186 respondents selected using the Slovin formula from a population of 345 employees. The research instrument was a closed questionnaire using a 5-point Likert scale, and its validity and reliability were tested. The results showed that compensation significantly influenced employee motivation and performance, both directly and indirectly. Compensation had a direct effect on motivation with a coefficient of 0.857, and on performance by 0.669. Meanwhile, the indirect effect of compensation on performance through motivation was 0.342. The results of the Sobel test support that motivation is a significant mediating variable. These findings reinforce the importance of strategic and fair compensation design as a tool to encourage organizational productivity and adaptation in digital transformation. This study also reveals the need to strengthen non-financial compensation aspects and develop a work environment that supports intrinsic motivation for the sustainability of organizational performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the work environment on employee performance with motivation as a mediating variable at PT PLN (Persero) Disjabar, particularly under the auspices of UP3 Bandung, which is facing increasing customer complaints. The background of the study is based on the gap between PLN's positive macro performance achievements and the operational reality in the customer service unit. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a survey of 95 respondents selected proportionally from three ULPs, namely Cijawura, Kopo, and Ujung Berung. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using path analysis assisted by SPSS, including partial tests, simultaneous tests, and Sobel tests to examine the role of mediation. The results show that the work environment has a significant effect on employee motivation and performance. In addition, motivation is also proven to have a positive effect on performance and acts as a significant mediator in the relationship between the work environment and performance, although the direct influence of the work environment is more dominant. The novelty of this study lies in the finding that improvements in the physical, social, and psychological work environment are the main factors in improving performance, while motivation serves to strengthen and maintain the continuity of its impact. These findings provide practical implications that PLN needs to integrate strategies to improve the work environment with strengthening employee motivation to reduce customer complaints and improve service quality sustainably.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health or often referred to as OSH is the main pillar for the manufacturing industry to maintain employee welfare and productivity. This study analyzes the influence of motivation theory, specifically Maslow's needs theory, in improving workers' compliance with OSH implementation in Manufacture Company. The study employed a quantitative methodology approach through a data collection method involving 30 respondents from Manufacture Company. A Likert scale-based questionnaire was used to gather the data and SPSS 26 was used for analysis with validity, reliability, normality, and factor analysis tests. The results showed that five elements of motivation - physiological, safety, social, esteem, and self-actualization needs - had a significant influence on workers' compliance with OSH with the social needs element having the greatest influence. Thus, Maslow's needs theory is proven to have an influence in improving employee compliance with OSH implementation in industry.

Abstract

The growth of private vehicles in Greater Bandung, which will reach 2.2 million units by 2023, has made the region one of the most congested cities in Asia. The West Java Provincial Government responded to this problem by launching the Trans Metro Pasundan (TMP) program as Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)-based mass transportation through the Buy The Service (BTS) scheme. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of TMP management using the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) framework and review the application of planning ethics which includes procedural, communicative, environmental, economic, and social aspects. The research method used is qualitative with content analysis supported by the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) framework. The results show that although the TMP has been designed with a clear master plan, modern facilities, and affordable fares, the occupancy rate is still low (0.33%) due to limited socialization, minimal routes (only 5 corridors), subsidy dependency, and resistance from other modes of transportation. Institutional and political barriers such as cross-regional coordination, cross-period policy inconsistencies, and conflicts of interest with conventional transportation exacerbate the situation. Therefore, the success of TMP in realizing effective and sustainable public transportation depends heavily on policy consistency, route expansion, strengthening governance, and increasing public participation.
