Abstract

Response time is the time needed by patients to get help according to the emergency of their illness since entering the emergency room. Nurses' response time is often the cause of a patient experiencing anxiety. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a significant relationship between nurses' response time and patient anxiety levels in the emergency room of Murni Teguh Hospital Ciledug. This type of research is quantitative research with a cross-sectional study design. The sampling technique in this study was accidental sampling using the Slovin formula, so the sample in this study amounted to 100 respondents. Data analysis used the Spearman Rho test. The results of this study with the Spearman Rho test showed a relationship between response time and patient anxiety levels in the Emergency Room of Murni Teguh Ciledug Hospital with a p-value = 0.033 (<0.05). It is recommended to conduct further research with more samples and add variables of environmental conditions, types of diseases and previous experiences.

Abstract

Illness and hospitalization are often the first crises a child faces. The main stressors of hospitalization are separation, loss of bodily control, and pain. Children's reactions to these crises are influenced by developmental age, previous experiences, and separation. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a significant relationship between the role of parents and the level of anxiety of school-age children who were hospitalized at Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital, Medan. This type of research is quantitative research with a cross-sectional study design. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling using the Slovin formula, so the sample in this study amounted to 47 respondents. Data analysis used the Spearman Rho test. The results of this study with the Spearman Rho test showed a significant relationship between the role of parents and the level of anxiety of school-age children who were hospitalized at Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital, Medan with a p value = 0.000 (α <0.05) with a correlation coefficient (r) = -0.615, which means the relationship between the two variables is in the strong category. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the role of parents and the level of anxiety of school-age children who were hospitalized at Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital, Medan, with the relationship between the two variables in the strong category. As parental involvement increases, anxiety in school-age children experiencing hospitalization decreases. Future research is recommended to include variables related to anxiety in school-age children.

Abstract

One way to treat patients with heart disease is through percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Frequent problems in PCI patients include stress and a lack of knowledge about the procedure. Providing education is thought to increase knowledge and reduce stress. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of education on the knowledge and stress levels of pre-PCI patients. This research method is an analytical study using a one group pre and post-test design approach without a control group with a quasi-experimental research design. The study was conducted in the ICU Room of Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital. The population was 64 patients and the sample was obtained as many as 39 people. Sampling was by accidental sampling. The data used were primary data and secondary data. Analysis was carried out univariately and bivariately using the Paired Sample T-Test. The results showed that the characteristics of Pre PCI patients in the ICU Room of Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital were aged 51-60 years (38.5%), female (61.5%), had secondary education (high school) (46.2%), and worked (59.1%). Education influenced the level of knowledge of Pre PCI patients in the ICU of Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital, with p-value = 0.000 <0.05 and tcount = -27.870 > ttable (1.686), and influenced stress with p-value = 0.000 < 0.05 and the calculated t value = 11.922 > ttable (1.686). The conclusion of the study is that education has an effect on the level of knowledge and stress of Pre PCI patients. It is recommended that nurses always provide education to Pre PCI patients who will undergo cardiac catheterization so that patient knowledge increases and stress levels decrease.

Abstract

Cancer arises from uncontrolled cell growth, and chemotherapy is one of the therapies. This procedure carries the risk of extravasation, which can cause pain, ulcers, necrosis, and even permanent disability. This condition has the potential to trigger trauma and cause patients to discontinue therapy, ultimately hindering treatment success. Safe chemotherapy practices require nurses to be competent in preventing, recognizing, managing, and documenting extravasation incidents. This qualitative study used a phenomenological method at Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital. The sample size was selected using purposive sampling and interviews. This study yielded six themes regarding nurses' experiences in preventing extravasation in chemotherapy patients. It is concluded that this study identified six themes: (1) Dangers of extravasation, (2) Actions to prevent extravasation, (3) Things that can cause extravasation, (4) Ways to overcome extravasation, (5) Barriers to accessing the verifier vein, and (6) Ways to overcome barriers to accessing the verifier vein.

Abstract

factors can cause chronic kidney failure (CKD), including lifestyle. CKD patients require hemodialysis due to endocrine, metabolic, electrolyte fluid and acid-base disorders as a substitute for kidney function to remove metabolic waste that will impact the patient's quality of life. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between lifestyle and improving the quality of life of patients at Murni Teguh Sudirman Hospital, Jakarta. This research method is a quantitative correlation study with a Cross Sectional design. The sample in this study was 30 chronic kidney failure patients who had undergone hemodialysis with a Consecutive sampling technique. The instrument used was a KDQOL-SF questionnaire. Bivariate data analysis used the chi-square test. The results obtained a p value = 0.009 where the p value is smaller than the critical limit value of 0.05 (p < α), which means there is a significant relationship between lifestyle and quality of life in hemodialysis patients. It can be concluded that the lifestyle of hemodialysis patients is related to improving their quality of life.
