Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of work motivation and Quality of Work Life on Intention to Stay, mediated by organizational commitment. The population in this study consisted of 162 employees of the Public Service Agency (BLUD) at the Madiun City Regional General Hospital. The sampling technique used was proportional random sampling to ensure representative data. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software version 4.0. The results indicate that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment, while quality of work life also significantly enhances organizational commitment. Furthermore, organizational commitment significantly influences intention to stay. In addition, work motivation and quality of work life directly increase employees’ intention to stay. The mediation analysis shows that organizational commitment partially mediates the effect of work motivation and quality of work life on intention to stay. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening organizational commitment through improved motivation and quality of work life to retain employees in public healthcare institutions.

Abstract

The digital transformation through the implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is an important innovation in hospital information systems aimed at improving work efficiency, service quality, and administrative management. Nevertheless, the success of EMR implementation is strongly influenced by human factors, particularly job satisfaction and employees’ emotional attachment to the organization. Understanding employees’ responses to EMR-related changes is therefore essential to ensure successful organizational transformation in hospitals. This study employs a quantitative explanatory approach using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), supported by qualitative data obtained through interviews. The research population consists of all laboratory employees at Sultan Imanuddin Regional General Hospital (RSUD Sultan Imanuddin) Pangkalan Bun, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments were developed based on human resource management and health information system theories and include four main variables: changes in EMR implementation, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and employee performance. The results indicate that changes in EMR implementation have a direct positive effect on job satisfaction and employee performance. Meanwhile, the influence of EMR on organizational commitment occurs indirectly through job satisfaction as a mediating variable, highlighting the central role of job satisfaction in linking digital transformation with organizational commitment. Furthermore, job satisfaction positively affects both organizational commitment and employee performance. These findings demonstrate that successful EMR implementation depends not only on technological aspects but also on human resource readiness, satisfaction, and commitment, which are key drivers of performance improvement and service quality in the digital era of hospital management.

Abstract

A Employee commitment has become a critical concern for organizations operating in increasingly competitive and dynamic business environments. Beyond economic incentives, contemporary organizations are required to strengthen ethical values and social responsibility in human resource management to sustain long-term employment relationships. Organizational ethics and human resource social responsibility (HR-SR) have emerged as strategic dimensions that shape employees’ perceptions, attitudes, and psychological attachment to the organization. However, existing studies tend to examine these constructs separately, with limited efforts to synthesize their integrated role in enhancing employee commitment. This study aims to address this gap by conducting a comprehensive literature review on the role of organizational ethics and human resource social responsibility in fostering employee commitment.

Abstract

This study aims to conceptually integrate the principles of Islamic Business Management (IBM) with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the context of the global halal economy, emphasizing the importance of aligning Islamic ethical foundations with global sustainability agendas. Using a structured literature review approach, this study synthesizes scholarly contributions from the fields of Islamic management, sustainability, and halal industry studies to identify conceptual intersections and develop an integrative framework for sustainable halal business practices. The findings indicate that IBM, grounded in maqasid al-shari’ah, demonstrates a fundamental alignment with key SDG priorities, particularly in advancing social justice, inclusive economic growth, responsible consumption, and environmental preservation. The halal economy emerges as a practical and strategic domain in which these ethical values and global development objectives can be operationalized. This study contributes theoretically by bridging Islamic management discourse with contemporary sustainability frameworks and offers practical implications by providing guidance for policymakers, industry practitioners, and regulators in embedding sustainability principles within halal business ecosystems. By proposing a novel conceptual synthesis, this research positions the halal economy as an ethical, resilient, and sustainable model within the global marketplace.

Abstract

Healthcare is a fundamental aspect in improving the quality of life. Patient satisfaction is an important indicator that reflects the extent to which patients' needs and expectations regarding healthcare services are met during the treatment process. The data collection method used in this study was qualitative in nature, involving interviews and observations of patients' experiences with healthcare services. Findings regarding patient dissatisfaction with service flow, waiting times, and administrative inefficiencies align with the stress theory of patient satisfaction, which states that satisfaction occurs when the service received meets or exceeds patient expectations. When expectations are not met, patients feel dissatisfied and seek alternative services perceived as better. In this context, overseas healthcare services are perceived to provide more detailed, faster, and more organized services, which increases patient interest in seeking such services. The study concludes that healthcare providers should focus on improving service quality by addressing waiting times, service flow, and administrative processes to enhance patient satisfaction. This could reduce the growing trend of patients seeking treatment abroad. The findings suggest that improving patient care from a systemic and administrative perspective is essential for maintaining competitive healthcare services and retaining patients.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of managerial ability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on financial performance, while the moderating role of CEO tenure. Superior managerial ability manifests as a CEO’s capability to allocate resources efficiently, execute strategic decisions, and mitigate operational risks. Concurrently, CSR is recognized as a strategic instrument to build corporate legitimacy, enhance reputation, and foster long-term stakeholder relationships, which are theorized to improve financial outcomes. Despite these theoretical foundations, previous empirical findings remain inconsistent. This research proposes CEO tenure as a potential moderating factor, grounded in the premise that a longer tenure provides executives with deeper organizational insight and broader networks to optimize the impact of managerial skills and social initiatives. The research focuses on the basic materials sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2020–2024. This study utilizes secondary data obtained from audited annual reports and sustainability reports. Data analysis was conducted using panel data regression via EViews software. The empirical results demonstrate that managerial ability exerts a significant positive influence on financial performance, confirming that executive efficiency is a critical driver of corporate profitability within the sector. Conversely, CSR disclosure was found to have no significant effect on financial performance, suggesting that social responsibility initiatives may not be viewed as primary determinants of financial value by investors in the Indonesian basic materials industry during the observation period. Furthermore, the results indicate that CEO tenure fails to moderate the relationship between either managerial ability or CSR disclosure and financial performance. These findings imply that the efficacy of a CEO’s capability and social policies remains independent of their length of service. This study contributes to the strategic management literature by clarifying the internal drivers of performance in a volatile market context.

Abstract

Customers of McDonald's in Banjarmasin will be the subjects of an empirical study that aims to mediate the relationship between brand activism, perceived quality, and brand reputation and customer loyalty via the medium of customer happiness. The study's methodology was quantitative and based on a causal connection design. A total of 153 people met the inclusion criteria of being at least 18 years old and having bought McDonald's items at least three times. This selection was done via purposive sampling. A questionnaire was used to gather data, which was then analyzed using SmartPLS software and Partial Least Squares (PLS). Brand activism, perceived quality, reputation, and customer happiness are the factors that have the most impact on brand loyalty, according to the data. Having said that, consumer pleasure is unaffected by brand reputation.
