Abstract

This study aims to analyze the scientific approach in Islamic religious education learning. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research. This study was conducted at SMP N 23 Rejang Lebong with the subjects of this study being all Islamic religious education teachers and students of SMP N 23 Rejang Lebong. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of the study indicate that teachers' understanding, implementation, and evaluation of Islamic religious education learning using the scientific approach are good. Teachers' understanding of the scientific approach is evident from their knowledge of the steps and principles of the scientific approach. The implementation of learning using the scientific approach carried out by teachers is also in accordance with the steps of the scientific approach. Teachers observe students regarding what they will do, ask if there is a problem or there is material that is not clear, manage the class such as raising problems, asking students to explain what they understand, providing feedback, concluding and finally making connections to everyday life. The assessment or evaluation process in the scientific approach carried out by teachers has used authentic assessment where teachers make assessments on cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects.

Abstract

The urgency of this research lies in the importance of learning Islamic Cultural History (ISH), which not only conveys historical information but is also rich in Islamic values ​​that can shape students' character, morality, and religious insight. This study aims to analyze the problems faced by seventh- grade students of MTsN 1 Bengkalis in learning Islamic Cultural History (ISH), particularly in the aspect of understanding the material. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design to explore the subjective experiences of teachers and students during the learning process. The study population included 32 ISH students and 3 ISH teachers, with a purposive sampling technique to select participants based on their direct experiences in ISH learning. Data collection instruments consisted of semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed thematically by identifying key themes such as difficulties in understanding historical figures, obstacles in memorizing chronology, and limitations of visual media. The results showed that students' difficulties were caused by low reading interest, monotonous teaching methods, limited learning media, and time constraints. In addition, students' emotional and cognitive factors also influenced their understanding of historical material. Data validation was conducted through triangulation of sources and techniques, as well as member checking to ensure the validity of the results. As a solution, the implementation of varied learning methods such as storytelling, group discussions, and the use of technology-based interactive media is recommended to increase student engagement and understanding. These findings are expected to be contribution to improving SKI learning strategies to be more effective, contextual, and enjoyable in madrasas.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of moral decline recently affecting several generations of teenagers. Symptoms of moral decline include the spread of cases of drug abuse, promiscuity, crime, violence, and other less than commendable behavior. Even the behavior of acts of violence lately is so viral and has become a concern, which is carried out by teenagers. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of Islamic religious education teachers in building student character. This study used descriptive qualitative research, while data collection techniques were carried out through a literature review. The results of this study indicate that the supporting and inhibiting factors of Islamic religious education teachers in fostering student character, namely in terms of supporting factors are the family environment and conducive school environment and the existence of communication between teachers and parents of students while the inhibiting factors usually occur due to the lack of awareness of students about the importance of character values ​​and the environmental conditions in which students live and also their peers in society.
