Abstract

Religious education plays a crucial role in fostering tolerance in students, particularly in schools with diverse religions and cultures. Through teaching, familiarization, role modeling, and collaboration between teachers, religious education fosters character in students, enabling them to live harmoniously and respect differences. At Methodist Elementary School in Banda Aceh, the religious diversity of Muslim and Christian students presents a valuable educational opportunity. Despite their differing beliefs, students continue to live harmoniously and respect each other thanks to the consistent guidance and development provided by Islamic and Christian Religious Education teachers. This study aims to determine the efforts of religious teachers in instilling values ​​of tolerance and how these tolerance attitudes are implemented in the school environment. The method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and verification. Data validity was maintained through triangulation of methods, time, and sources to ensure the authenticity of the findings. The results of the study indicate that Islamic and Christian Religious Education teachers at Methodist Elementary School in Banda Aceh strive to instill the values ​​of tolerance through various means, including classroom learning that emphasizes the values ​​of love, empathy, and respect for differences; joint religious activities that strengthen togetherness; daily habits such as helping each other and working together; integration of tolerance values ​​in teaching materials; and regular evaluation and monitoring of student character development. The efforts made by these teachers have proven effective in building a culture of tolerance in the school environment. Through the synergy between learning, role models, and habits, Methodist Elementary School in Banda Aceh becomes a real example of tolerance-based character education practices that are able to foster a harmonious atmosphere amidst diversity.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the implementation of multicultural education in the education system in Indonesia, as well as its impact on character formation and tolerance among students. In this research, a qualitative approach was used with a case study method in several schools that implemented a multicultural education curriculum. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, students, as well as analysis of curriculum documents and school activities. The research results show that multicultural education plays an important role in increasing students' understanding of cultural, racial and religious diversity, as well as strengthening attitudes of tolerance and mutual respect between each other. However, challenges in its implementation include a lack of in-depth understanding of the concept of multiculturalism among educators, as well as limited facilities that support optimal implementation of the program. This research suggests the need for more intensive training for teachers and the development of supporting resources in order to create a more inclusive and harmonious educational environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of the Asmaul Husna values ​​in the development of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum and its implications for the formation of students' character. The approach used is a qualitative literature study method, which involves a critical review of various scientific sources, books, and educational policy documents. The results of the study indicate that the Asmaul Husna values—such as justice (al-'Adl), compassion (Ar-Rahman), and wisdom (Al-Hakim) —have a significant role in strengthening the moral and spiritual dimensions of students. These values ​​contribute to the development of characters such as discipline, responsibility, moral integrity, and religiosity. The process of internalizing values ​​takes place through three main stages, namely transformation, transaction, and trans internalization, which involve synergy between teachers, curriculum, and school culture. In addition, the use of learning technologies such as mobile applications and online platforms is considered effective in contextualizing the Asmaul Husna values ​​in an interesting and relevant way to the digital world of students. This study concludes that the integration of the values ​​of Asmaul Husna in the Islamic Religious Education curriculum is a strategic and transformative approach in responding to the challenges of character education in the modern era and strengthening the ethical and spiritual foundations in the Islamic education system.

Abstract

This paper aims to determine whether Islamic religious education influences the formation of students' morals. This study uses a qualitative approach that is library research in nature. The data analysis method used is a descriptive analysis method carried out through the process of explaining and describing the influence of Islamic religious education in the formation of students' morals clearly, objectively and critically. The conclusion of this study is that Islamic religious education influences the formation of students' morals. This is based on the fact that Islamic religious education functions to provide and accommodate education about faith and morals as the main fundamental things in the formation of good morals or morals. The influence of Islamic religious education in the formation of students' morals is seen in the material delivered in the form of religion obtained from faith, laws in daily worship obtained from fiqh, guidelines for behavior obtained from moral education, life examples obtained from the history of previous peoples and life guidelines obtained from the Qur'an as the holy book of Muslims and As-Sunnah as well as through examples exemplified by teachers in everyday life.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance children's religious awareness through the teaching of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) on ablution (ablution) and prayer in Desa Baru, Aceh Tamiang Regency. The main issue addressed is the low level of understanding among children regarding the correct procedures of ablution and prayer, which impacts the quality of their daily worship. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation during the educational program implemented within the KKN activities. The research findings indicate a significant improvement in children's understanding and practice of worship after participating in the fiqh ablution and prayer learning program. Children who previously had limited knowledge of essential aspects of ablution and prayer became more disciplined in performing their religious duties. Additionally, there was an increase in their motivation to learn more about religion, and positive behavioral changes were observed, particularly in maintaining cleanliness before prayer and punctuality in performing prayers. In conclusion, this fiqh learning program had a positive impact on enhancing children's religious awareness in Desa Baru

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a strategic role in developing a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent but also possesses faith and noble morals. One relevant approach is the integration of science and religion, which aims to align spiritual values ​​with scientific advancement. This integration is based on the concept of monotheism as a foundation, which affirms that there is no contradiction between God's revelation and true science. In the context of PAI, this integration can be realized through the study of Quranic verses relevant to scientific phenomena, the teaching of scientific ethics based on Islamic values, and a contextual learning approach. With this approach, students are expected not only to understand Islamic teachings in depth but also to be able to apply them in social life. However, this integration faces various challenges, such as curriculum gaps and limited competency of educators. Therefore, synergy is needed between educational institutions, educators, and educational policies to realize a holistic education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) Learning Islamic religious education in the 8th grade of ‎SMP Muhammadiyah Simpang Empat, 2) The formation of religious character in 8th ‎grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah Simpang Empat, and 3) The influence of ‎Islamic religious education learning on the formation of religious character in 8th grade ‎students at SMP Muhammadiyah Simpang Empat for the 2019/2020 school year. This ‎research uses a quantitative approach and descriptive research type. The population in ‎this study were students of grade 8, amounting to 139 people with the sample used as ‎many as 46 people. The data collection tools use questionnaires, observations, and ‎documentation. The previous questionnaire was tried out and tested for validity and ‎reliability testing. The data analysis technique used the product moment correlation and ‎the coefficient of determination. The research results can be concluded as follows: 1) ‎Learning Islamic religious education in the 8th grade of SMP Muhammadiyah Simpang ‎Empat is included in the “low” category with an average score of 35.20, 2) The ‎formation of religious character in 8th grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah Simpang ‎Empat is included in the “medium” category with an average score of 42.24, and 3) ‎There is significant influence between learning Islamic religious education on the ‎formation of religious character in 8th grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah Simpang ‎Empat for the 2019/2020 school year. This is proven by the calculation of rcount of ‎‎0.850. At a significance level of 5% or α= 0.05, the r table value is 0.297. Because the ‎value of rcount ≥ rtable is 0.850 ≥ 0.297, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted which ‎says there is a significant influence between learning Islamic religious education on the ‎formation of religious character in 8th grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah Simpang ‎Empat.‎

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a crucial role in shaping students' character and spirituality, as well as equipping them with practical skills useful in community life. Among these crucial skills, the embalming of the body a collective obligation (fardhu kifayah) in Islam—is rarely taught in- depth in schools. Beyond providing religious knowledge, this skill also strengthens students' sense of social responsibility within the Muslim community. This community service program aims to improve the understanding and skills of students at Muhammadiyah 25 Pamulang High School in carrying out embalming of the body through Participatory Action Research (PAR)-based training. The PAR approach allows students to actively engage in practical learning, where they not only learn theory but also practice each stage of embalming the body, from washing and shrouding to burial, in accordance with Islamic law. The training results show a significant increase in students' skills and understanding, as well as an increased awareness of their social responsibility as members of the Muslim community. In addition to improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, this program serves as a model for applicable and participatory education, which is expected to be continuously integrated into the school curriculum. By providing hands-on experience and understanding of religious obligations, this training equips students with valuable life skills and prepares them to actively contribute to society, in accordance with core Islamic values. The program also demonstrates the potential of a PAR-based approach to creating a sustainable and impactful model of religious education in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze effective strategies for improving the competency of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers through a continuous professional development program. PAI teacher competency is crucial in shaping the character and religious values ​​of students. However, there are still challenges in implementing appropriate programs to improve these competencies, especially in an era of rapid change and the needs of 21st- century education. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method in several secondary schools that have implemented professional development programs. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, which were then analyzed thematically. The results showed that effective competency development strategies encompass several key aspects, namely: technology-based training, collaboration between teachers, coaching through academic supervision, and providing constructive feedback. In addition, the involvement of school principals and education supervisors plays a significant role in creating an environment that supports continuous learning for PAI teachers. A planned and structured continuous professional development program can improve PAI teachers' understanding of innovative learning methods and their ability to face challenges in the classroom. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of implementing systematic and sustainable strategies to improve PAI teacher competency in order to achieve better educational goals.

Abstract

This writing presents a comparison between the institutions a madrasah with non-madrasah agencies available in the area. Neither the madrasah nor non-madrasah institutions are actually as good. But it has its distinct preeminence between such agencies that makes its own appeal. The purpose of this writing was to find out why the madrasah educational institutions were more of a society than non-madrasah educational societies besides, becoming the favorite and whether the curriculum in madrasah educational institutions and non-madrasah education are the same or different. So we as writers are particularly interested in examining the comparative study between the madrasah and non-madrasah educational society. In this study the writers have used field research because the main data source used by the writers to take down the problem has to be collected in data fields, and to support it. In this article, the writer also uses other sources of literature, where the writers use various books, journals and research associated with this study.
