Abstract

ABSTRACTInvolving fairy tales and traditional stories in teaching is an effective method to increase children’s literacy skills and cognitive development. Rich narratives, moral lessons, and cultural contexts found in folktales contribute to children's reading comprehension, vocabulary expansion, and overall engagement with reading. Based on these statements, a recent community service program conducted by the Literacy in Education course at President University staged a play performance of the Indonesian folktale Malin Kundang for elementary school students. This program was conducted at the President University Auditorium to commemorate Indonesia's National Children's Day. The program was collaboratively organized by students and lecturers from diverse majors. The participants of the program comprised first to third grade elementary school students from the Jababeka area in West Java, members of the Faculty of Humanities, and students from the Primary School Teacher Education study program. The children responded very positively to the activity, gaining memorable lessons on moral values and love of fairy tales. Furthermore, the collaboration between lecturers and students enhanced skills in teamwork, creativity, and shared social responsibility. In light of the findings, the integration of fairy tales into educational programs stands as a promising approach to literacy and character education in children.Keywords: fairy tales, literacy development, moral values, community service

Abstract

Distance learning (PJJ) began to be implemented by the Ministry of Education and Culture in Circular No. 4 of 2020 concerning the implementation of education policies in the emergency period of the spread of coronavirus Disease (Covid-19). From the distance learning program as a government policy. Researchers found a phenomenon that appeared in Wanayasa village, especially in SPS schools in Wanayasa Village which experienced many obstacles when carrying out the PJJ program. The purpose of this Community Service is to provide solutions for parents, teachers, and school principals in overcoming and growing interest in early childhood learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The method that the researcher provides in this community service activity uses a socialization and education approach with presentation and consultation methods to parents, teachers, and school principals. The results of the socialization and education activities for SPS schools in Wanayasa Village are that parents and teachers who participate in this socialization have been able to overcome how to grow children's interest in learning during distance learning at home, as well as teachers can overcome obstacles that will be faced when implementing the program. PJJ. The results of this socialization and education activity indicate that there is an increase in knowledge in how to foster interest in early childhood learning during the pandemic with distance learning (PJJ)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penggunaan media kartu bergambar berbasis QR Code men ingkatkan hasil belajar siswa berupa keterampilan menulis mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Fokus pada penelitian ini adalah fokus proses dan fokus hasil. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 35 Sangtempe Kec Curio Kab Enrekang dengan subjek penelitian yaitu guru dan siswa kelas V SD Negeri 35 Sangtempe tahun ajaran 2022/2023 yang berjumlah 12 siswa, terdiri dari 9 siswa laki-laki dan 3 siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak 2 siklus dengan masing-masing siklus 2 pertemuan. Setiap siklus meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Dari pelaksanaan diperoleh data yang dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi, tes hasil belajar dan dokumentasi. Pada siklus I hasil penelitian observasi aktivitas siswa berada pada kualifikasi cukup (C), observasi aktivitas guru berada pada kualifikasi baik (B), dan hasil tes belajar berada pada kualifikasi cukup (C). Sedangkan pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan, dimana hasil penelitian observasi aktivitas siswa berada pada kualifikasi baik (B), observasi aktivitas guru berada pada kualifikasi baik (B), dan hasil tes belajar berada pada kualifikasi baik (B). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan media kartu bergambar berbasis QR Code dapat meningkatkan proses dan hasil belajar siswa mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia kelas V SD Negeri 35 Sangtempe Kec Curio Kab Enrekang.
