This article examines the relevance of the concept of heart-based education embedded in the book Nashaihul ‘Ibad by Sheikh Nawawi al-Bantani to Indonesia's national character education program. The study is motivated by the challenges of moral and cultural degradation and consumerism in the modern era. Using a qualitative approach with a literature study, this article analyzes the ethical educational values centered on the purification of the soul (tazkiyat al-nafs) and compares them with the pillars of national character education. The findings indicate that Sheikh Nawawi’s teachings focused on cultivating honest, responsible, and simple Islamic character can serve as a robust theoretical foundation and practical model to strengthen Indonesia’s national education system in producing human resources with noble character. This research conducts a critical examination of Tafsir al-Qummi by ‘Ali bin Ibrahim al-Qummi (d. 307 H), a foundational work representing the narrative consolidation phase of Imami Shi’ism in the Classical Era. The paper argues that Tafsir al-Qummi, written amid political oppression and the Occultation, successfully established the Shi’i theological and fiqhi identity by positioning Ahlulbayt traditions as the primary exegetical authority. However, its near-exclusive reliance on pure narration (riwā'ī) renders it vulnerable to authenticity critiques. This critical study employs Tafsir al-Mizan by Sayyid Muhammad Husain Tabataba’i (d. 1402 H) as a methodological benchmark. Al-Mizan represents the modern phase, which prioritizes the synthesis of intellect and text (Al-Qur’an bi Al-Qur’an). A comparative analysis of three crucial case studies, the Verse of Wilāyah (Q 5:55), the law of Mut’ah (Q 4:24), and gender relations (Qawwāmah) (Q 4:34), reveals an epistemological shift. It is found that while Al-Qummi focuses on narrative and ideological assertion, Al-Mizan maintains the Shi’i doctrinal conclusions but revolutionizes the process by providing philosophical, sociological, and rational justifications. This evolution marks a shift in exegetical authority from a historical-traditional basis to a universal-intellectual one within the Imami Shi’i tradition. Al-Mizan mewakili fase modern yang memprioritaskan sintesis akal dan teks (Al-Qur'an bi Al-Qur'an). Analisis komparatif atas tiga studi kasus krusial, Ayat Wilayah (QS 5:55), hukum Mut'ah (QS 4:24), dan relasi gender (Qawwāmah) (QS 4:34), menunjukkan sebuah pergeseran epistemologis.

This study examines how state instruments regulate gender discourse through religious and legal discourse on polygamy by elaborating Michel Foucault's concept of the power of knowledge and Teun A. van Dijk's Critical Discourse Analysis. Focusing on the Qur'an and its translation (the official state translation), the 1974 Marriage Law, and the 1991 Compilation of Islamic Law, this study reveals how these texts collectively construct a patriarchal regime of truth that legitimises male authority and marginalises female agency. The translation of Alquran Al-Nisā` (4:3) reinforces a male-centred reading, which is then codified into the state constitution, describing polygamy as legal and valid based on the administrative concept of ‘justice’. Departing from Foucault's basic assumption, this study shows that sacred texts and laws operate as technologies of power that regulate moral and gender relations in the name of religion and national order, thus demanding critical and gender-equitable reform in the interpretation of the Quran and Family Law.

This study aims to analyze the Kitabisa Voluntrip Program as a form of travel-based social activity, using the perspective of Fiqh Muamalah as the basis of its analysis. This research approach is qualitative with a descriptive-analytical method that aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the relevance between the principles of Fiqh Muamalah and the implementation of social activities in the program. Data is collected through literature studies, involving relevant primary and secondary sources, in order to build a theoretical and conceptual framework that supports this study. The results showed that the implementation of the Kitabisa Voluntrip Program is in line with the values of Fiqh Muamalah, especially in the aspects of social empowerment, solidarity, and the benefit of the people, which reflect the principles of justice, balance, and sincere intentions in doing business. These findings make a significant contribution in expanding the understanding of the integration of Islamic values in travel-based social activities, as well as opening up opportunities for the development of similar programs that are more in line with sharia principles.
