Abstract

Ibn Thufail, a 12th-century Islamic philosopher and intellectual, made significant contributions to the tradition of philosophical thought, especially in relation to rationalism, metaphysics, and the relationship between religion and philosophy. His greatest work, Hayy bin Yaqzan, describes the intellectual journey of a man who finds knowledge and understanding of God through rational observation and reflection, without the aid of revelation or external authority. Ibn Thufail's thought reflects an attempt to bridge the world of Greek philosophy with the tradition of Islamic thought, as well as providing insight into the relationship between reason and revelation. This article analyzes the main ideas in Ibn Thufail's thought, including the concept of creation, human existence, and the search for ultimate truth. Through a critical examination of Hayy bin Yaqzan, this paper aims to explore the relevance of Ibn Thufail's thought in the context of contemporary philosophical thought and its contribution to the development of Islamic philosophy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Islamic financial literacy on saving decisions at Islamic banks for Generation Z students at Trunojoyo Madura University (UTM). Islamic financial literacy is an important aspect in supporting financial behavior in accordance with Islamic principles, especially among the younger generation. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method through distributing questionnaires to active UTM students who fall into the Generation Z category. The data obtained were analyzed using simple linear regression to determine how much influence Islamic financial literacy has on saving decisions. The results showed that Islamic financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on saving decisions at Islamic banks. This finding indicates that the higher the students' understanding of the concept of Islamic finance, the more likely they are to choose Islamic banks as a place to save. Therefore, increasing Islamic financial literacy needs to be a concern in order to support the development of the Islamic banking industry in Indonesia.

Abstract

The rise of social media as a digital expression space has created significant opportunities for the dissemination of feminist discourse, particularly through digital feminism. This movement leverages platforms like TikTok and Instagram to advocate for gender equality, dismantle patriarchal norms, and promote women's rights. However, in predominantly Muslim societies such as Indonesia, digital feminism often clashes with Islamic values, especially when addressing sensitive issues like the hijab, polygamy, and women’s domestic roles. This study aims to examine the narratives of digital feminism from the perspective of Islamic moderation (wasathiyah), in order to find a middle ground between gender justice and Islamic principles. Using a qualitative approach and critical discourse analysis of social media content and Muslim audience responses, the study finds that digital feminist narratives tend to emphasize absolute freedom and frequently portray Islam as inherently patriarchal. Conversely, the moderate Islamic approach highlights justice, balance, and partnership between men and women. The findings suggest that wasathiyah offers a constructive framework for dialogue between Islamic values and gender equality struggles in the digital space. Therefore, there is a need for educational and alternative narratives that integrate sharia values with principles of social justice, so that gender discourse on social media can become more contextual, balanced, and unbiased.
