Abstract

Background. In the era of the independent learning curriculum, the use of appropriate learning media is very important in supporting an effective learning process, especially for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Budi Pekerti subjects. This research was conducted at State Junior High School 3 Sumberjaya, which previously faced problems such as student indiscipline, cheating, lack of respect for teachers, and low student interest in joining school organizations. Purpose. This research aims to identify appropriate learning media for PAI and Budi Pekerti in the independent learning curriculum, analyze the obstacles in its implementation, and find solutions to overcome these obstacles. Method. The research used is observation, interview, documentation and qualitative research type with descriptive approach. The results of data analysis in this study use the data collection stage, reduction stage, presentation stage, verification stage and conclusion drawing. Results. The results revealed that audiovisual, visual, and audio learning media are effective types of media in learning PAI and Budi Pekerti in the independent learning curriculum. The obstacles faced include the lack of teacher insight in using learning media, limited economic resources, and lack of student cooperation. Proposed solutions include teacher training on making practical, economical, and creative learning media, and collaboration with parents. Conclusion. The appropriate learning media in the independent curriculum for learning PAI and Budi Pekerti are audiovisual, visual, and audio media. To overcome this, teachers need to attend training and collaborate with parents in developing and using learning media effectively.

Abstract

Background. Technology has an important role in learning media, including the use of Facebook Group applications as online learning media. This study focuses on learning Aqidah Akhlak at Darussalam Dharmasraya Islamic Boarding School. Purpose. This study aims to explore the use of Facebook Groups as an online learning medium, identify the advantages and obstacles faced, and measure their effectiveness in increasing students' understanding of Aqidah Akhlak subjects. Method. This research uses quantitative methods with survey models and in-depth interviews. The survey was conducted online with 20 teachers as respondents, and an in-depth interview was conducted with one of the teachers who used Facebook Groups in learning. Results. The results showed that the use of Facebook Groups in learning Aqidah Akhlak was very effective. As many as 100% of teachers understand how to use this application, and 70% agree that Facebook Groups are very useful as a learning medium. However, there are several obstacles such as the need for internet quota and a stable network. Conclusion. Facebook groups as online learning media are very helpful for the teaching and learning process, especially in increasing students' understanding and enthusiasm for learning. Despite some technical obstacles, the app remains an effective solution in distance learning. The research suggests that the use of Facebook Groups be further integrated into the learning curriculum to maximize the benefits of technology in education.

Abstract

Background. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted various aspects of life, including education. The Padang city mosque imam cadre school applies face-to-face and compulsory boarding methods of memorizing the Quran to overcome the limitations of physical interaction. Purpose. This study aims to understand the behavior of elementary school students towards memorizing the Quran during the COVID-19 pandemic and identify the challenges faced. Method. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The subjects of the study included principals and teachers at the mosque imam cadre school in the city of Padang. Results. The results showed that despite the limitations due to the pandemic, students remained enthusiastic in memorizing the Quran. The face-to-face use of wahdah methods and living in dormitories help students maintain their memorization. However, students' motivations vary and some students show a decrease in enthusiasm in memorizing the Quran. Conclusion. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected students' behavior in memorizing the Quran. Nonetheless, with proper support and supervision from teachers and living in dormitories, students can maintain their memorization. It takes constant motivation and support from the surrounding environment to keep students' enthusiasm in memorizing the Quran.

Abstract

Background. Learning Arabic is often considered difficult and uninteresting by some students. This encourages educators to look for innovative ways to increase students' interest in learning. One way that can be done is to utilize technology in learning, one of which is the Canva application. Canva is an online application that can be used to design various learning media with a variety of attractive templates, as well as a variety of shapes, images, colors, and fonts. Purpose. This study aims to describe the use of the Canva application as an effort to increase students' interest in learning Arabic. Through the use of Canva, it is hoped that students can be more interested and motivated in learning Arabic, especially in the context of distance learning. Method. This research uses library research methods. The literature sources used are journals and books relevant to this research topic. The analysis was conducted by reviewing various literature sources that discuss the use of Canva applications in the development of learning media, especially e-modules for Arabic. Results. The results showed that the Canva app can be used to create attractive e-modules for students. The process of using it includes creating a Canva account, designing modules, selecting and editing backgrounds, adding text, and downloading or sharing design results. By using Canva, students can produce more interesting Arabic teaching materials, so learning becomes more interactive and fun. Conclusion. The use of the Canva application in making e-modules can increase students' interest in learning Arabic. An attractive and interactive design can make learning materials more lively and not boring, especially in the context of distance learning. Therefore, Canva can be one of the innovative solutions in the development of effective learning media.

Abstract

Background. Arabic language learning faces challenges in engaging students due to the traditional methods employed. With the advent of digital transformation, there is potential to enhance this learning experience. This study explores the integration of digital tools, specifically the Canva application, into Arabic language education to increase student interest and engagement. Purpose. The primary aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of using the Canva application as a digital tool to enhance students' interest in learning Arabic. Method. This study employs a qualitative research methodology. Data was gathered through descriptive analysis, focusing on the experiences and outcomes of using Canva in Arabic language learning. The research involved direct observations and interviews with Arabic language teachers and students to gather relevant insights. Results. The findings indicate that the use of Canva significantly enhances the learning experience. Students showed increased interest and engagement in Arabic lessons when digital media, like Canva, was used. Teachers reported that Canva's interactive and visually appealing templates made lessons more enjoyable and easier to understand for students. The application facilitated better retention of vocabulary and concepts through creative visual aids. Conclusion. Integrating digital tools like Canva into Arabic language learning can substantially improve student engagement and interest. The positive response from both students and educators suggests that such tools are effective in modernizing traditional learning methods. This study underscores the importance of digital transformation in educational practices and encourages the adoption of innovative teaching aids to enhance learning outcomes.
