Abstract

Work fatigue is a major occupational health and safety concern because it increases the risk of work-related accidents and decreases overall performance. Fatigue is a complex condition that includes not only physical and psychological exhaustion but also reduced physical performance, feelings of tiredness, decreased motivation, and lower work productivity. Many factors can influence work fatigue, such as individual characteristics including age, gender, length of service, and nutritional status, as well as job-related factors like workload, work environment, and working time arrangements, particularly shift work. This study aimed to determine the relationship between worker age and work shifts with work fatigue among security personnel at PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Lahendong Area. The research used a quantitative approach with an analytic observational design and applied a cross-sectional study method. Data collection was carried out in June 2023 involving 71 security workers as respondents.Statistical analysis was conducted to examine the correlation between age and work fatigue and between work shifts and work fatigue. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between age and work fatigue, indicated by a p-value of 0,640. Similarly, the analysis of work shifts and fatigue showed no statistically significant relationship, with a p-value of 0,082. Although the correlation coefficient for work shifts and fatigue was 0.496, no significant association, the result did not reach statistical significance. In conclusion, this study found that worker age and work shift were not significantly associated with work fatigue among security workers at PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Lahendong Area overall.

Abstract

Occupational noise exposure in industrial environments serves as a physical stressor contributing to non-auditory health disorders, including elevated blood pressure. This study aims to analyze the association between noise intensity and the use of Hearing Protection Devices (HPD) with blood pressure among cleaning workers in the turbine and boiler areas of PT PLN Nusantara Power UP Paiton. The research employed an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 52 cleaning workers selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected by measuring noise intensity using a Sound Level Meter, assessing blood pressure before and after work shifts using a digital sphygmomanometer, and administering questionnaires regarding HPD usage. The results indicated that most noise intensity measurements in the work area exceeded the Threshold Limit Value (85 d.). Bivariate analysis using the Chi-square test showed a statistically significant association between noise intensity and systolic blood pressure (p = 0.008) and diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.016). In addition, HPD usage was also significantly associated with blood pressure (p = 0.015). This study concludes that high noise exposure and inconsistent HPD use are associated with increased blood pressure among workers. It is recommended that the company strengthen HPD compliance supervision and implement regular cardiovascular health monitoring.

Abstract

Health promotion in hospitals is an important component of health services that emphasizes not only curative and rehabilitative efforts, but also promotive and preventive approaches. At RSIA 'Aisyiyah Samarinda, the implementation of health promotion still faces several challenges, including the suboptimal use of digital media as a tool for health education, gaps in health information among patients and their families, and the frequent occurrence of minor illnesses such as common cold and Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI). In addition, the utilization of digital health services, such as the Mobile JKN application, remains limited due to a lack of public understanding regarding its functions and benefits. This study aims to design, implement, and evaluate a digital media-based health promotion program at RSIA 'Aisyiyah Samarinda using the Precede–Proceed framework with a qualitative descriptive approach through a field study.  The research stages included field orientation, identification of common health problems, program planning using the SMART principle within a Plan of Action (POA), implementation through Instagram, and evaluation covering process, impact, and outcomes. The program is scheduled to be implemented in September 2025, focusing on health education related to common cold, ARI, and the use of the Mobile JKN application. The results indicate that Instagram effectively reaches a broader audience and increases engagement. Evaluations show improved health knowledge, short-term behavior changes, and better understanding of digital health services, highlighting its effectiveness in hospital-based health promotion.

Abstract

Hypertension is a major non-communicable disease that is often undiagnosed and can lead to serious complications. Pucangan Village has the highest number of hypertension cases in the Kartasura Community Health Center area, highlighting the need to improve management, especially among working patients. This study aimed to explore factors influencing medication adherence in working hypertensive patients using a descriptive qualitative approach. A total of 22 informants were involved, including 10 primary informants (5 adherent and 5 non-adherent patients) and 12 triangulation informants (10 family members and 2 Posyandu cadres/officers). Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed qualitatively through transcription, reduction, coding, categorization, and theme development, with validity ensured by source triangulation. The results show that Posyandu serves as an initial screening point, with referrals to health centers for further care. Medication adherence is influenced by workload, time constraints, patient perceptions, and irregular medication use, while family support and the role of Posyandu cadres are important in improving adherence.

Abstract

Chronic exposure to dust in the brick industry work environment has the potential to increase the risk of systemic inflammation and respiratory disorders, which can be identified through C-Reactive Protein (CRP) levels as an inflammation biomarker. This study aims to describe CRP levels in brick industry workers as an early detection step for inflammatory processes and a basis for preventing work-related health risks. In this descriptive study, 40 brick workers in Banyumas Regency were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, with examinations conducted at the Medical Laboratory Technology Laboratory of UMP. CRP levels were measured using the latex agglutination method on blood samples, and data analysis considered respondent characteristics such as use of personal protective equipment (PPE), smoking habits, age, and duration of work. The results showed that most workers did not use PPE (38 people) and had smoking habits (33 people), but the majority showed negative CRP results (39 people), with only 1 worker experiencing elevated CRP at titer 1:2 with a level of 12 IU/mL. This study concludes that most brick industry workers have not experienced acute systemic inflammation, while factors such as age and lifestyle are suspected to play a role in elevated CRP levels in certain individuals.

Abstract

Drug logistics management is essential in the health service system to ensure the availability of medicines in the appropriate type, quantity, time, and quality. Ineffective drug logistics management can lead to medicine stockouts and reduced service quality. Sigi Regency in Central Sulawesi Province still faces challenges in the availability of essential medicines, which remains below 80% of the strategic plan target. This study aims to analyze drug logistics management at the Pharmaceutical Installation of the Sigi Regency Health Office, covering planning, procurement, storage, distribution, disposal, and control of medicines. This study used a qualitative case study design. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document observations, with 6 informants.. Data analysis was conducted descriptively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that drug logistics management at the Pharmaceutical Installation of the Sigi Regency Health Office has not been optimally implemented. Problems were identified in planning due to discrepancies in needs data and budget limitations, delays in procurement, substandard storage conditions, and distribution constraints related to geographical conditions. In addition, the disposal and control of medicines have not been optimally carried out. Therefore, improvements are required in drug planning based on consumption data and remaining stock, strengthening procurement coordination, meeting storage standards, adjusting distribution to geographical conditions, and implementing proper disposal and control through routine recording and reporting to ensure effective and efficient medicine availability in Sigi Regency.
