Abstract

In the last ten years, the area west coast of Sumatra island has several times experienced the earthquake with strong intensity. Starting from the earthquake in Aceh December 26, 2004 until 30 September 2009 earthquake Pariaman ago. The last earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale has killed more than 1,000 people and damaged buildings 279 432, with 50 percent of them were severely damaged. Another alternative that is better than doing demolition is to retrofit. In general, the retrofit can be described as the addition of new technology or new technology on a merger between the old system (which already exists). In other words, the retrofit is the process of retrofitting old buildings with the aim of making these buildings resistant to earthquakes. From the calculation and analysis conducted on the carbon material, the material Sika Wrap Hex 230C can be used to retrofit House Office Building Customs Bayur Gulf of Padang. The method of implementation should be properly cared for, so that the strength of the building is expected back as they are resistant to earthquakes. It should be noted once in choosing the method of retrofitting that we will use.

Abstract

An increasing number of plastic waste, but can be recycled into other products in the form of granules before further processing into a grain pellets and injection molding processes to produce products such as buckets, plates, bottles and others. To be processed into the required form of granules of plastic thrasher. Even so small plastic recycling industry is still constrained within a plastic enumeration process because the machine used his ability was not maximal.The purpose of this study is a modification of the transmission system thrasher plastic crusher system and cylinder-type cutter reel and technical evaluation. This study was conducted over two years, the first year the design and manufacture of machinery, the second year is the technical evaluation of the engine, improved engine performance. From the results of the study year I found some weaknesses machines namely, 1) the machine is often hampered by the transmission belt on the motor shaft with shaft reducer as drive unit crusher often slip when a large load, 2) transmission gears hipoid of the motor shaft with shaft type unit reel get a great friction and cause the sound very noisy. To improve the performance of the engine of the transmission system needs to be fixed.From the results of the design redesign the engine in the second year, namely, the installation of a connector axle of the motor shaft with shaft-type knife reel player. Axle used is commonly used in car axle Carry. Likewise, the transmission system between the motor shaft to the reducer as a successor to the rotation axis of the blade type crusher players use the chain sprocket to avoid slip on a rotating shaft. The results of performance testing crusher machine on lap 75 RPM and cylinder-type reel cutters 1450 RPM, engine capacity ± 130 kg / h on the cylinder type crusher and the reel-type cylinder engine capacity of ± 165 kg / h at an aperture sieve Ø 1,5 cm, with uniformity of grain 85%.

Abstract

Motorcycles with injection system uses engine scanner tool as a reference for a mechanic when performing a tune-up to find out and get the engine firing conditions were perfect. Unlike the motorcycle carburetor system, relying only on the experience of a mechanic. If using tools, usually using exhaust emission analyzer which only serves to measure the levels of elements and compounds and exhaust emissions and it can not be used to identify the condition of the combustion engine. Besides, not all the workshops have it, just a certain manufacturer authorized workshops, garages and a large scale or related government agencies that have it. There are two categories of combustion engine, the first engine combustion conditions are not perfect and complete combustion conditions. Perfect engine combustion conditions is needed so that maximum engine performance with an efficient use of fuel. This study aims to make a device that is capable of detecting the condition of combustion 4-stroke motorcycle carburetor system using the method of sum square error (SSE) through the value of the data patterns of exhaust emissions based gas sensors. The study, of the five categories of motorcycles with the manufacturer, type and year of manufacture of different shows that, the system made capable of identifying categories of combustion engine based on the SSE on the identification and reference set. The success rate of identification detection system performs the complete combustion of 89.33% and 97.99% of incomplete combustion.

Abstract

In the district IV Nagari of North Bayang there are rivers that have a large water flow. Given its geographical position, these rivers has a large enough height difference. These rivers provide great opportunities for the development of electric energy generation in microscale powerplants.This District only have 2 villages that reserved the electricity, while others not covered due to the difficult path impassable and distances. So as to provide the electricity needs of society, the government in collaboration with the PNPM Mandiri established several microhydro powerplants (PLTMH), because of the potential for water in this place is quite large and abundant.PLTMH in this District is among PLTMH Muaro Aie 72.5 kW, PLTMH Pulai Indah 60 kW, PLTMH Bayang Janiah 15 kW, PLTMH Pancuang Taba 75 kW, PLTMH Limau-Limau 25 kW and PLTMH Ngalau Gadang 25 kW. By doing this analysis study can be known the potential of water flow on the PLTMH Muaro Aie and Pulai Indah. Due to the large potential of water flow present then the power raised also will be bigger, and new plants can be built or added to distribute the power to other areas that have not been fed by electrical energy.

Abstract

In designing this device, the rice thresher will be lighter, so it will be easier in lifting, simpler in using so farmers as main users will easier in operating this instrument with featuring speed controllable by applying fuzzy method, and also no fossil fuels used because it utilize sunshine as green energy to drive DC motor. Solar cells are used to absorb sunshine in rice thresher machine because it easier in maintenance. The test results of the rice thresher machine is the reduction of the avarage motor speed by 195 rpm every each five rice straws, in the other hand the maximum electric current is needed to spin the rice threser  is 6 ampere and minimum electric current is 2.2 ampere. Furthermore, to stabilize motor speed at 2000 rpm, the avarage time required is 6 seconds when this machine loaded with rice straws. The eficiency of the rice thresher machine is 96%, it mean the avarage time to thresh the rice is 9 rice straws every each seconds.

Abstract

In this paper, it will be studied local stability of equilibrium points of  a SEIR epidemic model with infectious force in latent, infected and immune period. From the model it will be found investigated the existence and its stability of points its equilibrium by Hurwitz matrices. The local stability of equilibrium points is depending on the value of the basic reproduction number  If   the disease free equilibrium is local asymptotically stable.

Abstract

Rectangular Cylinder with a rectangular cross section is also used as a building, the architectural features of the building, the internal flow geometry, and beam. In addition, flow around Rectangular Cylinder can produce local instability and can lead to global instability. Diffuser can work for both conditions by reducing the drag force and increase down force. Diffuser is designed to change the fluid kinetic energy into potential energy in the form of pressure. The increase in pressure that occurs in the diffuser will generate a positive pressure gradient or also called adverse pressure gradient (APG). In this case Rectangular Cylinder that use Diffuser And Without Diffuser at Re 1 x 106 obtained graphs of: (a) Drag Coefficient (Cd) (b) Lift Coefficient (Cl) and (c) Velocity contour in the area of mid span numerically using the software Fluent 6.3.26 with k ε- turbulence models that Standard are two-dimensional (2D). On the Cylinder Rectangular diffuser values obtained using 1:36 Cd and Cl -0.81 and Rectangular Cylinder without diffuser obtained value Cd Cl 0:47 and 1:53, clearly visible on the use Rectangular Cylinder diffuser turns diffuser provides greater Cd and Cl negative or increase down force. The treatment is to eliminate the other side upper corner on the front of a quarter circle with r = 0.1, this produces a different contour velocity when compared experiment this treatment capable of eliminating reattached flow on the upper side area.

Abstract

A system can be modeled using mathematical formulation analysis method. Analysis of the system starts from the value of inputs, processes, noise, and output processes. then sought mathematical approach. This method is very complex, especially for some of the processes that have a higher order. In this article the author tries to discuss a method to perform modeling on a system by using Back Propagation Neural Network method.In the neural network method we require the initial data for network training process. Network training process is intended to gain weight. The weight is then identified with a model system. This paper has demonstrated that the modeling system can be done by the method of back propagation neural network
