JPPFA also considers papers that look at education and development through the policies and practices of official development assistance and commercial education trade. JPPFA engages these approaches to deepen the understanding of the relationship between education policy and development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) implementasi pendidikan Ki Hadjar Dewantara; dan (2) modal sosial di SD Taman Siswa Jetis. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Unit analisis penelitian adalah SD Tamansiswa Jetis. Penentuan subjek dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan subjek penelitian adalah pamong, kepala sekolahdan ketua yayasan Majelis Luhur Persatuan Tamansiswa cabang Jetis. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi partisipatif, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis penelitian ini menggunakan model interaktif Milles Huberman. Berdasarkan penelitian diperoleh sebagai berikut: (1) Konsep pemikiran Ki Hadjar terlaksana di SD Taman Siswa Jetis yakni sistem among tidak dapat dipisahkan prinsip kemerdekaan dan kodrat alam. Pelaksanaan sistem among dilaksanakan dengan keteladanan, pembiasaan, pengajaran, serta hukumam, paksaan dan perintah. (2) Trust, Jaringan, dan norm dalam melaksanakan konsep Ki Hadjar Dewantara menggunakan nilai-nilai kekeluargaan. Kekeluargaan modal sosial yang menjadi kekuatan dalam melaksanakan konsep pendidikan Ki Hadjar di SD Taman Siswa Jetis.Kata kunci: Ki Hadjar Dewantara, Konsep Pendidikan Ki Hadjar Dewantara, Modal Sosial

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) konsep kurikulum pendidikan multikultural di Taman Kanak-Kanak, dan (2) model pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan multikultural di Taman Kanak-Kanak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran di Taman Kanak-Kanak. Penelitian ini berhasil menemukan bahwa: (1) konsep kurikulum pendidikan multikultural di Taman Kanak-Kanak merupakan bentuk kurikulum yang memuat materi-materi pendidikan multikultural yang diperuntukkan bagi pembelajaran anak usia dini dalam rangka mengenalkan dan menanamkan sikap kebersamaan, keadilan, dan toleransi pada diri anak. (2) model pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan multikultural di Taman Kanak-Kanak dilakukan dengan menggunakan empat pendekatan, yaitu pendekatan kontribusi, aditif, transformasi, dan aksi sosial. Dari keempat pendekatan tersebut yang dapat diterapkan dalam pendidikan anak usia dini hanya ada dua, yakni: pendekatan kontribusi dan pendekatan aditif.Kata kunci: kurikulum, pendidikan multikulturan, taman kanak-kanak.  THE MODEL OF MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM IN KINDERGARTENAbstractThis article aims to know: (1) The concept of multicultural education curriculum in kindergarten, and (2) The model of multicultural education curriculum. This study method used descriptive qualitative method. The collecting data was done by interview, observation and documentation of learning activities in the kindergarten. This study resulted the findings that: (1) The concept of multicultural education curriculum in kindergarten as a form of curriculum contains the materials of multicultural education which given to the learning of the childhood in order to introduce and inculcate unity, justice, and tolerance in children. (2) The model of curriculum development of multicultural education in kindergarten is done by using four approaches, namely the contrivution of additives, transformation, and social action. From the four approaches that can be applied in early childhood education, there are only two, namely the contribution approach and additive approach.Keywords: curriculum, multicultural education, kindergarten

Abstract

The aim of this study was to find out the effective kindergarten teacher’s behaviour in influencing, mobilizing, and developing students in teaching learning process. This research was phenomenological qualitative research. The main instruments of this research were the researcher and observation manual. The focus of this research was the way teachers teach in the learning process in group A of Indriyasana Kindergarten, Indriarini Kindergarten, and ABA Pokoh Kindergarten. The data validity of this research was tested by using repeated observation, resource triangulation, and technique triangulation. The componential data was analyzed by employing inductive technique from Spradley’s qualitative model and Miles and Huberman analysis model. The result of the research showed that teacher’s effective ways to influence, mobilize, and develop students in teaching learning process are as follows: 1. Reciting yell, clap yell, and asking students to sing. The content of yell, clap yell, and song was appropriate with values which were developed based on vision, mission, and the goal of Kindergarten institution. Yells, clap yell, and song were democratic and they were the form of the value of learning leadership. 2. In some situations, there was a tendency where the teacher used more autocratic way to influence, mobilize, and develop students in learning process such as the verbal way in which teacher call students’ name and non-verbal way in which teacher put his index finger on his lip as a sign to ask students to be quiet. The other non-verbal ways were: shaking head as a sign of disagreement, raising thumb as a sign of reinforcement, and nodding as a sign of agreement. Sometimes, teachers also used laissez-fair methods such as neglecting students/letting students behave as they want.Keywords: leadership, teacher’s leadership behaviour, learning process in Kindergarten

Abstract

The study concerned here was to describe (1) the characteristics of humanistic mathematics learning and (2) the stages to actualize such learning. The said study was a qualitative one employing the phenomenological approach with six stages of inductive analysis. The data were validated by using the data source triangulation technique. The study involved 75 students of an elementary school, SD Mangunan, Berbah, Sleman, 36 students of a state senior high school, SMA Negeri 1 of Sewon, Bantul, and 42 students of another state senior high school, SMA Negeri 1 of Dlingo, Bantul. The results of the validation showed that the data were valid and consistent. The conclusions of the study are as follows. (1) Humanistic mathematics learning is characterized by the facts that the use of the mathematics learning media gives students space and time to explore and construct mathematical concept understanding and mathematics learning methods are applied by using an inductive approach. (2) The stages to realize humanistic mathematics learning include the setting of mathematics learning objectives based on humanism, existentialism, and religious teachings by building individual students’ strengths through independent and civilized manners, the setting of mathematics learning goals emphasizing balance among the domains of idea, intention, and action, and the setting of the development of contextual and cooperative mathematics learning strategies.Keywords: humanization, mathematics learning

Abstract

Pendidikan akhlak mulia selama ini lebih menekankan pada aspek pengetahuan dari pada aspek sikap dan aplikasinya. Fenomena tawuran pelajar dan pergaulan bebas menjadi bukti. Sekolah Islam berasrama dengan kurikulum khasnya dianggap berhasil mengelola pendidikan karakter akhlak mulia. Namun belum semua sekolah mampu mengelolanya secara efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui dan menggali data mengenai bagaimana perencanaan, implementasi, evaluasi, dan pengelolaan asrama (boarding school system) pendidikan  akhlak mulia dilakukan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, merupakan studi kasus SMP BAS school boarding sistem Tuban. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sekolah melakukan perencanaan program diawali dengan penetapan visi dan misi, tujuan, standart kelulusan, menyusun kurikulum terpadu mengintegrasikan antara kurikulum nasional dan kurikulum khas pondok pesantren dengan penekanan pada pendidikan akhlak mulia. evaluasi dilakukan terus menerus terhadap seluruh aspek kegiatan siswa. Keberhasilan ditandai adanya perubahan perilaku siswa seperti disiplin, rajin ibadah, taat, jujur, dan berprestasi. Masyarakat makin percaya dan lembaga makin berkembang. Salah satu rekomendasi penelitian agar semua pemangku kepentingan komitmen terhadap rencana, menjadi contoh dan melakukan pembinaan terus menerus serta menjalin kemitraan.Kata kunci: pengelolaan, pendidikan, akhlak mulia  GOOD MANNERS EDUCATION AT YUNIOR HIGH  SCHOOL TUBANAbstractGood manner education tends to emphasize on knowledge but weak on attitude and its application. The phenomenon of students do juvenile delinquency, promiscuity, and abuse of drugs. Islamic boarding schools with integrating curriculum of national and local /manhaj tarbiyah emphasizes on Islamic religion subjects and good manner values to students. However, many schools have not succeded in managing good manner education yet. This study is aimed to know and find out data about planning, implementation, evaluation, and management school boarding of good manner eduction as a case study of qualitative research in SMP BAS school boarding system Tuban. The study finds that the planning program is formulated in school vision and mission, gol,  standart graduation, develop integrated curriculum, and actualizes in active learning process, develop students’ extra activity, religious habit and leadership. Evaluation conducted on whole activities continuously. The success of managerial implementation has been indicated by students’ attitude changes such as disciplinary, obedience, learning achievement, and less violence. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan: (1) faktor Kualitas Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), Kompetensi Guru, Persepsi guru terhadap kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan Persepsi guru terhadap kultur sekolah dalam mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai anti korupsi sebagai pengembangan karakter siswa; (2) pengaruh berbagai faktor terhadap kualitas pembelajaran Akuntansi  yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai anti korupsi, dan ; (3) mengetahui faktor yang paling berpengaruh  terhadap pembelajaran Akuntansi yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai anti korupsi. Populasi dalam Penelitian ini adalah 279 Guru Akuntansi SMK Bisnis dan Manajemen di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta terdistribusi pada 59 SMK. Sampel penelitian diambil 165 guru dan 200 siswa diambil dengan proposional purposive sampling. Data dianalisis dengan teknik statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Statistik deskriptif digunakan untuk menjelaskan rata-rata skor kualitas setiap faktor dan statistik inferensial dengan SEM untuk menguji hipotesis. Uji kecocokan model dengan Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan bantuan program LISREL 8.80. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan :(1) Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) telah mengitegrasikan nilai-nilai anti korupsi dengan baik, siswa memberi penilaian sangat baik pada kompetensi guru, guru memiliki persepsi baik terhadap kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, guru memiliki persepsi baik terhadap kultur sekolah; (2) ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari berbagai faktor terhadap pembelajaran Akuntansi yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai anti korupsi. (3) kualitas Rencana Pembelajaran adalah faktor yang paling berpengaruh terhadap kualitas Pembelajaran Akuntansi.Kata kunci: integrasi nilai-nilai anti korupsi, pembelajaran akuntansi, pengembangan karakter siswa ANTI-CORRUPTION VALUES INTO ACCOUNTING LEARNING TO BUILD STUDENTS’ CHARACTERS AT VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS (VHSsAbstractThis study aims to: (1) describe the factors of the lesson plan quality, teachers’ competencies, teachers’ perceptions of principals’ leadership, and teachers’ perceptions of the school culture in integrating anti-corruption values to build students’ characters; (2) describe the effects of a variety of factors on the quality of Accounting learning that integrates anti-corruption values; and (3) find out the factor with the greatest effect on Accounting learning that integrates anti-corruption values. The research population comprised 279 Accounting teachers at 59 Business and Management VHSs in Yogyakarta Special Region. The research sample, consisting of 165 teachers and 200 students, was selected by means of the proportional purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The descriptive statistics were used to explain the mean score of the quality of each factor and the inferential statistics with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) were used to test the hypotheses. The model fit test used SEM processed by the LISREL 8.80 program. The results of the study are as follows. (1) the lesson plans have integrated anti-corruption values well, the students give excellent ratings to the teachers’ competencies, the teachers have good perceptions of the principals’ leadership, and the teachers have good perceptions of the school culture. (2) there are significant effects of a variety of factors on Accounting learning that integrates anti-corruption values. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis: (a) homeschooling sebagai alternatif pada sebagian masyarakat, (b) peranan keluarga dalam pelaksanaan pendidikan homeschooling, (c) mengeksplorasi aspek-aspek kultur dalam pendidikan homeschooling, (d) mengeksplorasi nilai-nilai dalam pendidikan homeschooling, (e) menganalisis tantangan, harapan, dan pengembangan pendidikan homeschooling. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi yang berusaha mendapatkan informasi selengkap mungkin untuk mengkaji dan menganalisis homeschooling dalam masyarakat, sebagai salah satu alternatif pendidikan, dalam situasi yang ilmiah. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah dua homeschooling tunggal, dua homeschooling majemuk dan dua homeschooling komunitas. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipan, analisis dokumen, wawancara mendalam, dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Penelitian etnografis dilaksanakan dengan mengikuti tahapan dan proses penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat induktif, yang terdiri dari tahapan alur penelitian maju bertahap (the Developmental Research Sequence/DRS). Penelitian menemukan  lima hal pokok yaitu; (a) pilihan terhadap homeschooling sebagai pendidikan alternatif dengan model praktik tunggal, majemuk dan komunitas memiliki alasan, motivasi, metode dan pendekatan serta pengembangan minat bakat anak serta upaya membangun masa depan anak. (b)  peran keluarga pada homeschooling tunggal dominan, majemuk diberdayakan, dan komunitas sebagai pendekatan, dimana masing-masing terpengaruh oleh penanaman nilai-nilai dalam budaya keluarga. (c) formula model pendidikan homeschooling berbasis kultur  yang meliputi penguatan keyakinan, toleransi, mandiri, kejujuran, tanggung jawab, percaya diri, disiplin, kompetitif, solidaritas, sosialisasi lintas usia, dan berpikir kritis, sesuai dengan kebutuhan pendidikan anak. (d) Nilai-nilai positif homeschooling antara lain: (a) anak terbentuk sebagai pembelajar mandiri dan terbiasa berpikir mendalam (critical thinking). (b) peran orangtua/keluarga sebagai pengelola pendidikan dan proses belajar. (c) pola pembelajaran customized, (d) penanaman nilai sosial budaya terbangun dari interaksi antara anak dengan orangtua/keluarga, para homeschooler dalam komunitas belajar. (e) terdapat tantangan, harapan dan kemungkinan pengembangan pendidikan homeschooling dalam masyarakat.

Abstract

The study was to uncover the concept of quality improvement, the supporting and the inhibiting factors within the quality improve and the quality improvement in the early childhood mentoring institutions/kindergarten. The study was a qualitative research. The subjects in the study were kindergarten principals, kindergarten teachers and parents. The data were gathered by means of observation, interview and documentation. For the data analysis, the researcher selected the qualitative descriptive data analysis method. The results of the study were as follows. First, the concept of educational quality improvement in the early childhood mentoring institutions/ kindergarten has been improveed from the vision, the mission and the objectives and the concept includes the aspects of planning, process and output which has synergy from one to another. The planning has been formulated in the curriculum, the syllabus and the daily activity plan. Second, the approach, the strategy and the technique of quality improvement has maximized the well-qualified schools’ resources, have been supported by the sufficient facilities and have been funded by the sufficient budget. Third, the supporting factors within the quality improvement of early childhood mentoring institutions/kindergarten have been the increasing awareness within the society toward the significance of early childhood mentoring institutions, the massive socialization conducted by the Office of Education through the provision of training programs in relation to the early childhood mentoring institution/kindergarten management and the human resources empowerment toward developing the quality of early childhood mentoring institutions. Fourth, the inhibiting factors within the quality improvement of early childhood mentoring institutions have been the lack of society care and participation, the less quality human resources that early childhood mentoring institutions have, the fund limitation, the facility limitation and the lack of program management effectiveness.Keywords: development, educational quality, kindergarten
