Abstract

The development of digital technology in healthcare has encouraged the implementation of digital application–based nursing innovations to improve service quality and patient satisfaction. The use of digital applications enables real-time documentation, improves data accuracy, and facilitates communication between nurses and patients. However, empirical evidence regarding their impact on patient satisfaction remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of digital application–based nursing innovations on patient satisfaction. This study used a quantitative design with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest approach without a control group. It was conducted at Banyumas Hospital with 80 respondents selected using purposive sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data normality was tested using the Shapiro–Wilk test, and bivariate analysis was performed using the paired t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the average patient satisfaction score increased from 75.4 ± 7.9 before the intervention to 84.7 ± 6.3 after the intervention. The paired t-test indicated a significant difference (t = 9.12; p < 0.001). In conclusion, digital application–based nursing innovations significantly improve patient satisfaction. Therefore, optimizing digital applications, providing continuous nurse training, and integrating digital systems into standard operating procedures are essential.

Abstract

Mental disorders are a global health concern requiring long-term therapy, yet treatment adherence remains low, often leading to relapse and rehospitalization. The advancement of telehealth offers opportunities to enhance continuous patient monitoring and support. However, evidence regarding its effectiveness in Indonesia is still limited. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of telehealth in improving treatment adherence among patients with mental disorders. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach was used. The study was conducted at Dr. Soeharto Heerdjan Psychiatric Hospital, Jakarta, from July to September 2025. A total of 30 respondents were selected using purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. The telehealth intervention was implemented for 8 weeks and included scheduled online consultations, medication reminder systems, and family education. Treatment adherence was measured using the Medication Adherence Rating Scale (MARS), and data were analyzed using a paired t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed a significant increase in the mean adherence score from 5.9 ± 1.3 before the intervention to 8.4 ± 1.1 after the intervention (p=0.000). This indicates that telehealth significantly improved treatment adherence. In conclusion, telehealth can be recommended as an effective strategy to support outpatient care and improve adherence among patients with mental disorders.

Abstract

Anxiety in outpatients is a psychological problem that often arises due to long lines, limited consultation time, and concerns about diagnosis and therapy. The use of telehealth as a technology-based health service innovation has the potential to improve patient access, efficiency, and comfort so that it can reduce anxiety levels. However, the scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of telehealth on outpatient anxiety in Indonesia is still limited. This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of telehealth on the level of anxiety of outpatients in Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung. This study used a quasi-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest approach without a control group. A sample of 80 outpatients were selected using acidental sampling technique according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Interventions in the form of telehealth services are provided during scheduled consultation periods. Anxiety levels were measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) instrument before and after the intervention. Data analysis was conducted using paired t-test to determine the difference in the average anxiety score before and after the application of telehealth with a significance level of p<0.05. The results showed that the average anxiety score before the intervention was 25.1 ± 5.4 and decreased to 16.2 ° 4.9 after the implementation of telehealth. The paired t-test results showed a statistically significant difference (p=0.000), with an average decrease of 8.9 points. It was concluded that the application of telehealth has a significant effect in reducing the level of outpatient anxiety. Operational implications of this study is the need for optimization of telehealth services as part of outpatient service standards to support the comfort and psychological stability of patients.

Abstract

Chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and heart failure require long-term management that often leads to psychological stress in patients. In Bogor City, limited access to face-to-face healthcare services and the burden of routine medical visits may further increase stress levels. Telecare, a remote healthcare model based on communication technology, offers a potential solution to enhance continuous psychosocial support and health monitoring. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of telecare in reducing stress levels among patients with chronic diseases in Bogor City. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group approach was employed. A total of 60 patients were selected using purposive sampling, consisting of 30 respondents in the intervention group (receiving telecare for 8 weeks) and 30 in the control group (receiving standard care). Stress levels were measured using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10). Data were analyzed using paired t-tests and independent t-tests with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed a significant reduction in stress scores in the intervention group (24.6 ± 4.2 to 16.8 ± 3.9; p<0.001), while the control group showed no significant change (p=0.087). Telecare was effective in reducing stress levels and can be implemented in primary healthcare settings to improve patients’ psychological well-being.

Abstract

The use of digital technology in health services is rapidly increasing, particularly through telehealth. In referral hospitals, nursing service processes are often constrained by long patient waiting times, limited coordination among health workers, and inadequate continuous patient monitoring. These challenges highlight the need for service innovations that improve nursing efficiency without compromising care quality. This study aimed to analyze the effect of telehealth utilization on the efficiency of nursing services. A quantitative method with a cross-sectional design was applied. The study was conducted at Dr. Kariadi Hospital, Semarang, in 2025, involving a population of implementing nurses in inpatient units. A total of 120 nurses were selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires assessing telehealth utilization and nursing service efficiency, along with service time observation sheets. Univariate analysis was used to describe frequency distributions, while bivariate analysis employed the Chi-Square test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that 68.3% of nurses had good telehealth utilization, and 71.7% demonstrated high efficiency in nursing services. There was a significant relationship between telehealth utilization and service efficiency (p = 0.001; OR = 3.45). Nurses with good telehealth utilization were 3.45 times more likely to provide efficient services. In conclusion, telehealth significantly improves nursing service efficiency, emphasizing the need for supportive policies, training, and system integration.

Abstract

The development of information technology requires adequate digital competence among nurses to improve the quality of health services. However, disparities in understanding and applying digital technology persist, affecting the quality of nursing care. Therefore, evaluating nurses’ digital competence is necessary to identify barriers and develop improvement strategies. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between nurses’ digital competence and the quality of nursing care at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang in 2025. This study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The research involved 100 nurses selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires, which had been tested for validity and reliability to measure digital competence, and observation sheets to assess the quality of nursing care. Data analysis included univariate analysis to describe frequency distributions and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test, along with odds ratio (OR) calculations. The results showed that 56% of nurses had good digital competence, while 60% demonstrated good quality of nursing care. Bivariate analysis revealed a significant relationship between digital competence and nursing care quality (p-value = 0.003; OR = 2.95). Nurses with good digital competence were 2.95 times more likely to provide high-quality care. In conclusion, digital competence is significantly associated with nursing care quality, highlighting the need for continuous training, system optimization, and technology-based policies.

Abstract

The mental health of patients in inpatient settings is a critical concern in healthcare services, and nurses’ therapeutic communication plays an important role in influencing patients’ psychological conditions. Limited understanding of this relationship may negatively affect recovery. This study aimed to examine the effect of nurses’ therapeutic communication on patients’ mental health in the inpatient unit. This study used a quantitative design with a correlational approach. The research was conducted at RSUD M. Natsir Solok, involving 50 inpatients selected through purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. Data were collected using two instruments: a therapeutic communication questionnaire to evaluate nurse–patient interactions and the Self Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ) to assess patients’ psychological and emotional conditions. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test. Ethical principles were applied by obtaining informed consent and ensuring data confidentiality. The results showed that 70% of patients perceived good therapeutic communication from nurses. Regarding anxiety levels, 50% of patients experienced moderate anxiety and 30% reported high anxiety. The chi-square test indicated a significant relationship between therapeutic communication and anxiety levels (p = 0.035). In conclusion, therapeutic communication positively influences patients’ mental health, emphasizing the need for structured training to enhance nurses’ communication skills.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of telehealth platform use on nurses’ mental health amid shifting work patterns and rising digital demands. Increased workload, adaptation to new technologies, and changes in patient interaction may trigger psychological problems, especially in facilities actively adopting telehealth. A quantitative cross-sectional design was conducted at RSUP Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung in 2025. The sample consisted of 75 nurses selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires measuring levels of telehealth use and general mental health. Univariate analysis described frequency distributions, while bivariate analysis used the chi-square test with a significance level of 0.05. The univariate results showed that 70.7% of nurses had high telehealth use, and 60% experienced poor mental health conditions. Bivariate analysis indicated a significant relationship between telehealth use and nurses’ mental health (p-value = 0.004). Nurses with high telehealth use had a 2.3 times greater risk of experiencing mental health disorders compared to those with lower use. In conclusion, telehealth platform use significantly affects nurses’ mental health. These findings highlight the importance of digital workload management policies, strengthened institutional support, and continuous promotive and preventive programs to maintain nurses’ mental well-being.

Abstract

Burnout syndrome among nurses in hospitals can negatively impact the quality of healthcare services and the well-being of medical personnel. Dr. Rasidin Hospital in Padang faces challenges in improving service quality due to the high level of fatigue experienced by nurses. This study aimed to identify factors influencing burnout syndrome among nurses in the hospital. This research used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The study was conducted at Dr. Rasidin Hospital, involving 100 nurses selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires measuring burnout syndrome, workload, working hours, and social support. Data analysis included univariate tests to describe frequency distributions and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test to examine relationships between variables. The results showed that 63% of nurses experienced burnout syndrome. Furthermore, 50% of nurses reported a very high workload, 47% worked more than 8 hours per day, and 40% perceived low social support. Bivariate analysis revealed significant relationships between workload (p = 0.004), working hours (p = 0.003), and social support (p = 0.025) with burnout syndrome. In conclusion, burnout syndrome among nurses is influenced by excessive workload, long working hours, and lack of social support. Therefore, hospital management should regulate workload and enhance social support to reduce burnout risk.
