Abstract

This study aims to review various national and international research on the analysis of validity and reliability of measurement instruments in guidance and counseling. Validity and reliability are two key indicators in determining the quality of psychological assessment tools. Validity reflects how well an instrument measures the intended construct, while reliability refers to the consistency of measurement results. Based on a review of several scientific journals, common approaches include exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, internal consistency testing, and expert judgment validation. The review findings indicate that instruments developed through rigorous validity and reliability testing can enhance counseling effectiveness, provide more accurate diagnoses, and improve the quality of professional services. Therefore, it is essential for practitioners and researchers in guidance and counseling to continually evaluate and update the instruments they use.

Abstract

This article was written to complete one of the assignments for the Islamic Education Management course. The method used is library research, namely by collecting data from various literature sources. The purpose of this community service (PkM) is to provide education and counseling to elementary school students (SD) regarding the negative impacts of gadget use on children's psychological development. This PkM activity was carried out at the UPTD SDN 1 Tanjungkerta, Kroya District, Indramayu Regency. This program is a form of intracurricular and implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The problem found based on initial observations is that children are accustomed to playing with gadgets beyond the time limit which can cause reduced focus on learning, as well as concerns from teachers and parents because many children use gadgets for negative activities, such as watching pornographic videos. The solution is to provide educational counseling about the negative impacts of gadgets with an illustration of the negative things that can occur, while implementing the Guidance and Counseling (BK) Emoji Expression media as an effort to find out the extent of feelings experienced by children if they do not use gadgets. The methods used in the implementation of the program are lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and questions and answers. The Emoji Expression Guidance and Counseling (BK) media functions as an icon or symbol representing a character and expressing emotions, feelings (moods), and ideas in communication, making it easier for teachers to understand students' conditions. Three forms of expression emerged: happy, sad, and angry. The results of this activity were measured using a pre-test and post-test, analyzed using the N-Gain Test, and showed an improvement between the pre-test and post-test scores for all students. In conclusion, this counseling program ran smoothly and effectively, benefiting teachers by providing engaging and easily understood guidance to students.

Abstract

This study explores the role of religious teachers in preventing verbal bullying at SMKS Mahyal Ulum Al-Aziziyah. The research is motivated by the increasing number of bullying cases in schools, which negatively affect students’ character and psychological development. The study aims to describe the role of religious teachers in preventing verbal bullying, identify the types of bullying that occur, and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors of prevention efforts. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively. The findings show that verbal bullying still occurs in the form of teasing, mocking, gossiping, and humiliating nicknames. Religious teachers play an essential role through personal approaches, Islamic value inculcation, advice, and religious character formation. The main supporting factors are the principal’s support and the school’s religious culture, while the inhibiting factors include lack of parental attention and limited teacher supervision outside class hours. The study concludes that the role of religious teachers is strategic in fostering a safe, ethical, and Islamic school environment.
