Abstract

The climate in junior high schools has a significant impact on shaping students' attitudes and self-regulation abilities. This study aims to examine the relationship between students' perceptions of the school environment and their ability to manage behaviour, particularly during the transitional period of adolescence and the influence of digital media. A supportive school environment is characterised by a sense of safety, positive social relationships, and beneficial interactions, which are believed to reduce negative behaviours such as bullying and enhance students' emotional intelligence. The approach of this study emphasises how students' perceptions of the school atmosphere can serve as an indicator of their emotional and social development. The highly dynamic period of adolescence requires students to have a supportive school environment so that they can effectively manage their emotions and behaviour. Findings from this study indicate that students' ability to self-regulate is strongly related to the quality of the school climate. Challenges from the use of technology and digital media also affect adolescents' ability to control themselves, making support through group discussions and self-management training necessary. Thus, a positive school environment becomes an important foundation for fostering positive behaviour and resilience in junior high school students.

Abstract

In this fast-paced era of globalization, the formation of individuals with integrity and high moral character has become a major focus in various disciplines. Failure in character education is often linked to an increase in social problems and ethical degradation in society. In Islam, moral education is not only social ethics, but also a manifestation of faith that encompasses vertical and horizontal relationships, making it a major pillar in character building. This study aims to examine in depth the relevance of moral education in the Islamic perspective as an irreplaceable foundation in the character-building process. The focus of the study includes an analysis of basic principles, identification of effective methods of formation in accordance with the Qur'an and Sunnah, and the implementation of moral values in the contemporary education system. The method used is library research, which relies on analysis of various writings and theories from relevant literature (reference books, journal articles, proceedings, and documents). Data is analyzed using content analysis, which includes the stages of problem identification, framework development, methodology, analysis, and data interpretation. Moral education, as conceptualized by Imam Al-Ghazali, is the cultivation of character traits in the soul that result in good deeds coming easily. The methods used to shape this character include direct teaching (the example set by the Prophet Muhammad) and indirect teaching (wisdom stories), as well as early cultivation through the instilling of faith and piety. Moral education is relevant in shaping a character that is not only intellectually intelligent, but also spiritually and emotionally mature, capable of being an agent of positive change, and possessing moral resilience in the midst of globalization. Moral education in Islam is an irreplaceable fundamental foundation in shaping the character of students to be whole (insan kamil), have integrity, and be highly moral. Further research is recommended to empirically examine the implementation of moral education at various levels of education and measure its concrete impact on changes in student behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe various types of innovative learning methods in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in order to respond to contemporary challenges and the requirements of the Merdeka Curriculum. The research method used was a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature review, in which data was collected from scientific journals and relevant books, then analyzed using thematic and content analysis techniques. The results of the study show that innovation in IRE teaching methods is a necessity to shift the paradigm from passive teaching to active, student-centered learning facilitation. The conclusion of the study confirms that the integration of various methods, such as inductive, dialogue, circle (halaqah), history, and field trip methods, is very effective in improving religious literacy, critical thinking, and the internalization of Islamic values in an applicable manner. With the right combination of methods, PAI is expected to produce graduates who are intellectually competent as well as spiritually and morally strong in the midst of the complexities of the modern world.

Abstract

Contemporary Islamic education is often faced with the challenge of dualism and dichotomy between religious knowledge (ulum ad-din) and general/worldly knowledge (ulum ad-dunya). This separation results in the birth of an educated generation with a split personality, namely proficient in science and technology but lacking spiritual values, or conversely, deeply immersed in religious knowledge but stuttering in responding to the challenges of the times. This article aims to explore and reconstruct the concept of holistic and integrative Islamic education based on the paradigm of Wahdatul 'Ulum (Unity of Knowledge) sourced from the Qur'an. This research uses a library research method, specifically with a directed exploratory approach that systematically utilizes library sources as the main data base. The research process involves an in-depth examination of various written materials through critical reading and analytical review to comprehensively answer the research problem. Data sources consist of authoritative references such as books, scientific journals, classical and contemporary works, and academic articles relevant to the concept of education based on wahdatul 'ulum. Through this methodological framework, this research aims to synthesize and interpret the theoretical perspectives and insights of the Qur'an related to knowledge integration. The discussion presented in this article ultimately shows that the Al-Qur'an contains a number of verses that reflect and support the principles of education based on wahdatul ulum, indicating that the integration of religious knowledge and science has been deep in the world view of the Al-Qur'an.
