Journal of Information Systems and Business Technology (JISBT) adalah jurnal ilmiah yang didedikasikan khusus untuk pengembangan keilmuan di bidang Sistem Informasi. Jurnal ini menjadi wadah untuk penyebaran hasil penelitian, inovasi teknologi, serta pemikiran kritis yang berfokus pada penerapan dan pengembangan sistem informasi dalam berbagai konteks bisnis dan organisasi. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menjadi referensi utama bagi akademisi, peneliti, dan praktisi yang bergerak di bidang Sistem Informasi, serta menjadi sarana kontribusi terhadap peningkatan literasi teknologi dan manajemen informasi di era digital. Abstract

Managing customer complaints and service requests often encounters obstacles in manual systems, such as delayed response times, lost ticket data, and the absence of status tracking. This research aims to design and develop a web-based helpdesk ticketing application to automate ticket management processes more efficiently.The development method adopts the waterfall approach, encompassing requirements analysis, system design (including UML diagrams such as use case, class, sequence, and activity), implementation using the PHP framework, MySQL database, and Bootstrap for responsive interfaces. The application supports key features like ticket creation by users, ticket assignment to agents, real-time status tracking, email notifications, and analytical reports.Testing results indicate the application operates optimally with a 95% success rate on functional and non-functional tests, and an average response time under 2 seconds. The application successfully enhances helpdesk management efficiency by up to 40% based on simulated data. In conclusion, this system is feasible for implementation in organizations with high ticket volumes, with suggestions for further development such as AI integration for ticket prioritization.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a student attendance system based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) using Student Identity Cards (KTM) as an alternative to the manual attendance method commonly used at the Faculty of Informatics Engineering, University of Pamulang. The manual attendance process has several limitations, including slow processing time, potential fraud, data entry errors, and lack of integration with academic systems. This research employs a quantitative approach with a field experiment method involving 60 students and 3 lecturers as respondents. The developed RFID attendance system was tested based on speed, accuracy, and user perception. The results indicate that the RFID system significantly accelerates the attendance process from 20–25 seconds to only 2–3 seconds per student. The system also achieves an accuracy rate of 98.5%, effectively minimizing recording errors and eliminating attendance fraud.

Abstract

Manual management of school administration data involving physical documents or spreadsheets often leads to data inconsistency, potential duplication, and operational inefficiency. The Web-App School Administration System was developed as a web-based solution for managing digital and summarized Student, Teacher, and Subject Data. This study aims to test the system's core functionality. The testing scope includes the authentication module (Login) and CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations on master data. The testing method used is Blackbox Testing utilizing Equivalence Partitioning (EP) and Boundary Value Analysis (BVA) techniques. Testing and reporting procedures are implemented in accordance with the principles of the ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 standard. The test results indicate that the Web-App School Administration System functions according to the specified functional specifications, provides a high level of operational feasibility, and is an effective alternative to replacing conventional school administration procedures.

Abstract

The utilization of open-source software from public repositories like GitHub is increasingly prevalent in institutional system development. However, this software is often adopted without adequate quality validation processes, posing risks of functional failure in production environments. This study aims to verify the quality of a web-based "Library Information System" sourced from GitHub by implementing the international standard ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119. The methodology employed is Black Box Testing, adhering to the ISO 29119-2 dynamic test process model and ISO 29119-3 documentation structure. Testing focused on three crucial modules: library data management, user authentication, and circulation. The results indicate that out of 30 designed test cases, the system achieved a pass rate of 87%. Four major incidents were identified, including a logic flaw in book stock validation that allowed negative transactions. The implementation of the ISO 29119 standard proved effective in providing structured documentation and enhancing defect traceability.

Abstract

Software testing is a crucial stage in the development of information systems, as it serves to ensure system quality, reliability, and conformity with user requirements. Information systems that are implemented without standardized testing procedures are prone to functional defects, operational disruptions, and a decline in user trust. Therefore, Software testing must be conducted in a systematic, structured, and well-documented manner. This study aims to evaluate the quality of the Goldsop Library Information System by applying the international standard ISO/IEC 29119. This standard is used as a guideline for test documentation development, test execution, as well as the recording and analysis of findings identified during the testing process. The testing process is carried out by designing Test cases that represent the core system functionalities and executing them to assess the conformity between expected outcomes and actual system behavior. Any Failures identified during testing are recorded as Bugs and classified according to their level of Severity. The results of the testing indicate that not all system functions operate as expected. Several findings with major Severity levels were identified, particularly affecting core system functionalities related to data validation and information delivery to users. In addition, this study also includes accessibility and scalability testing to assess the system’s readiness for broader usage conditions. Based on the testing results, the system still requires improvements and refinements before it can be recommended for optimal implementation.

Abstract

Health risk assessment is a crucial stage in the selection process of health insurance applicants. The development of information systems has enabled insurance companies to manage medical history data more quickly, systematically, and accurately compared to manual methods. This study aims to describe the processes of collecting, inputting, processing, and utilizing medical history data in assessing the health risks of prospective policyholders. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with a certified insurance agent holding AAJI/AASI certification. The results indicate that the use of information systems accelerates the underwriting process, improves agents’ work efficiency, and supports decision-making in health risk assessment. However, technical issues such as application disruptions and potential data input errors were still identified during implementation. Overall, information systems contribute positively to the quality and effectiveness of health risk assessment processes in insurance companies.

Abstract

Particularly for activities like taking attendance, the use of information technology in education is becoming more and more prevalent. Conventional methods of monitoring attendance are regarded as inefficient because of the large amount of time they take and their vulnerability to mistakes. A QR Code-based attendance system has, therefore, been chosen to increase both efficiency and accuracy. This system needs to be tested before it is fully deployed to ensure that it satisfies user requirements and that all of its features operate as expected. In accordance with the ISO/IEC 29119 standards, this study aims to test the software of a QR Code-Based School Attendance System. The methodology employed is functional testing utilizing the black box testing technique. As per ISO/IEC 29119 standards, the testing phases include planning, creating test cases, running tests, and reporting results. The testing prioritizes the system's essential functions, including attendance report administration, QR code creation, QR code scanning, and user login. The results demonstrate that the majority of the system's features perform as planned and adhere to the acceptance standards set. In light of these findings, the QR Code–Based Attendance System is considered adequate for supporting attendance management in educational institutions.

Abstract

The growth of cloud computing has changed how computer networks are managed in modern environments. Through cloud-based systems, organizations can utilize flexible computing resources without maintaining their own physical infrastructure. However, cloud network implementations still face performance-related challenges, including latency, bandwidth instability, and inefficient use of network resources. This study analyzes several cloud computing strategies to improve the performance of cloud-based computer networks using a literature review approach. Based on the analysis of relevant scientific publications, the findings show that strategies such as network architecture optimization, load balancing, dynamic resource management, Quality of Service (QoS) implementation, and continuous network monitoring can effectively enhance network performance. These approaches help reduce latency, improve network stability, and optimize resource utilization in cloud environments.

Abstract

Digital technology advancement has spurred sports applications promoting healthy lifestyles, with fun run events gaining popularity as community-based activities. However, participant registration and information management remain challenging due to inadequate digital integration. This research designs the FunRun application's UI/UX using Design Thinking's user-centered methodology through five stages: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. Data collection involved interviews and observations with prospective participants and organizers to identify user needs and pain points. The outcome is an interactive Figma prototype featuring five core screens: home, registration, history, track and digital certificate. Usability testing via System Usability Scale (SUS) with 15 respondents achieved an average score of 87 ("Excellent" category), demonstrating Design Thinking's effectiveness in creating intuitive, efficient interfaces. FunRun improved registration efficiency by 50% and reduced data input errors by 73%. These findings validate user-centered design's impact on sports applications, serving as a reference for future digital solutions prioritizing user experience.

Abstract

The development of quantum computing has a significant impact on cybersecurity, particularly in the banking sector, which relies heavily on data confidentiality and integrity. Classical cryptographic algorithms are at risk of becoming vulnerable due to the ability of quantum computers to break encryption systems using algorithms such as Shor's, raising the need for new security technologies based on quantum mechanical principles. This study analyzes the concept of quantum computer networks, identifies implementation challenges, and examines case studies of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) applications in banking data security systems. The research method used is a descriptive approach through literature analysis and case studies of QKD applications in global financial networks. The results show that QKD can improve the security of encryption key exchanges through an eavesdropping detection mechanism that relies on changes in the state of photons, thus enabling communications that are theoretically impossible to intercept without detection. Case studies of the SwissQuantum Network and financial networks in China demonstrate that the implementation of QKD has successfully improved the security of data communications between bank branches and data centers. However, this study also identified several key challenges, such as high infrastructure costs, limited transmission distances, and the complexity of integration with existing cryptographic systems and conventional networks. Furthermore, human resource readiness, regulatory support, and long-term investment are key factors in the successful implementation of this technology.  This study concludes that QKD is a promising security solution for the banking sector in facing future quantum computing threats, although its adoption requires strategic planning, technological readiness, and comprehensive policies.
