Abstract

Knowledge of traditional medicinal plants is still mostly passed down from generation to generation and has not been properly documented digitally, resulting in low interest among younger generations in learning about traditional medicinal plants. This study aims to design and develop an interactive educational media based on Augmented Reality (AR) to help the public understand information about traditional medicinal plants in a more engaging and interactive way. The method used in this study is the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), which consists of the stages of concept, design, material collection, assembly, testing, and distribution. The system was developed using ZapWorks Studio for AR implementation and Blender for creating 3D models of medicinal plants. The results of this study indicate that the AR-based educational media is capable of displaying visualizations of traditional medicinal plants in the form of three-dimensional objects along with information on their benefits and interactive 3D animation of the preparation process. This system can be used as an engaging learning media and support the preservation of traditional medicinal plant knowledge in the digital era.

Abstract

The development of digital technology encourages Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to adapt to more innovative and interactive promotional methods. In Kupang City, most UMKM still rely on traditional promotions, resulting in limited marketing reach and less ability to attract maximum consumer attention. This study aims to design and implement a visual tracking-based Augmented Reality (AR) application as a medium for introducing and promoting UMKM  products. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a Waterfall software development model, which includes the stages of needs analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The application was developed using ZapWorks Studio for the visual tracking feature and Blender for creating 3D objects. Test results using a user evaluation approach show that the application is able to detect markers well and display product information interactively through 3D objects. Respondents from UMKM and general users stated that this application is easy to use, the AR display is attractive, and it is effective in increasing the attractiveness of product promotions. Thus, Augmented Reality technology is proven to be feasible and has the potential to become an innovative digital promotional medium for UMKM in Kupang City.

Abstract

The low use of interactive learning media to introduce local culture has limited students' interest and understanding of the traditional houses of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). This study aims to design and develop interactive educational media based on Augmented Reality (AR) to help students understand the form, function, and philosophy of traditional NTT houses in a more engaging and interactive way. The method used in this study is the ADDIE development model, which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The system was developed using ZapWorks Studio for implementing AR technology and Blender for creating 3D models of traditional houses. The results show that the AR-based educational media is capable of displaying visualizations of traditional NTT houses in the form of three-dimensional objects, along with educational information and interactive quiz features in real time. This media can be used as an engaging and interactive learning tool, helping to increase student interest in learning and support the preservation of local culture in the digital age.

Abstract

Balinese script is a vital cultural heritage that currently faces preservation challenges due to the limited ability of the younger generation to read and understand it manually. This study aims to develop an automatic transliteration system for Balinese script into Latin characters using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based on transfer learning. The dataset consists of 28 classes with 570 images in each class, resulting in a total of 15.960 images, which undergo preprocessing stages including 224×224 resizing, 1/255 normalization, and augmentation, and are split into an 80:20 training and validation ratio. The proposed method compares three pretrained architectures: VGG16 (variations of 20, 50, and 100 epochs), InceptionV3, and ResNet50 (50 epochs) using the Adam optimizer and a 0.0001 learning rate. Performance is evaluated using accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and confusion matrix. The results show that VGG16 achieves the best performance with a consistent accuracy of 0.97 and the highest precision of 0.98 at 50 epochs, while InceptionV3 reaches 0.83 accuracy and ResNet50 scores 0.55. Based on these results, VGG16 is selected as the best model to be implemented in the transliteration system. In conclusion, the pretrained VGG16 CNN architecture is proven to be highly effective and provides superior accuracy for the automatic transliteration of Balinese script images into Latin characters.

Abstract

This internship was carried out at the South Sumatra Provincial Narcotics National Agency (BNNP Sumatera Selatan), specifically in the Eradication and Intelligence Division. The internship identified problems in inmate data management, where the process was still handled manually and partly using Microsoft Excel, resulting in difficulties in searching, updating, and reporting data. To solve this issue, a web-based inmate data information system was developed using the Laravel framework and MySQL database. The system was designed with several key features, including user login, dashboard, inmate data management, inmate history, photo upload, data search, status filtering, and user profile management. The development process included problem analysis, system requirements analysis, system design using use case diagrams, activity diagrams, and ERD, implementation, and black box testing. The test results showed that all main functions worked properly according to the expected requirements. Therefore, the system can support inmate data management in a more structured, efficient, and effective way.

Abstract

Advances in information technology encourage companies to optimize information systems to support business processes, including automotive service sales. PT Nasmoco Pekalongan uses the Nasmoco Integrated System (NIS) as its primary system for managing service sales activities; however, several issues remain, such as delays in data access, input errors, and suboptimal system integration. This research aims to assess the implementation of NIS through the Human Organization Technology Fit (HOT-Fit) framework, which encompasses the human, organization, and technology dimensions. A descriptive qualitative research method was employed, with data collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation review. The results indicate that NIS has been operating well and effectively supports the company’s operational processes. Nevertheless, several aspects still require improvement, particularly user satisfaction, training, coordination, and system reliability. Based on the evaluation results, the implementation of NIS fulfills the human, organization, and technology aspects, thereby supporting the effectiveness of service sales processes at PT Nasmoco Pekalongan.
