Abstract

This research aims to describe the management of library in order to increase the academic achievement in MAN Yogyakarta III which include : (1) planning of library management, (2) organizing of library management programm, (3) the implemetation of library management programm,and (4) evaluation of library management program. This is a qualitative research. MAN Yogyakarta III was choosen as the research sitebecause this library school had got the first champion in national library competition. Data collecting method was conducted by means of observation, interview, and documentation. Milesand Huberman’s model of qualitative data was used to analyze it . The result of the research shows that the library management in MAN Yogyakarta III has been well managed. Students had been motivated to use all facilities in this library. They like to read and discussion in the library, because the room was so comfortable that they like to study there. Involvement of all person in this school can be shown in library management, they keep in pleasure, cleanliness, care of books, used them carefully, and encourage any programms was hold by the library. Library existance has been complete and has some interesting programms that can influence the increase of student’s academic achievements. Based on observation, there is a significant increasing in student’s academic achievement in MAN Yogyakarta III after the management has beenmanaged well. In fact, after the library has got the winner in national library competition, students academic achievements increase deeply. So, the existance of library must be kept, and more rised up in the management, so that it can be more and more useful to any person.

Abstract

The Influence of Principal Supervising, Teacher’s Creativity, and Participation of Deliberation Subject Teachers on Teachers Performance of Public Junior High School’s of a Lendah Sub-District Kulonprogo Regency. The study was aimed at knowing: (1) the influence of principal supervising, teacher’s creativity and participation of Deliberation Subject Teachers in simultaneous on the teacher’s performance of public junior high schools of Lendah Sub-District Kulonprogo Regency. (2) the influence of supervising principal on the performance of public junior high schools of Lendah Sub-District Kulonprogo Regency, (3). the influence of teacher’s creativity on the teacher’s performance of public junior high schools of Lendah Sub- District Kulonprogo Regency, and (4) the influence of participation of deliberation subject teachers on the teacher’s performance of public junior high schools of Lendah Sub-District Kulonprogo Regency. Correlation descriptive approach was adopted in this study. The research was conducted at junior high schools of a Lendah Sub-District Kulonprogo Regency. Proportionale random sampling was used in the study. Questionnaire was used for collecting the data. The data were analyzed by multiple regression analyses with prerequisite test analysis of normality, linierity, and multicollinearity with degree of significance of 5 %. The study found that : (1) there is a positive significant simultaneous influence of principal supervising, teacher’s creativity, and participation of deliberation subject teachers on the teacher’s performance of public junior high schools of Lendah Sub-District Kulonprogo Regency, (2). there is a positive significant influence of principal supervising on the teacher’s performance of public junior high schools of Lendah Sub- District Kulonprogo Regency, (3) there is a positive significant influence of teacher’s creativity on the teachers’s performance of public junior high schools of Lendah Sub-District Kulonprogo Regency, (4) there is a positive significant influence of participation of deliberation subject teachers on teachers’s performance of public junior high schools of Lendah Sub-District Kulonprogo Regency

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui : a.) pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, budaya organisasi sekolah dan motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja guru secara bersama-sama terhadap kinerja guru. b.) pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru. c.) pengaruh budaya organisasi sekolah terhadap kinerja guru. d.) pengaruh motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja guru. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap guru SMK Muhammadiyah di Kecamatan Wates Kabupaten Kulon Progo tahun pelajaran 2012/2013, yaitu di SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Wates, SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Wates dan SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Wates. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode survey. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua guru SMK Muhammadiyah di Kecamatan Wates Kabupaten Kulon Progo yang berjumlah 162 responden. Penelitian ini mengambil sebanyak 114 guru sebagai responden dengan teknik proposional random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner. Analisis data normalitas, linieritas dan multikolinieritas. Teknik analisis data menggunakan regresi ganda dengan tiga variabel bebas. Uji hipotesis secara bersama-sama menggunakan uji-F atau uji ANOVA, dilanjutkan uji hipotesis secara individual dengan uji parsial (uji-t). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa a.) kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, budaya organisasi sekolah dan motivasi kerja secara bersama-sama mempunyai pengaruh yang positif dan sangat signifikan terhadap kinerja guru. b.) kepemimpinan kepala sekolah mempunyai pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru. c.) budaya organisasi sekolah mempunyai pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru. d.) motivasi kerja mempunyai pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru. Sumbangan efektif secara bersama-sama sebesar 70,0 %.

Abstract

This study aims to determine a clear picture of the extent to which supervised parenting pattern in the St. Joseph Boy Dormitory of Kualadua Village could establish and develop a child's character. The entire device, events and activities in the dormitory indeed are a unity of synergy that can develop the personality or character of its inhabitants. Respondents in this study were current children staying in the dorms and couch of the dorms. Also, parents or guardians of those children, the teachers at the school and the alumni who are scattered in several areas of West Kalimantan and other areas. Researchers can directly meet and interact with boarding children and the coaches whileat the study site. But researchers couldn’t meet the guardians or parents at any time. These parents can be met on holidays while they were visiting the children in the dorm. Researchers tried to see alumni by any communication media. This study used a qualitative approach to the study site in the St. Joseph's Boarding of Kualadua village, Kembayan District, Sanggau, West Kalimantan Province. This special Dormitory for male students from Kualadua Catholic junior high school with experiencesover 60 years (founded in 1952) is managed by the Congregation of MTB Indonesia Brothers. Research method used in this research include observation, interview and documentation. Analysis of the data using qualitative analysis models of Miles and Hubermen. The research shows that (1) children’s interest to attend St. Joseph's dormitory is caused by examples of those who once lived in the dorms and attended Catholic junior Kualadua. (2) The pattern of care that emphasizes togetherness in a dormitory could develop self-reliance and self-esteem. (3) activities and habits of everyday life in the dorm could build learning discipline and self-discipline.

Abstract

The Principal Academic Supervision Pattern of Senior High School Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta In Order To Improve Teacher’s Performance. This research is aimed to reveal the academic supervision pattern performed by the principal in order to improve techers performance, the obstacles on the academic supervision application, and to follow up the academic supervision application. This research used qualitative approach which is placed in Senior High School Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. The data source consist of the headmaster, the teachers, and administratration stafs. The research data was collected and compiled through observations, interviews, and documentations. The data was analyzed with analysis model through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The result of descriptive analysis explains that the academic supervision performed by the principal of Senior High School Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta is continuously wellperformed, well-planned, well-programed, and well-scheduled. The academic supervision includes improving class-visit program, observing the lesson plans, and coordinating learning media and its application in the teaching learning process. Due to this academic supervision, the principal is proven to be able to improve teacher’s performance. The fact that teachers have performed well in the teaching-learning process in terms of planning, performing, evaluating, following-up, and problem solving supports the idea above. The main obstacle found in performing the academic supervision is the contradicting schedule. Contradicting schedule of suddent agendas often interrupts principal’s work in performing the academic supervision. It is hoped that principal is eager to work on this obstacle to achieve the ideal academic supervision performance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui : 1) pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, fasilitas sekolah dan budaya sekolah secara bersama-sama terhadap profesionalisme guru, 2) pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap profesionalisme guru, 3) pengaruh fasilitas sekolah terhadap profesionalisme guru, dan 4) pengaruh budaya sekolah terhadap profesionalisme guru. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei yang menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah guru di Ibu Pawiyatan Tamansiswa Yogyakarta yang berjumlah 105 guru yang tersebar di lima sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian populasi. Teknik pengumpulan data mengunakan kuesioner. Uji validitas instrument dengan korelasi produck Moment, uji reliabilitas angket dengan menggunakan Alpah Cronbach. Analisis data secara korelatif menggunakan analisis regresi ganda tiga prediktor dengan uji F dan korelasi parsial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan; 1) Adanya pengaruh yang positif dan sangat signifikan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, fasilitas sekolah dan Budaya Sekolah secara bersama-sama terhadap profesionalisme guru. Artinya semakin baik kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, fasilitas sekolah dan budaya sekolah, semakin baik pula profesionalisme guru; 2) Adanya pengaruh yang positif dan sangat signifikan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap profesionalisme guru. Artinya semakin baik kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, semakin baik pula profesionalisme guru ; 3) Adanya pengaruh yang positif dan sangat signifikan fasilitas sekolah terhadap profesionalisme guru. Artinya semakin baik fasilitas sekolah, semakin baik pula profesionalisme guru; dan 4) Adanya pengaruh yang positif dan tidak signifikan budaya sekolah terhadap profesionalisme guru. Artinya semakin baik budaya sekolah, tidak berpengaruh pada peningkatan profesionalisme guru.

Abstract

The Factors which Influence Student’s Satisfaction of Vocational High Schools of Business and Management Groups in Kebumen Regency in the 2013/2014 Academic Year. This research aimed to know : (1) The influence of teacher’s abilities in classroom managements, learning facilities, and extracurricular activities simultaneously upon the student’s satisfaction of Vocational High Schools of Business and Management Groups in Kebumen Regency. (2) The influence of teacher’s skills in managing classroom upon the student’s satisfaction of Vocational High Schools students. (3) The influence of learning facilities upon the student’s satisfaction of Vocational High Schools, and (4) TheInfluence of extracurricular activities upon the student’s satisfaction of Vocational High Schools.This research was conducted in the State Vocational High School of Business and Management Groups, they were SMK Negeri 1 Kebumen, SMK Negeri 1 Karanganyar Kebumen, and SMK Negeri 1 Ambal Kebumen. The populations of this research were Vocational High School students of Business and Management groups by using sampling technique of Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. The methods of data collections used questionnaires and documentations. The data analyzes used Multiple Regression. Based on the result of the research it can be concluded that: (1) There is a significant positive influence of teacher’s abilities in classroom managements, learning facilities, and extracurricular activities simultaneously upon the student’s satisfaction of Vocational High School of Business and Management Groups in Kebumen Regency. (2) There is a significant positive influence of the variable of teachers abilities in classroom managements upon the student’s satisfaction of Vocational High School of Business and Management Groups in Kebumen Regency. (3) There is a significant positive influence of the learning facilities variable upon the student’s satisfaction of Vocational High School of Business and Management Groups in Kebumen Regency. (4) There is a significant positive influence of the extracurricular activities variable upon the student’s satisfactionof Vocational High School of Business and Management Groups in Kebumen Regency.

Abstract

The Impact of Principal Leadership, Welfare Work and Work Discipline Toward Teacher Performance of Junior High School in Kepil Subdistricts of Wonosobo regency in Academic year 2013/2014This study 1) aims to determine the impact of school leadership, welfare received by the teacher, and discipline of work on teacher performance of Junior High School in District Kepil of Wonosobo Regency.2) to prove which variable has the most dominant an teacher’s perfomence.The population of this research are all the govern teachers in Kepil subdistrict of Junior High Sshool concict of 94 teachers, all of them are as the sample. The trials conducted during the research are used for the valid data wich serve as the data reaserch as well. Data were collected using questionnaires which were answered immediately by the teachers. The data gathered from the questionnaires were analyzed statistically by multiple regression techniques.Described by percentage, the results showed that the majority of respondents stated that the principal leadership variables,welfare received by teachers variable, and the discipline variables were categorized very high, whereas the teachers’s performance variables is also categorized very high. As conclusion, the independent variable of school leadership, teacher welfare and work discipline together have positive and significant impact on the performance of teachers. The partial analysis shows that of school leadership has significantly positive impact on teacher’s performance. Teacher welfare is also has significantly positive impact on teacher’s performance, discipline variable has significantly positive impact on teacher performance. This suggests that if the leadership of the principal, welfare received by teachers, and discipline of work increase; the performance of teachers will also increase.

Abstract

The purpose of this reasearch is to get to know the planning, organisation, execution, surveillance, evaluation gained from the integrated education character through the school-based management in Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu Insan Mulia Wonosobo and knowing every obstacle happening and the solution for it. The approach of this research uses qualitative research, the procedure of data aggregation used is observation, interview and documentation. The technique of data analysis forms in qualitative, and the technique of data validity checking done by extending the observation period, continuous observation and source triangulation, triangulation of data aggregation technique and time triangulation. The result of the research gained is : through the integrated character education done according to the school-based management therefore the students of SDIT Insan Mulia Wonosobo have a good character besides achieving either academically or nonacademically and are able to compete in the competition. The school management done by empowering all the existing component by planting character values through (1) planning for the integrated character education committed by the foundation, the principal, the government, the commitee, the teachers and parents, (2) arranging organisation for the integrated character education done through the teaching component, curriculum structure and self-developing programme, (3) execution of the integrated character education committed by integrating Islam values into the subjects, prioritizing qudwah hasanah to create the character of the students, growing the biah solihah in the school climate and environment, involving parents and society to supportfor the sake of education purposes, increasing competention of the educational labours, self-developing activity and accustoming activity, (4) controlling the integrated character education through school-based management done simultaneously by the foundation, the principal, the teachers and parents, (5) evaluating the result of the integrated character education done by the foundation, the principal, the commitee, the teachers and parents which the implementation is done every quarter, semester and one year, (6) the obstacle is usually from the environment where the students live, the solution is to more empower the school cooperation together with parents and society.

Abstract

The Contribution of Teaching Experience, Motivation of Having Achievement, and Principal’s Transformational Leadership toward the Elementary School Teachers’ Work at the Imam Bonjol Group of Sapuran Subdistrict of Wonosobo Regency. This research is directed to analyze and prove the contribution of teaching experience, motivation of having achievement, and principal’s transformational leadership simultaneously and independently toward the Elementary School teachers’ work at the Imam Bonjol group of Sapuran subdistrict of Wonosobo regency. This research is carried out at the Imam Bonjol group of Sapuran subdistrict of Wonosobo regency. The population of this research is the Elementary School teachers at the Imam Bonjol group of Sapuran subdistrict of Wonosobo regency. The sampling technique used is Proportional Random Sampling by applying the Slovin’s Formula. Of teachers as much as 108 people obtained a sample of 86 people. In collecting the data, the researcher uses questionnaire. And in analyzing the data, the researcher appliesRegression analysis by using SPSS for window. The research says that there is a significant positive contribution of teaching experience, achievement motivation, and the principal's transformational leadership on teacher performance. It can be concluded that these three variables is a very closely related to the activity of the teaching profession. In the learning activities require teaching experience as a foundation so that teachers have the motivation to excel, while transformational leadership principals motivate teachers also needed to make changes that can improve their performance to obtain maximum results in learning.
