Abstract

This research aims to develop a comprehensive framework in the integration of Islamic values in early childhood education (PAUD), in order to support the formation of Islamic character, morals, and ethics from an early age. A qualitative approach with a case study method is applied to five early childhood education institutions in Indonesia that have implemented Islamic values in their curriculum. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation analysis of school principals, teachers, and parents. The results of the study show that these early childhood education institutions use exemplary methods, Islamic storytelling, and play activities as the main approach in teaching Islamic values to children. The exemplary method is the most dominant technique because it provides direct examples in daily behavior, while Islamic storytelling is used to convey moral messages in an interesting and easy-to-understand manner for children. Play activities are also integrated with Islamic values, allowing children to learn in a fun and age-appropriate setting. However, this study also found challenges such as limited training for teachers and limited time in implementing the Islamic curriculum to the maximum. Therefore, recommendations for regular teacher training and the development of Islamic modules are prepared as an effort to improve the quality of teaching. The framework resulting from this study makes a significant contribution to the development of an Islamic-based PAUD curriculum that is flexible and adaptive, and is expected to be a practical guide in supporting children's character education from an early age

Abstract

This study aims to assess the impact of the Islamic curriculum on children's development in early childhood education, with a focus on social, moral, and cognitive aspects. The Islamic curriculum applied to early childhood is designed to form a strong character foundation by integrating religious values in learning activities. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with a sample of children aged 4-6 years from several Islamic educational institutions. Data were collected through questionnaires to teachers and parents as well as structured observations in the classroom environment. The results showed that children who studied with the Islamic curriculum had a higher level of social, moral, and cognitive development compared to children in the general curriculum. Social aspects such as obedience, empathy, and cooperation are seen to be stronger, while their moral understanding includes honest, fair, and responsible behavior. In addition, on the cognitive aspect, children show a greater interest in science and mathematics, which are taught in harmony with religious values. This research confirms that a faith-based curriculum not only strengthens the spiritual aspect but is also able to support academic achievement. Thus, it is recommended that the Islamic curriculum in early childhood education continue to be developed to produce a generation with strong character and knowledge

Abstract

This research aims to understand the spiritual development of Muslim children and its implications in the context of formal education and family environment. Spiritual development in children is considered important because it plays a role in shaping character and basic moral values from an early age. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method involving a sample of children aged 6-12 years from three Islamic schools in city X. Data was collected through questionnaires to students, observations in the school environment, and interviews with teachers to better understand aspects of children's spiritual development. The results of the study show that children's spiritual development is greatly influenced by the family environment and formal education. Children from families who are active in worship activities show a deeper understanding of the concept of divinity, higher awareness of worship, and better moral behavior. In addition, religious programs held in schools play a significant role in shaping children's awareness of religious values and improving spiritual reflection skills. This study suggests that the Islamic education curriculum in formal schools continues to integrate spiritual values in a structured manner to support the formation of Muslim children's character with noble character and strong religious understanding. This finding is expected to be the basis for the development of a comprehensive religious education curriculum that is relevant to the needs of children in the modern era

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of Islamic education in building the character of the millennial generation in the digital era. The millennial generation faces various challenges in character building, especially due to the great influence of social media and globalization which brings new values that sometimes contradict Islamic principles. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, this study collects data through in-depth interviews and observations on students and teachers in Islamic-based schools. The results of the study show that Islamic education that emphasizes values such as honesty, responsibility, and discipline has a significant influence on shaping positive character in students. The implementation of programs such as joint tadarus, thematic studies, and other religious activities has proven to be effective in increasing the moral awareness of the millennial generation. However, this study also finds the challenges faced by students in maintaining these values in the midst of the rapid flow of digital information that is not in accordance with Islamic norms. These findings indicate that the Islamic character education strategy needs to be strengthened and adjusted to the needs of the millennial generation who live in an ever-evolving technological environment. Through the adjustment of innovative Islamic learning methods and approaches, Islamic education is expected to be able to form a generation that is not only academically intelligent, but also has noble character and is able to face global challenges. This research contributes to developing a discourse on the importance of Islamic-based character education and its relevance in the digital era

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Islamic values-based character education on early childhood social-emotional development. In this study, a qualitative approach was used with an analytic descriptive method, which involved interviews with educators and parents, direct observation in the classroom, as well as questionnaires filled out by educators. The results showed that the implementation of Islamic values-based character education had a significant positive impact on children's socio-emotional development. Children who received this education showed improvements in their empathy, cooperation and emotion management skills, which were reflected in their daily social interactions, both at school and at home. However, challenges faced in its implementation include limited time to explore the materials, as well as the need for further training for educators. This study provides recommendations for integrating Islamic-based character education more intensively in the early childhood education curriculum and providing support to parents in teaching these values at home. Overall, this study shows that Islam-based character education plays an important role in shaping children's socio-emotional behavior, which supports balanced personal development.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of parents in developing early childhood spiritual intelligence in an Islamic education-based family environment. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, involving 20 parents of young children in Muslim families. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, questionnaires and observation of religious education activities at home. The results showed that mothers have a dominant role in teaching daily prayers, prophet stories and basic worship procedures to their children. However, fathers' involvement in their children's religious education is still limited, with most fathers mostly modeling personal worship without being directly involved in religious teaching activities. The study also found that religious instruction conducted by parents has a positive effect on the development of children's spiritual intelligence, as seen in the children's progress in memorizing prayers and their improved behavior. The study suggests the importance of increasing fathers' involvement in children's religious instruction and encourages the development of programs that involve both parents in early childhood spiritual education.

Abstract

The implementation of the Islamic education curriculum in Early Childhood Education (ECE) is a strategic effort to instill character and Islamic values from an early age. The background of this study is rooted in the importance of internalizing Islamic values in accordance with the developmental stages of children. The objective of this research is to analyze the challenges in applying the Islamic education curriculum in ECE institutions and to identify strategic solutions that can be implemented. This study employs a qualitative approach using literature review and field observations in several Islamic-based ECE institutions. The results reveal that the main challenges include limited teacher competence in comprehensively understanding the Islamic curriculum, lack of contextual learning media, and parental resistance to religious-based pedagogical approaches. Proposed solutions include improving teacher capacity through continuous training, developing creative learning media based on Islamic values, and involving parents in the learning process through Islamic parenting programs. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of collaboration between educational institutions, parents, and the government in successfully implementing the Islamic education curriculum in early childhood settings.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a Qur'an-based learning model in improving Arabic language skills in early childhood. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design involving two Islamic education-based PAUD institutions in Bandung city. Data w ere collected through interviews with institution managers, educators, and parents, as well as direct observation in the classroom. The results show that the Qur'an-based learning model is effective in improving children's understanding of Arabic vocabulary related to religious teachings, such as prayer and worship. The children showed high enthusiasm and quickly memorized the vocabulary taught, as they associated the Arabic language with the spiritual meanings in the Qur'an. Nonetheless, the study also identified challenges related to time constraints in the curriculum and difficulties in thoroughly integrating religious values in Arabic language learning. Therefore, it is recommended to develop a more balanced curriculum and more integrated teaching materials between language and religious values. Overall, the results of this study suggest that Qur'an-based Arabic language teaching can be an effective model in early childhood education, with a positive impact on children's language and character development.

The results showed that children were more enthusiastic and quickly grasped religious concepts such as prayer, prayer and good manners through play-based activities, such as role-playing and drawing. In addition, this approach also supports children's social and emotional development, such as sharing skills, cooperation and self-control. However, the main challenge found was the limited time for effective implementation of play-based activities. Nonetheless, this study concludes that play-based learning is an effective method in teaching Islamic values, which can enhance the understanding and internalization of these values in young children. Therefore, PAUD education institutions are expected to optimize this approach by providing training for educators and involving parents in the learning process.
