Abstract

Senior High School 11 Kendari is one of the schools in Wua Wua District, Kendari City that has low Geography learning outcomes. The ineffective learning model makes students' interest in learning decrease. This study aims to: 1) determine the description of Geography learning outcomes based on learning styles; 2) determine the effect of Inquiry learning models and learning styles on Geography learning outcomes on Natural Disaster Mitigation material for grade XI IPS students of SMA Negeri 11 Kendari. The type of research used is experimental research. The population of the study was 73 students, with a research sample of 27 students. The research data in the form of quantitative data was obtained from tests and questionnaires. The results of the study showed: 1) the average value of learning outcomes were pre-test 41.19 and post-test 86.67; and the average value of learning outcomes based on students' learning styles, kinesthetic pre-test 35.13, visual pre-test 50.27, and auditory pre-test 34.75; and kinesthetic post-test 86.88; visual post-test 89.45; and auditory post-test 82.25; 2) the results of hypothesis testing using one way ANOVA with probability value Sig. = 0.00>0.05 then ho is rejected and ha is accepted. Thus there is an influence of Inquiry learning model and learning style on Geography learning outcomes

Abstract

This research was conducted regarding the phenomenon of low teacher competence and quality. The aim of this research is to find out: 1) teachers' internal and external problems; and 2) efforts to improve the quality and professionalism of teachers at Senior High School 2 Kulisusu. This research uses qualitative research methods, with research subjects being teachers. The research results show that: 1) teacher problems consist of internal problems including weak cognitive and pedagogical competence of teachers, lack of love for their profession, lack of innovation in learning methods. Meanwhile, external problems include a lack of physical facilities and infrastructure that support teaching and learning activities, inadequate compensation, especially for non-civil servantor or honorary teachers, and adjustments to curriculum change policies; and 2) Efforts that can be made with holding various workshop activities related to improving the quality of education, obtaining the latest information about the education quality improvement system, both through social media and collaboration with supervisors, involving teachers in the program Teacher Professional Education and independent training through online resources such as the Platforms Independent Teach application, as well as providing motivation and support to understand information technology.

Abstract

Andoolo District is an area that is very prone to flooding, such as the flash flood in 2013. The purpose of this study was to determine the areas prone to flooding and to determine the data accuracy on the map based on the actual situation in Andoolo District. This type of research is survey and mapping research. Primary data was collected by direct review of the flood location and documentation. Secondary data includes administrative maps, soil type maps, rainfall maps, land use maps, slope maps, and distance from river maps collected from related agencies. Flood vulnerability maps are grouped into classes of not vulnerable, rather vulnerable, quite vulnerable, vulnerable, and very vulnerable. The vulnerable level occupies the largest proportion of 5,128.54 ha or 52% of the total area. The accuracy of the data on the map and the actual situation shows that there are 5 villages exposed to flooding, namely Alangga, Andoolo, Punggapu, Lalobao, and Potoro. s

Abstract

Flooding is an event or situation where an area or land is submerged due to an increased volume of water. Flood disaster education is one of the efforts to overcome flood disasters which often occur in the environment around SMA Negeri 14 Semarang, a school located in North Semarang District, Semarang city. North Semarang District is a district that is prone to flood disasters. Based on this, the aim of this research is to identify knowledge about flood disasters on students' environmental awareness. This type of research uses a quantitative type of research with quantitative descriptive data analysis, then a quasi-experimental design using a one-shot case study. The results of the research show that students' knowledge of flood disasters is moderate and students' environmental awareness is good, this is because knowledge does not directly influence environmental awareness, because this is the perception of different individuals.

Abstract

Barangka Village is a place that has a water source that has a large discharge so that it is able to supply water needs as drinking water. The objectives of this study are: 1) to determine the physical quality of water such as temperature, turbidity, color, odor, and taste; and 2) to determine the chemical quality of water such as pH, salinity, detergent content of Matakidi bathing springs as drinking water in Barangka Village, Barangka District, West Muna Regency. This type of research is a descriptive survey research. The data analysis technique used in this study is comparative data analysis. The results of this study indicate that the average physical quality includes temperature 25.8oC, turbidity 5 NTU, color 11.2 TCU, odorless and tasteless. While the chemical quality includes pH 7.28, salinity 0.02 ppt and detergent content 0.24 mg/l. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the physical and chemical properties of the Matakidi Bathing Spring that do not meet the standard requirements for drinking water are the detergent content because it exceeds the maximum limit that has been determined, namely 0.05 mg/l based on the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010.

Abstract

The use of audio-visual media is crucial to enhance students' understanding of disaster mitigation material as it can improve students' memory retention. This study aims to determine the effect of utilizing audio-visual media on improving disaster mitigation knowledge among 11th-grade students at Senior High School 10 Sigi. The research used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control-group design. The research design involved pretests and posttests in both the experimental and control classes. Data analysis techniques included normality tests, homogeneity tests, N-Gain tests, and t-tests. Based on the results of the N-Gain test calculation, the average N-Gain score in the experimental class using audio-visual media was 75.4%, which falls into the high category. Meanwhile, the average N-Gain score in the control class using conventional teaching methods was 49%, which falls into the medium category. The t-test yielded a Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning the hypothesis is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that audio-visual media significantly impacts improving students' disaster mitigation knowledge at Senior High School 10 Sigi.
