Abstract

Conventional banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) serve as important indicators in assessing national economic stability and performance. Profitability is a key measure of banking performance, commonly assessed using Return on Equity (ROE) to evaluate a bank’s ability to generate profit from shareholders’ equity. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Current Ratio and Non-Performing Loans (NPL) on ROE in State-Owned Banks. The research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data derived from financial statements. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS, including descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The results indicate that both the Current Ratio and NPL partially have a positive and significant effect on ROE. Simultaneously, both variables also show a positive and significant influence on ROE. The Adjusted R² value of 0.271 suggests that 27.1% of the variation in ROE can be explained by the Current Ratio and NPL, while the remaining 72.9% is influenced by other variables outside the research model

Abstract

The accelerating digital transformation has fundamentally reconstructed the modern employment landscape, demanding the integration of technological proficiency and formal educational foundations. In developing regions with mountainous geographical characteristics such as Southeast Aceh Regency, workforce competitiveness challenges are exacerbated by gaps in digital utilization and disparities in educational attainment. This study aims to analyze and empirically demonstrate the effect of digital literacy and educational level on the work readiness of productive-age communities in Southeast Aceh Regency, both partially and simultaneously. Employing an explanatory correlational quantitative approach, this study surveyed 135 productive-age respondents (15–64 years) selected through purposive sampling. Primary data were gathered via a structured 5-point Likert scale questionnaire tested for validity and reliability, and subsequently analyzed using multiple linear regression in IBM SPSS version 26. The empirical findings reveal that digital literacy has a positive and significant effect on work readiness (; ), and educational level similarly exerts a positive and significant effect on work readiness (; ). Simultaneously, both independent variables significantly influence work readiness (; ) with a coefficient of determination () of 0.495. This indicates that 49.5% of the variance in community work readiness is accounted for by digital literacy and education level, while the remaining 50.5% is driven by unmodeled external factors. These findings underline the urgent necessity for policy interventions focusing on productive digital competency enhancement and vocational/higher education alignment in non-metropolitan regions

Abstract

Democratic maturity within modern urban governance requires civic political participation that is not merely grounded in quantitative electoral mobilization, but anchored in rational considerations and substantive comprehension of state dynamics. In the contemporary digital democracy era, Medan City confronts a distinctive challenge marked by a disparity between the high penetration of social media as a public information conduit and variations in civic political literacy levels. This study aims to analyze and quantify the empirical effect of political literacy and social media usage on the political participation of citizens in Medan City, both partially and simultaneously. Employing an explanatory correlational quantitative approach, this research surveyed 150 eligible voters aged  years in Medan City who actively use social media, selected via purposive sampling. Primary data were gathered through a structured 5-point Likert scale questionnaire tested for validity and reliability, and analyzed using multiple linear regression in IBM SPSS Statistics version 26. The empirical findings reveal that political literacy exerts a positive and significant effect on political participation (; ), and social media usage similarly demonstrates a positive and significant effect on political participation (; ). Simultaneously, both independent variables significantly influence civic political participation (; ) with a coefficient of determination () of 0.517. This confirms that 51.7% of the variance in political participation across Medan City is collectively explained by political literacy and social media usage, while the remaining 48.3% is governed by external factors. These findings highlight the strategic urgency of digital civic education to transform online media engagement into critical, well-informed, and constructive democratic participation.

Abstract

This study is designed to examine the effects of human resource (HR) competence and digital marketing on the performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Toba Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia. The study responds to the need for locally embedded MSMEs to convert regional economic opportunities into sustainable business performance through stronger internal capabilities and more effective use of digital channels. The conceptual model integrates the Resource-Based View and Dynamic Capabilities Theory, positioning HR competence as a strategic internal resource and digital marketing as an adaptive capability through which MSMEs can reach, understand, and respond to changing markets. A quantitative correlational-descriptive design with an explanatory orientation is proposed. Primary data will be collected using a five-point Likert questionnaire from 100–150 MSME owners or managers whose firms have operated for at least one year and already use social media or other digital platforms for marketing. Multiple linear regression will be conducted after assessing instrument validity and reliability and examining residual normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. Partial and simultaneous hypotheses will be evaluated using t-tests, the F-test, and the coefficient of determination at the 5% significance level. As the primary dataset was not provided at the manuscript-development stage, empirical coefficients, significance values, and statistical conclusions are intentionally left unreported to preserve research integrity. The manuscript therefore offers a complete pre-results framework that can be finalized immediately after the actual survey data are analyzed.

Abstract

Access to justice for people experiencing poverty cannot be secured by legal norms alone. It requires a policy that is translated into legal services that target groups can know, reach, and use. Langkat Regency enacted Regional Regulation Number 6 of 2024 on Legal Aid for Poor Communities. This study examines the implementation of the regulation and its relevance to access to justice. The research is designed as empirical legal research using a qualitative case-study strategy. George C. Edward III's implementation framework is employed to examine communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure, while the access-to-justice perspective is used to assess information accessibility, service availability, procedural accessibility, and the ability of beneficiaries to use legal mechanisms. At the current manuscript stage, the analysis relies on legislation, official statistics, government documents, legal aid organization data, and court institutional information. Documentary evidence indicates an initial implementation foundation through the enactment of the regional regulation, documented outreach activities in 2025, the formal role of the Langkat Regency Legal Division, and the presence of an accredited legal aid organization in Langkat. Nevertheless, these indicators are insufficient to establish substantive effectiveness. The available materials do not yet provide verified evidence on beneficiary coverage, local budget realization, application-processing time, rejected applications, geographic distribution of services, or the lived experience of poor legal-aid users. The article therefore distinguishes formal policy implementation from experienced access to justice. It argues that implementation should be evaluated through measurable service indicators and users' experiences rather than the existence of regulation and outreach activities alone.

Abstract

The transformation of the contemporary marketing landscape requires Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to adopt digital channels to maintain operational competitiveness and expand market share. In Timor-Leste, digital adoption dynamics face a structural gap between high strategic awareness and low functional integration of social media into sales governance. This study aims to empirically analyze and measure the effect of social media utilization on increasing MSME sales in Timor-Leste. Grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework and digital marketing theory, this quantitative correlational study involved 120 MSME owners or managers across Dili, Baucau, and Maliana selected via purposive sampling. Primary data were gathered through structured questionnaires using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using simple linear regression via SPSS version 26. Instrument testing confirmed that all items were valid and reliable (), satisfying normality and linearity assumptions. The regression results demonstrate that social media utilization has a positive and significant effect on MSME sales growth in Timor-Leste (, ). The coefficient of determination () of 0.431 indicates that 43.1% of the variance in sales volume increase is explained by the intensity and effectiveness of social media utilization, while the remaining 56.9% is influenced by other external variables. These findings underscore the urgency of strengthening digital literacy, improving connectivity infrastructure, and formulating community interactivity-based content strategies for business actors in post-conflict developing nations.
