Abstract

Bali is renowned for its natural beauty and delicious traditional cuisine, such as ayam betutu and babi guling. Despite numerous online platforms offering Balinese recipes, the information provided is often lacking in detail. Therefore, a new search system with categories such as main ingredients, cooking duration, servings, cooking methods, and types of dishes is needed. Ontology, which represents knowledge explicitly and structurally, can be used to develop a more efficient and targeted search system for Balinese recipes. In this research to build the ontology model, the authors used the Methontology method. Research on building an ontology for a Balinese food search system utilized Protégé 4.2.0 software and SPARQL for data queries. The Methontology method resulted in 13 classes, 5 object properties, 4 data properties, and 64 individuals. Testing was conducted using SPARQL queries to verify the accuracy of the developed ontology.

Abstract

Information technology has changed the educational landscape with the emergence of e-learning applications, including Edlink, a Learning Management System (MLS) platform that provides various educational features. User reviews are an important factor in evaluating app quality, and sentiment analysis is a useful tool for understanding these reviews. This research uses the Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Naive Bayes methods to analyze the sentiment of Edlink reviews. The dataset was obtained from GitHub and processed through the TF-IDF preprocessing and feature extraction stages. SVM and Naive Bayes were trained with this data and evaluated using a confusion matrix. The results show that SVM performs better than Naive Bayes, with an accuracy value of around 90%. In 1814 reviews, SVM provided higher precision, recall, and f1- score values for both sentiments (positive and negative) compared to Naive Bayes.

Abstract

Balinese Gamelan, a traditional ensemble music from Bali, Indonesia, encompasses a rich cultural heritage. However, organizing and classifying its diverse musical compositions pose significant challenges. In this study, we propose an ontology-based semantic web approach for organizing and classifying Balinese Gamelan music. We develop an ontology that captures the hierarchical and relational structure of Gamelan music elements. Leveraging semantic web technologies, particularly RDF (Resource Description Framework) and SPARQL (SPARQL Protocol and RDF Query Language), we create a knowledge base that represents the ontology and facilitates efficient data retrieval and classification. Our approach provides a systematic and comprehensive framework for organizing and accessing Balinese Gamelan music information, offering a valuable resource for musicologists, researchers, and enthusiasts.

Abstract

The development of communication methods has changed a lot in the current digital era, people who initially communicated face-to-face or through a mail are starting to be communicating through the internet. Nowadays, people more often exchange information on social media. The increasingly widespread internet infrastructure makes it easier for people to access social media without being limited by place or time. The vast digital world certainly requires a way to secure the information circulating through the internet. The vulnerability of data on the internet to hacking and leaks makes it important to have strong security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access. Encryption plays an important role in overcoming this problem. Encryption is the process of changing text data into another form that cannot be understood without knowing the correct decryption key. This research applies two different encryption methods to secure text data, utilizing a combination of the Caesar cipher and RSA algorithms to strengthen data security. The proposed system offers enhanced protection against potential security breaches, ensuring data confidentiality and integrity.

Abstract

This study discusses the development of a fire monitoring system in a semi-outdoor multi-storey car park by utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The experimental research method is used with the design science research method (DSRM) stage. The system uses MQ-2, DHT11, and YG-1006 sensors to detect smoke, temperature increases, and flames. Data from the sensors is processed using fuzzy logic to determine the level of danger by the Arduino Uno microcontroller and notifications are forwarded via the LCD display to security officers. The test results show that the system can produce digital values that represent the level of danger based on environmental conditions. The conclusion states that this system has the potential to improve responsiveness and reliability in dealing with fire risks in a semi-outdoor multi-storey car park environment.

Abstract

Facial Expressions Recognition (FER) is a vital task in human-computer interaction. This field can be used to augment many other fields such as learning, content suggestions and many more. This paper aims to propose a simple FER approach utilizing a custom Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture for real-time emotion recognition, complemented by Hard Cascades for efficient face detection. The model is trained on a large and reputable dataset encompassing various facial expressions classified into 7 main emotions. The result of this study yields an accuracy of 60.78% achieved on the training data and 57.32% on the validation data. This shows that with even a very simplified approach with a custom CNN model, we can relatively accurately recognize facial expressions. This study aims to be a kind of groundwork for more advanced approaches to FER.

Abstract

In communities that are busy with high activity and mobility, the time spent keeping health and fitness is often limited. Limited access to facilities makes for a roadblock. This research offers a solutive strategy by using mobile applications to plan sports according to daily user routines. The focus of research is the development of user interfaces and user experiences mobile applications aimed at overcoming lack of knowledge and fitness support. Using the Design Thinking method, the research identified the user's main difficulties in managing time and maintaining consistency in exercise. From a survey of 15 respondents with 15 - 25 years old age range, the application scored 80.5 (grade B) with a System Usability Scale method. With a Design Thinking method, the Skillzone can identify user challenges and devise solutions that suit their needs.

Abstract

This study aims to implement Internet of Things (IoT) technology in a LPG gas leakage detection system to prevent potential house fires. Utilizing gas sensors, Arduino, and other electronic components, this device aims to provide early warnings and quick responses to the presence of potentially hazardous gas levels. The research methodology includes system requirement analysis, device design, and functionality testing. Test results demonstrate that the system is capable of detecting leaks with good sensitivity, specifically detecting gas levels above or equal to 500. The system also accurately recognizes changes in gas concentrations and provides warnings through LED lights, Piezo alarms, and an LCD screen. Data analysis confirms the system's performance and asserts its effectiveness in emergency situations.

Abstract

In the modern era, online shopping for clothing presents the challenge of determining the correct size. This research aims to predict clothing sizes using Polynomial Regression, which can capture the non-linear relationships between body metrics and clothing sizes. The study utilizes a dataset from Kaggle comprising weight, height, age, and clothing size attributes. Through data preprocessing, including feature transformation, engineering, selection, and cleaning, the dataset is prepared for analysis. Various models are evaluated, and Polynomial Regression is identified as the most effective, achieving an R² score of 0.70755203. Hyperparameter tuning using GridSearchCV further optimizes the model, resulting in a final R² score of 72.555511% with degree 5 and alpha 1. The evaluation indicates that while the model accurately predicts sizes, it sometimes struggles with adjacent sizes, particularly in medium ranges. This research demonstrates the potential of Polynomial Regression in improving the accuracy of clothing size predictions, thereby facilitating better online shopping experiences.

Abstract

Diabetes is a condition that happens in our metabolic system characterized by high level of blood sugar or known as hyperglycemia. Hyperglycemia can either be caused by auto immune insulin destruction problems or insulin resistance in the body. According to World Health Organization, nearly 350 million people suffers from diabetes. Several unwanted side effects can occur from diabetes such as blindness, amputation, and kidney failures if they aren’t aware of the disease. Sadly, not many people know the dangers of diabetes. Therefore, a machine that can accurately and efficiently classify diabetes from its symptoms is our top priorities. On this research SelectKBest feature selection when paired with Random Forest Algorithm is fairly accurate at classifying and predicting diabetes with accuracy and recall value of 0.72 each.
