Abstract

This study presents the development of a web-based decision support system (DSS) utilizing the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to evaluate student mental health based on the SRQ- 20 questionnaire. Data collected via the questionnaire were processed using SAW to determine relative criterion weights. The DSS aims to assist educational institutions in supporting student mental well-being by identifying those needing attention. Results reveal that out of 10 sampled students, 8 experienced mental health distress. The SAW method effectively ranked students based on mental health conditions, offering insights for intervention strategies. The study concludes that the implementation of SAW in the DSS proved effective in identifying mental health concerns among students, highlighting the importance of proactive measures in supporting their well-being within academic settings. Further research may explore alternative methods to enhance decision-making processes regarding student mental health.

Abstract

In the face of the rapidly developing digital era, hotel search applications have become an important tool for tourists to plan their trips efficiently. However, the success of a hotel search application depends not only on the accuracy of the information, but also on a satisfactory user experience. Therefore, User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design plays an important role in creating attractive, functional and intuitive applications. This research discusses the design of a hotel search application in Karangasem, Bali, using the Design Thinking method. This method includes the Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Testing stages. The results showed that the application developed obtained an average score of 77.75 which represents grade B. The evaluation was carried out using the System Usability Scale (SUS) involving 10 respondents. It is hoped that this application can help tourists obtain comprehensive information about hotels in Karangasem and provide a satisfactory user experience in planning their trip.

Abstract

In this digital era, technology pervades every aspect of daily life, revolutionizing industries and interactions. Within this landscape, online-based transportation services have emerged as transformative solutions, notably exemplified by Gojek in Indonesia. This study delves into sentiment analysis of Gojek reviews using Multinomial Naive Bayes and Bag-of-Words extraction, aiming to gauge user perceptions and responses. Leveraging a dataset of 9.996 App reviews, the research undertakes comprehensive preprocessing, including case folding, filtering, tokenization, stopword removal, and stemming, followed by sentiment labeling. By employing Bag-of-Words feature extraction, textual data is converted into numerical vectors, enabling the application of the Multinomial Naive Bayes classification model. Evaluation metrics, derived from a confusion matrix, reveal an accuracy rate of 86.29%, with precision, recall, and F1-Score values of 86.94%, 86.41%, and 86.26% respectively. This study underscores the efficacy of the adapted Multinomial Naive Bayes model with Bag-of-Words feature extraction in discerning user sentiments towards Gojek, offering valuable insights for enhancing service applications in the digital realm.

Abstract

SIKUAT is an application/platform developed to be an information system that manages and disseminates information related to health centers in Sidoarjo. Based on observations made on the features owned by the SIKUAT application, reviews on the Play Store, and also interviews conducted with 5 users of the application. It was found that there were problems in the UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) aspects of the SIKUAT mobile application. The problems faced in the SIKUAT mobile application include typography, layout, lack of navigation, and lack of something interesting for users to linger in the system. Therefore, this study will apply the usercentered design method which begins with the process of understanding the context of use to meet human-based needs (user-centered), which aims to create something new based on user needs. The results of this study will produce a prototype of the SIKUAT application that has been re-engineered (redesigned). Furthermore, the prototype was tested using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method and obtained an average SUS value of 82.5. From the results of this test, it can be concluded that the redesign of the SIKUAT application has been successful and well received by users, because it meets the acceptable feasibility criteria.

Abstract

Employee termination, or Pemutusan Hubungan Kerja (PHK) in Indonesian, is a complex and sensitive process that profoundly affects both employees and companies. While necessary for organizational viability, terminations can have adverse effects on employees, including unemployment and emotional distress. Hence, it is crucial to approach termination decisions objectively. This study implements the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Vise Kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) methodologies within a decision support system framework for PHK. AHP facilitates criterion weighting, while VIKOR aids in alternative ranking. Using employee datasets from Kaggle, AHP determines criterion importance, while VIKOR assesses employee ranking based on diverse criteria. The method successfully ranks the alternatives based on the labels. The values v=0 has the lowest termination percentage 5,6% at Q2 and v=0,75 has the highest termination percentage 98%. The implementation aims to provide insights for readers and support companies in making objective termination decisions.

Abstract

The development of information technology has encouraged digitalization in various sectors, including hospitality. However, many hotels still manage room reservation data manually, making them prone to recording errors and slow service. This research aims to design a structured webbased hotel room reservation database system, using the Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), Conceptual Data Model (CDM), and Physical Data Model (PDM) approaches. The method used follows the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model, starting from requirements analysis, system design, to implementation. The design includes six main entities: Customer, Receptionist, Manager, Room, Reservation, and Payment, which are interconnected through clear relationships. CDM is used to conceptually simplify the data structure, while PDM describes technical aspects such as data types, primary keys, and foreign keys. With a systematic design, it is expected that this system can improve the efficiency of data management, minimize errors, and support hotel operations optimally.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has significantly facilitated data management, particularly in the field of education. However, this convenience also presents new challenges in ensuring data security, especially for academic information that is sensitive and vulnerable to unauthorized access. This study aims to develop a web-based academic data security system by implementing the AES-256 encryption algorithm in Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) mode. The system is built using the PHP programming language and MySQL database to manage student data such as name, NISN, class, address, gender, religion, and mother’s name. The core functionality lies in encrypting and decrypting sensitive information using the openssl_encrypt and openssl_decrypt functions, integrated with a 256-bit encryption key and a randomly generated Initialization Vector (IV) to ensure confidentiality. The encrypted data is stored in base64 format to maintain compatibility with relational databases and storage systems. Testing was conducted to evaluate the accuracy of the encryption-decryption process and to assess the impact on system performance. Results show that the system effectively secures sensitive data; the encrypted entries in the database are unreadable to unauthorized users and can only be restored using the correct encryption key and IV. With a simple yet functional user interface and automated encryption handling, the system proves to enhance academic data security without compromising operational efficiency. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of AES-256-CBC encryption can be effectively applied in educational information systems, offering a practical and reliable solution for safeguarding academic data in web-based environments.

Abstract

Chess is known worldwide as an activity that is both considered a sport and a game alike, and yet it is also a way to develop the mind of people so that it might be sharper. In the game of chess there exists multiple types of chess pieces that are designed to be easily differentiated, and yet with the changing of time these differences might be reduced due to artistic reasons. Because of the reasons stated above that this research is conducted, which is to classify the multiple types of chess pieces so that beginner players might be able to differentiate them easily while playing a game of chess. The classification method that is proposed to be used in this research is still in the most basic knowledge and purposed to pique interest towards other researchers in using random forest classification in this topic.

Abstract

Increased awareness of the importance of household organic waste management has driven the development of innovation in waste treatment. This paper deals with the design and implementation of intelligent garbage cans that can turn household trash, especially food and vegetable residues, into high-quality composite materials. The system uses efficient aerobic composting technology to accelerate the organic decomposition process. Through automatic monitoring and optimum setting of environmental conditions, these garbage cans can produce fertile compost in a short time. In addition to providing practical solutions to household garbage management, the importance of keeping the environment on its own is also emphasized. Through awareness of the negative impact of waste on the environment, individuals can play an active role in promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

Abstract

Short Message Service (SMS) has become one of the most popular communication media. However, the ease and speed of sending SMS is also utilized by irresponsible parties to send spam messages. These spam messages not only annoy users but can also cause financial losses and theft of personal data. The purpose of this research is to compare feature extraction methods that have the best performance such as TF-IDF and Bag of Word tested with Multinomial Naive Bayes machine learning algorithm. For the first research stage, load dataset, data balancing, data preprocessing, feature extraction, modeling with machine learning algorithms, and then testing and comparing confusion matrix models on each feature extraction. The results of this study show that the use of BoW feature extraction has better performance than the TF-IDF feature extraction model with an accuracy value of 94.44%.
