Abstract

This study aimed to generate a teaching package in a lesson plan and student worksheet using the TPACK integrated Collaborative Inquiry model, which can improve higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) validly and effectively. The development research design followed the four-D-models development model, consisting of 4 phases: define, design, develop, and disseminate. At define, several observations and literacy studies were carried out. At design, teaching materials were designed. The experts validated the teaching materials in development, namely two lecturers and two teachers as users. Based on the validation results, it is found that the lesson plan and student worksheet were within the good or valid criteria to be used. HOTS was measured using two-tier multiple-choice in the form of 15 questions with good categories and high-reliability categories. The feasibility test was based on expert validation. The results show that the teaching material is in good criteria, so it is suitable for use under several conditions. The implementation results can affect the differences in the results of the pretest and post-test student’s HOTS-based observation during learning and increased scores.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the difficulties of vocational education teachers in applying the teachings of Tamansiswa Ki Hadjar Dewantara (KHD) method in the learning process. This study used the descriptive qualitative approach that was chosen to reveal the existing phenomena based on the perspectives of 12 vocational education teachers. The data collection techniques used in-depth interviews and observation. The study results reveal that teachers still limit the teachings of Tamansiswa KHD. All teachers only know the basics of concepts, and even then, they cannot elaborate more deeply on the concepts of the teachings. The teacher admitted that it was difficult to apply the teachings during the learning process and received confirmation directly from the results of observations, which found no teaching activity for Tamansiswa KHD during the learning process and in the teachers' plan. Various socialization and training are needed to provide a comprehensive understanding for teachers in applying these teachings in learning so that their character values can be reflected in students.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop a valid and reliable integrated ability assessment instrument (IAAI) to measure the multiple representations and chemical literacy of senior high school students related to the reaction rates. The framework developed in this research was implemented based on a 4-D model (defining, designing, developing, and disseminating). The integrated assessment consisted of five items of essay questions. The preliminary version of the IAAI was initially piloted on reviews by experts, and the paper-pencil test was given to a group of students. The obtained data were analyzed using Item Response Theory (IRT). In addition, Generalized Partial Credit Model (GPCM) model was conducted to examine the parameter quality, which estimated the test items. The content validity, construct validity, and quality of the items suggest that the integrated assessment ability instrument has a high score in validity and reliability. The analysis results of the instrument trial data indicate that the integrated abilities of students are in the medium category.

Abstract

This study focused on exploring how the online learning design of Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) course facilitated the development of students’ self-regulated learning. This study was conducted at the State University of Malang, Indonesia, and used a qualitative approach in the form of a case study as its research method. Based on Bandura’s learner agency theory, the data were collected through documentation, online-based interviews, and observation. After being collected, the data then were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. Findings show that the PAI course at the State University of Malang had four learning design stages: stimulation and problem identification, learning problem-content analysis, verification of results, and generalization. These stages facilitated the development of students’ self-regulated learning, as observed through three indicators owned by each student, namely, creativity, ability to think critically, and self-regulation. The implication of this study is the emergence of the technical-didactic side of online Islamic education learning through a designed learning design stage so that, in the end, it will lead to benefits in achieving educational goals more effectively.
