Abstract

Abstract The purpose of the research is to improve: (a) the student reading skill at the first grade of elementary school, (b) the learning reading motivation, (c) the learning reading attention, and (d) the activity of the learning reading at the first grade of elementary school. This study is a classroom action research and the subjects are the teacher and the students of the first grade of Sapen, Yogyakarta Elementary School. The research consists of three cycles. The study involved, the teacher of the improving of the effectiveness of the teaching learning reading in the first grade of state Elementary School. The results of this research are as follows:a) the students reading skill, b) the learning reading motivation c) the attention; The Elementary School students activity in Sapen, Yogyakarta gets improvement after giving the implementation of the action; the teacher is able to construct the design of action research on reading learning teaching by using the reinforcement and drawing media; the teacher and the students respond the implementation of the teaching learning reading using reinforcement role and drawing media positively. Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to improve learning activity and achievement in Probability Theory, through the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL). This research was done in three cycles on first semester students of Mathematics Education of the University Mataram, iin the academic year 2005/2006. In this research, the implementation of PBL model is combined with cooperative model in the phase of problem solving. By improving the quality of learning on each cycle, activity and achievement of students improved significantly, that is the average of achievement is 62.8 at the end of the first cycle, 71.6 in the second and 87.8 at the third. Students’ activity also improved, that is 47% in first cycle, 67% in second and 88% in third. It indicates that PBL implemented in the last cycle can be made as one of instruction model in university, especially for study of probability theory. Abstract

Abstract Result learn the student of FIK UNY in subject Sport Psychology less gratifying. Approach model the Strategy Program for Effective Learning/ thinking (SPELT) represent one effort innovate to  increase the quality of result learn the students. This research aim to know the  model applying in improving achievementlearn the student of FIK UNY in subject Sport Psychology. This research use the device of action research. Subject and research object is student FIK UNY. Used Research Instrument: (1) pre test and post test; (2) sheet of method observation learn; and (3) sheet of observation of assessment of student activity in study;(4) sheet of applying observation model the SPELT. Data type obtained by there is two that is quantitative data and qualitative by using technique analysis t test. Result of research indicate that the Sport Psychology study by applying model the SPELT earn: (1) improving result learn the student in subject Sport Psychology; and  (2) increasing the quality of study process in subject Sport psychology. Abstract

Abstract The aims of this research is to develop an affective evaluation models and to produce its evaluation instrument in the course of Education on Islam religion for students of D-II Elementary School Teachers Education so that there will be a qualified standard of non-test instrument. This research is a development research study with population consisting of students of D-II elementary School Teachers Education of Yogyakarta State University of 2004/2005 academic year who took the course on education of Islam religion. The sample was selected purposively involving classes N.15 and D.15 class. The development research followed the research steps: 1) Preparation; 2) Construction of an affective evaluation; 3) Models try out; 4) Model analysis; 5) Evaluation and reflection. Analyze data involve the use of statistic parametric with factor analysis. The data analysis employing the SPSS Program shows that, from 50 items in the effective evaluation instrument on education of Islam religion, 8 items are invalid because their F value are smaller than 0.3 and 4 items are invalid because F values are negative. From the eigenvalue with F values greater than 1 as F values that can be used as a factor of a traits,the affective evaluation instrument for Education of islam comprised 28 faktors with a cumulative percentage 90.27%. from the statistical figure, it can be conclude that the affective evaluation instrument for Education instrument for Education of Islam religion can be used as an affective evaluation instrument. The Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient is 0.7. therefore, this instrument is reliable enough to measure an affective aspect in Education of islam. Abstract

Abstract This research aims to make the learning model that able to develop the natural intelligence suitable for the learning process of the first class of the elementary school. This research is the developing research based on the Borg and Gall’s model (1983). The product developed in this research is the science learning model. The experiment did in the SD Sultan Agung, Yogyakarta, involving 1 teacher and 24 students. Because of the lack of time and finance in research, the experiment was done only one school. The data are collected by observation documentation and interview. This data are analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The result of this research showed that the teacher can stimulate the natural intelligence through the science learning model developed by the researcher. This model can also stimulate the student’s natural intelligence. The field experiments showed that the science learning developed to be implemented out of the class made the students more actives, more spirit, and cheerful than other activities done in  the class. The science learning done with giving more assignment made the students more actives than speech and interview method. Keywords: science learning model, stimulate natural intelligence.

Abstract

Abstract This study is to accelerate or develop communicative or functional competence in using Indonesian and English of General and Vocational Senior High School students through communicative approach. Several techniques are used. The Picture Cue Card technique is used for the students of the State Vocational Senior High School 3 Purwokerto, whereas the Feature Analysis technique is used for the students of General Senior High School of Abdi Negara of Muntilan. Retelling technique is used for the students of State Vocational Senior High School1 of Depok, whereas the Progressive technique is used for the students of the State General High School 7 of Yogyakarta. This research is a classroom action rsearch with communicative learning approach. The result show following: (1) Picture Cue Card thechnique can accelerate English ability. (2) Feature Analysis technique can accelerate the mastery of Indonesian vocabulary (3) Retelling technique can accelerate the ability in reading English texts (4) Progressive learning can accelerate the ability in writing in Indonesian. Abstract

Abstract This research was intended to know the extent to which Contextual Teaching and Learning (CLT) are able to overcome practical problems in compliance with the students’ ability to construct a concept from what they learned. The research subjects are the students of the academic years 2003/2004 who take the Introduction to Economic Science. This research involved 40 first semester students, one lecturer as the researcher and the executor of the action, two observer lecturers. Since there is lack of time in the accordance with the grouping and the students’ classification takes time, two methods are used to improve: the students’ participation in discussing the results of their discussion, the students’ way in revealing describing oral description review, the students’ capability in construction concept. It is found that CTL has the following weaknesses: the frequent use of CTL method makes the students boring. For the students with high level of learning motivation it is ex citing because they have chance to express more opinions, but for those with low level of learning motivation it is not interesting.
