Abstract

Alternative treatment for lowering sugar levels can be done through the use of herbal plants such as soursop leaves. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of soursop leaf extract (Annona muricata L.) in reducing blood glucose levels in Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients. This research uses a literature study method, with data taken from scientific articles or journals within the last five years. Data was collected using the Google Scholar search engine with the keywords "diabetes mellitus," "soursop leaf extract," and "reducing sugar levels". Research shows that soursop leaf extract (Annona muricata L.) contains flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, and saponins which are effective in lowering blood glucose levels through various mechanisms, including inhibiting sugar absorption, increasing glucose tolerance, stimulating insulin release, and regulating carbohydrate metabolism enzymes. The results of clinical and in silico trials support the effectiveness of this extract, making it a potential herbal treatment alternative amidst the current high costs of diabetes care. This research encourages the use of soursop leaves as a promising therapy and recommends further research to optimize its benefits.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of the pharmaceutical sector in controlling infectious diseases, focusing on strategies, challenges, and solutions that can be implemented. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to collect and analyze data from related literature. Inclusion criteria include articles published in the last ten years, using English or Indonesian, and discussing pharmaceutical strategies in controlling infectious diseases. The literature search process was carried out through scientific databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. The results of this study are Infectious disease control strategies involve the development of new vaccines and drugs, efficient drug distribution, and public education. The pharmaceutical sector plays an important role in creating medical solutions and implementing vaccination campaigns. The main challenge is antimicrobial resistance, which is caused by the unwise use of antibiotics. To overcome this challenge, public education, strict supervision in health facilities, and the development of new drugs are needed. The application of digital technology, such as AI-based applications, can also help monitor drug use and provide early warnings about the spread of disease. The role of pharmacists is vital in providing information and education about disease prevention, correct drug use, and the importance of vaccination. With innovative solutions such as the development of emergency pharmaceutical packages, the implementation of e-prescription, and technology-based training for pharmacists, it is hoped that the global health system can be more resilient in dealing with infectious disease outbreaks. Collaboration between the pharmaceutical sector, governments, and international organizations is essential in strengthening infectious disease control efforts and improving the readiness of the global health system.

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to collect, evaluate, and synthesize findings from relevant studies on the use of evidence-based data in drug development. The method used was a Qualitative Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which focused on understanding in-depth how the integration of data from clinical trials, big data, and laboratory studies can improve drug efficacy and safety. Through this approach, the study identified experiences, perceptions, and findings in the literature on drug development, and how this evidence supports decisions in drug selection and testing. The results showed that evidence-based pharmacy has great potential to improve the efficacy and safety of therapies by leveraging the integration of data from various sources and advanced analytical technologies. This approach can address key challenges in modern pharmacy, such as drug resistance and patient response variability, and result in more personalized and effective therapies. However, the implementation of evidence-based pharmacy requires support from various stakeholders, including academia, industry, and policy makers. Challenges such as data interoperability and privacy protection need to be addressed to ensure wider adoption. With a strategic and collaborative approach, evidence-based pharmacy can be the foundation for better precision medicine in the future, providing significant benefits to patients worldwide.

Abstract

Pharmacy practice plays a crucial role in the modern healthcare system, providing access to safe and effective medicines for the public. However, in carrying out their profession, pharmacists are often faced with complex moral dilemmas. The modern era, with technological advances and commercial pressures, further complicates ethical decision-making. This article aims to examine ethical responsibilities in pharmacy practice and how pharmacists deal with conflicts of interest between economic gain and patient interests. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this study identifies the main challenges faced by pharmacists in maintaining professional integrity while meeting regulatory demands and social expectations. The results suggest that pharmacists must adopt a balanced, value-based approach, where priority is given to patient welfare without neglecting the business aspects that are an integral part of healthcare. The discussion also explains the importance of developing ethical guidelines that are adaptive and relevant to the challenges of the digital era. The conclusion of this study is that a collaborative approach between government, professional organizations, and educational institutions can help create a stronger framework to support pharmacists in dealing with moral dilemmas in the workplace.
