Abstract

This research investigates the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention among Generation Z employees working in an edutainment company. Recognized for their digital expertise, high expectations, and generally low organizational loyalty, Generation Z employees are often associated with elevated turnover rates. To examine this phenomenon, the study adopts a quantitative method using a census sampling technique, gathering responses from 56 Gen Z employees through a structured questionnaire. Job satisfaction was assessed through five dimensions: salary, promotion opportunities, coworker relationships, the nature of the work, and supervisory support. Meanwhile, turnover intention was evaluated using three indicators: the frequency of thoughts about leaving, the desire to seek alternative employment, and the actual intention to resign. The collected data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach. The analysis revealed a strong and statistically significant negative relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention (β = –0.858, p < 0.001), indicating that higher job satisfaction substantially reduces the likelihood of employees wanting to leave. Additionally, the model demonstrated a high explanatory power with an R² value of 0.736, suggesting that job satisfaction accounts for a considerable portion of the variance in turnover intention. Among the five job satisfaction dimensions, supervision emerged as the most influential factor in retaining Generation Z employees. These findings provide valuable insights into the work attitudes of Generation Z, emphasizing the importance of effective managerial support in fostering employee satisfaction and reducing turnover. The study offers practical implications for edutainment companies and similar industries, highlighting the need to develop targeted strategies that enhance job satisfaction, particularly in terms of leadership and workplace culture, in order to retain young talent in a competitive labor market.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology, particularly in personal data processing, has significantly increased the collection and utilization of biometric data, which includes unique biological characteristics such as fingerprints, facial features, voice patterns, and iris scans. Biometric data is highly sensitive, immutable, and directly linked to an individual's identity, making its misuse or unauthorized disclosure a serious and permanent threat to privacy rights. This research examines the adequacy of legal protection provided by Law Number 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (PDP Law) in Indonesia, with a specific focus on jurisdictional challenges in cross-border contexts—especially when foreign entities, such as Worldcoin, process such data. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the role of the PDP Law in safeguarding biometric data and to identify potential legal and practical barriers in cross-border enforcement. The study adopts a normative-empirical legal approach, integrating juridical analysis, legislative review, and conceptual examination, while also taking into account technological developments such as artificial intelligence and blockchain-based identity systems. The findings indicate that while the PDP Law represents a substantial milestone in Indonesia’s data protection framework, significant structural limitations remain. These include the absence of detailed implementing regulations, insufficient institutional oversight, and the lack of effective international cooperation mechanisms. Such gaps hinder the enforcement of biometric data protection, particularly in cross-border scenarios. To address these challenges, the study recommends several measures: strengthening technical regulations, establishing a robust supervisory authority, and developing comprehensive cross-border legal frameworks aligned with international standards. Furthermore, collaboration among the government, private sector, and civil society is essential to create a biometric data protection ecosystem that is both adaptive and resilient to rapid global technological changes. By doing so, Indonesia can enhance the protection of its citizens' biometric data while fostering trust in the digital economy.

Abstract

This study examines the implications of Islamic economic philosophy on national economic growth, with a particular focus on Indonesia. The paper explores how key principles within Islamic economics, such as justice, equity, and the prohibition of usury (riba), contribute to fostering a more inclusive and sustainable economic framework. These principles, which aim to ensure wealth is fairly distributed and that financial transactions are ethical, offer solutions that can address inequalities and foster long-term economic development. By analyzing secondary data from governmental reports, institutional publications, and global economic trends, this study reveals that Islamic economic instruments such as zakat (charitable giving), waqf (endowment), and the prohibition of riba (interest) have played significant roles in wealth redistribution, poverty alleviation, and the promotion of social welfare in Indonesia. Zakat and waqf, in particular, have been instrumental in channeling resources to the underprivileged and marginalized communities, helping reduce the gap between the rich and the poor. The study also highlights how Islamic economic practices align with global sustainable development goals (SDGs), emphasizing their relevance in addressing pressing global challenges such as inequality, climate change, and financial inclusion. This alignment demonstrates that Islamic economics offers a framework that is not only culturally and religiously rooted but also adaptable to global economic objectives. Despite the promising impact of these principles, the study concludes that Indonesia has made progress but still faces challenges in fully realizing their potential. Key areas for improvement include enhancing the management of zakat and waqf, boosting the competitiveness of the halal economy, and strengthening the connection between Islamic finance and global financial systems. These areas require continued efforts and policy support to maximize the benefits of Islamic economic principles in driving sustainable national economic growth.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the potential integration between Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in shaping character education and global citizenship awareness. By analyzing a range of scholarly works, this study highlights how Islamic values such as justice (‘adl), responsibility (mas’uliyyah), social care (ta‘āwun), and balance (mīzān) align closely with the core principles of the SDGs. Through a literature review and content analysis, the study provides evidence that Islamic values are essential in fostering individuals who are not only religiously devout but also critically aware of global issues. These individuals are better equipped to become agents of change within their communities and on the global stage. The study underscores the importance of integrating PAI as a strategic component for the moral and spiritual development of learners, promoting their engagement in both local and international efforts to achieve sustainable development. The findings of this article suggest that while PAI is well-positioned to contribute to the realization of SDGs, particularly in areas of justice, equity, and social welfare, a transformation in teaching approaches is necessary. Traditional methods of teaching PAI need to evolve to be more contextual, active, and integrative, encompassing a more global perspective in line with the SDGs. Furthermore, there needs to be greater synergy between educational institutions, curriculum policies, and teaching methods to maximize the role of PAI in shaping future generations who are not only religiously grounded but also socially responsible. This article concludes by recommending strengthening innovative teaching methods and fostering collaborations that enhance the capacity of PAI to support just and inclusive sustainable development. This approach will ensure that PAI contributes effectively to achieving the SDGs in the context of character education and global citizenship.

Abstract

Class imbalance poses a critical challenge in educational performance prediction, particularly in accurately identifying at-risk students within small datasets. This study rigorously evaluates three data balancing strategies—baseline imbalanced processing, SMOTE (Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique), and SMOTE-TOMEK—integrated with the XGBoost classifier, using academic records from 161 Indonesian junior high school students. The objective is to assess their effectiveness in improving minority-class recognition and overall model reliability. The results demonstrate that SMOTE-TOMEK significantly outperforms other methods, achieving a 75% recall for the minority class—representing a 50% absolute improvement over both SMOTE and the baseline. It also recorded the highest scores across key metrics: AUC-PR (0.9874), Matthews Correlation Coefficient (0.6786), and G-mean (0.8345). Notably, SMOTE-TOMEK identified one additional at-risk student for every four cases without compromising majority-class precision (93%), highlighting its practical utility in real-world educational interventions. In contrast, while SMOTE improved probabilistic metrics such as AUC-ROC (0.9286), it failed to reduce false negatives, maintaining the baseline’s 50% error rate in identifying at-risk students. The optimal SMOTE-TOMEK configuration enabled the use of shallower decision trees and stronger regularization, validating its effectiveness in reducing noise and enhancing generalization. Statistical significance of the results was confirmed using Wilcoxon signed-rank tests at a 0.01 significance level. These findings underscore the importance of hybrid resampling techniques in educational AI pipelines. SMOTE-TOMEK not only enhances predictive accuracy but also translates model performance into actionable insights for supporting marginalized learners. The study advocates for its prioritization in future educational data science applications, especially where early identification of vulnerable students is essential for targeted academic support and policy formulation.
