Abstract

This research explores the historical development and philosophical foundations of market mechanisms within Islamic economics by analyzing key ideas derived from the Prophet Muhammad’s practices and the intellectual contributions of prominent classical scholars such as Abu Yusuf, Al-Ghazali, Ibn Taymiyah, and Ibn Khaldun. By conducting a comprehensive literature review, the study traces how these early economic principles—rooted in ethical trade, social justice, fair pricing, and market regulation—have shaped the evolution of Islamic economic thought and how they remain relevant in addressing contemporary global challenges. The research underscores that many classical Islamic economic values—such as promoting equity, discouraging monopolies, ensuring transparency, and protecting the welfare of all market participants—align with several targets of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to poverty reduction, responsible consumption, decent work, and reduced inequalities. The scholars examined in this study advocated for market interventions that upheld moral integrity, discouraged exploitation, and promoted the common good—principles that modern Islamic finance and economic policy continue to adopt. Furthermore, this study highlights that integrating these time-tested Islamic principles into modern economic frameworks can foster inclusive economic growth and more just resource distribution, both of which are crucial to sustainable development. The research affirms that Islamic economic thought, when contextualized within current global goals, offers a normative framework that balances material progress with moral accountability. Overall, this study argues that a renewed application of classical Islamic economic wisdom can offer practical and ethical solutions to modern financial and social challenges, and can significantly contribute to realizing the SDGs in both Muslim-majority and global contexts.

Abstract

Financial Financial management plays a crucial role in enabling families to plan, allocate, and control their finances effectively, thereby supporting long-term financial well-being. This study aims to examine and analyze the direct and indirect effects of lifestyle and income on financial management, with financial literacy serving as a mediating variable, among married women aged 19 to 24 years in Klaten Regency. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The study population comprised all residents of Klaten Regency, totaling 1,302,648 individuals. Using the Slovin formula and specific criteria—married women within the specified age range—a sample of 100 respondents was obtained. Data analysis was conducted using Smart PLS 4 software to evaluate the structural relationships between variables. The findings indicate that lifestyle has a direct and significant effect on financial management but does not significantly influence financial literacy. Conversely, income does not have a significant direct effect on financial management, yet it significantly influences financial literacy. Furthermore, financial literacy has a direct and significant effect on financial management. Mediation analysis reveals that financial literacy successfully mediates the relationship between income and financial management, but it does not mediate the relationship between lifestyle and financial management. These results highlight the importance of improving financial literacy as a pathway for enhancing financial management, particularly for individuals with varying income levels. The study contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence on the role of financial literacy as a mediator in the context of young married women, offering valuable insights for policymakers and financial education practitioners aiming to foster financial well-being in young families.

Abstract

This study introduces EduFarm, an educational innovation that integrates urban farming into the learning process to enhance students’ knowledge, technical abilities, and awareness of sustainability. The initiative responds to the limitations of conventional education, particularly the lack of experiential and practical learning in many institutions, including MARA Junior Science College (MRSM). Students often experience a disconnect between academic content and real-life applications, especially in areas related to nature and sustainability. The aim of this research is to investigate how urban farming, when combined with educational technologies, can improve students’ technical and cognitive skills in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The research design includes both pre-class and in-class activities, supported by structured assessment templates for students and teachers. A key hypothesis will be tested to determine the relationship between engagement in urban farming and the development of technical and thinking competencies. Data will be analyzed using SPSS regression tools, focusing on t-values and p-values to evaluate statistical significance. It is anticipated that urban farming will positively influence both sets of skills, offering a tangible and interactive educational experience. The findings are expected to demonstrate that integrating hands-on farming practices with modern pedagogical strategies fosters more engaging, relevant, and impactful learning. Moreover, EduFarm is projected to offer a scalable and sustainable model that enhances student outcomes not only academically but also personally, by cultivating real-world problem-solving abilities and environmental responsibility. This model could serve as a transformative approach in diverse educational contexts, bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical, life-oriented education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of work motivation, leadership, and organizational culture on employee performance at the Pracimantoro Community Health Center, Wonogiri Regency. The research adopts a quantitative approach, utilizing primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to all 37 employees of the health center, who simultaneously serve as the sample of the study. The variables analyzed include work motivation, leadership, organizational culture, and their relationship with employee performance, measured through multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS for Windows. The results indicate that work motivation has a significant and positive effect on employee performance, suggesting that employees with higher levels of motivation are more likely to achieve better work outcomes. Conversely, leadership and organizational culture do not exhibit a statistically significant influence on performance, implying that in this specific organizational setting, these factors may play a lesser role or be mediated by other variables. These findings highlight the importance of implementing targeted strategies to boost work motivation, such as providing fair incentives, fostering opportunities for career advancement, and creating a supportive and engaging work environment. By enhancing motivation, organizations can potentially improve the quality of services delivered to the community. Additionally, the study underscores the need for continuous employee development programs to maintain high levels of performance in public health institutions. Future research is recommended to expand the population scope, include comparative analyses across different community health centers, and explore additional variables such as job satisfaction, workload, or employee engagement. This would enrich the understanding of performance determinants and offer more comprehensive insights for policy formulation in the healthcare sector.

Abstract

The development of social media has changed how consumers, especially Generation Z, receive information and make purchasing decisions. One element that plays an important role in this process is User-Generated Content (UGC), which is content created by ordinary users, not by brands or companies. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of UGC in influencing Gen Z's purchase intention by examining seven main dimensions, namely Source Credibility, Content Quality, Emotional Appeal, Perceived Similarity, Engagement Level, Platform Trust, and UGC Frequency Exposure. The method used is a quantitative approach with a survey technique on 100 Gen Z respondents who are active on social media and have been exposed to UGC content related to products or services. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression through the SPSS application to test the effect of each independent variable on the dependent variable, namely Purchase Intention. The results of the study showed that Platform Trust and UGC Frequency Exposure had a positive and significant effect on Gen Z's purchase intention. Conversely, Content Quality and Engagement Level showed a negative effect on purchase intention. Meanwhile, other variables such as Source Credibility, Emotional Appeal, and Perceived Similarity had a positive but insignificant effect. These findings confirm that trust in the platform and frequency of content exposure are more important determinants of Gen Z purchase intention than content quality or social interactions alone. The results are expected to provide strategic insights for marketers in designing more effective UGC-based campaigns to target the Gen Z segment.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of emergency funds on the financial well-being of families in Sentul Village, Gringsing District, Batang Regency, while exploring the moderating roles of digital financial literacy, investment behavior, and financial adaptability. Drawing from a narrative literature review, the research emphasizes that digital financial literacy significantly enhances financial resilience, despite rural limitations in infrastructure and access to formal education. The investment behavior score reveals nuanced relationships with financial conditions, showing that villagers often rely on traditional physical assets as a contextual strategy for managing financial risk. The financial well-being index reflects a multifaceted construct shaped by both objective economic indicators and socio-psychological dimensions. Importantly, financial adaptation behavior emerges as a strong moderating factor, helping families maintain stability and well-being amid economic fluctuations. The study makes a theoretical contribution by integrating Financial Behavior Theory with the financial well-being framework within the rural Indonesian setting, offering a more comprehensive understanding of how rural households cope with financial challenges. In terms of practical application, the research suggests the development of digital financial literacy programs tailored to local culture, the design of hybrid financial products that combine traditional practices with modern tools, and the integration of emergency fund systems that align with local economic realities. Moreover, the study advocates for a collaborative approach involving communities, local institutions, and policymakers to build a sustainable financial resilience ecosystem for rural families. By focusing on the interplay between digital knowledge, behavioral adaptability, and contextual financial practices, this research provides insights into strengthening the financial foundations of rural households in a way that is both inclusive and responsive to their unique socio-economic environments.

Abstract

The development of organic rice agribusiness is a strategic effort to achieve sustainable food security in Pringsewu Regency, Lampung Province. This study aims to analyze the production potential, institutional support, existing challenges, and market opportunities for organic rice development. The research highlights that rice productivity in Pringsewu is relatively high, averaging 5.68 tons per hectare, indicating favorable agroecological conditions. However, the certified organic farming area remains very limited, covering less than 15 hectares, which constrains the scale of production and the ability to meet growing market demand. Institutional aspects reveal that farmer groups and agricultural extension agents have demonstrated active participation in promoting organic farming practices. Nevertheless, institutional integration, coordination among stakeholders, and the establishment of sustainable value chains remain suboptimal. This lack of synergy often slows the certification process and limits collective marketing strategies. From a market perspective, organic rice presents promising prospects, with an annual demand growth rate estimated at 15–20%. The premium price of organic rice compared to conventional varieties provides significant income incentives for farmers. Despite this, several challenges must be addressed, including the complexity and cost of organic certification, limited supply continuity, and inadequate post-harvest infrastructure. Without targeted interventions, these barriers may hinder the expansion of organic rice agribusiness in the region. The study concludes that the success of organic rice agribusiness development in Pringsewu will largely depend on strengthening farmer institutions, enhancing policy coordination between local government and related agencies, and improving access to domestic and export markets. Strategic investments in certification facilitation, infrastructure development, and farmer capacity building are essential to accelerate the transition toward sustainable agricultural practices and to secure the region’s contribution to long-term food security.

Abstract

Money politics in elections is one of the serious problems that threaten the quality of democracy in Indonesia. This practice not only undermines the principles of fairness and transparency in elections, but also weakens the accountability and integrity of the government system. This study aims to analyse the factors that drive money politics and its impact on democracy. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach, based on literature review and secondary data related to money politics in elections. The results show that money politics is driven by various factors, including patronage culture, weak law enforcement, low public political awareness, and economic inequality that makes people vulnerable to vote-buying practices. The impact of money politics is detrimental, including the distortion of political representation, the emergence of corrupt governments, and weak public trust in the electoral system. To overcome this problem, synergy is needed between the government, EMB, law enforcement agencies, political parties, and civil society in strengthening regulations and law enforcement. In addition, more intensive political education is needed to increase public awareness of the dangers of money politics and encourage active participation in creating clean and democratic elections.
