Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of social identity in the digital da'wah content of the Risalah Amar account, which focuses on humanitarian issues in Palestine. This study uses a sociolinguistic approach, incorporating Hymes' (1974) theory of the SPEAKING model, Halliday's (1978) theory of language functions, and Hall's (1997) theory of social representation. The method employed is descriptive qualitative, using observation, note-taking, and documentation techniques for data in the form of videos, captions, and audience comments on Instagram. The results show that the language in Risalah Amar's da'wah content functions as a means of constructing a social identity that represents religious values, humanitarian solidarity, and global awareness. The choice of religious terms such as "syuhada" and "Ashabul Kahfi" serves to reinforce spiritual and ideological meanings. Furthermore, audience interaction in the comments section reflects the emotional involvement and collective solidarity of Muslims with the Palestinian issue. Thus, digital da'wah serves not only as a medium for disseminating religious values ??but also as an arena for constructing social identity and transnational solidarity through linguistic and symbolic practices in the digital space.

Abstract

This research aims to deeply explore the interest in learning Arabic among santri and its implications for Arabic speaking skills at Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Blokagung. This research uses a qualitative approach, with data collected thru in-depth interviews with students, teachers, and the head of the pesantren, as well as participant observation in the dormitory environment and daily language activities. The research findings indicate that the interest in learning Arabic among students at Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Blokagung is influenced by internal factors, namely self-awareness of the importance of Arabic as a key to understanding the Quran, Hadith, and classical Islamic texts, as well as basic experience in speaking Arabic. External factors include interactive learning, inspiring teachers, and an environment that supports communication in Arabic. High interest in learning is characterized by the courage and fluency to communicate without fear of making mistakes, even with limited vocabulary, as well as the initiative to communicate in Arabic anytime and anywhere. Conversely, students with low interest tend to experience anxiety and passivity in speaking, as well as limitations in using vocabulary. High interest in learning Arabic among students has a direct and significant impact on improving their speaking skills. Students with high interest will proactively seek opportunities to speak, both inside and outside the dormitory, because courage and confidence are the main assets for students to speak Arabic fluently. However, the main obstacle is the unsupportive environment for students who do not live in Arabic language dormitories, resulting in a limited vocabulary for daily communication.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the essential challenges and problems in translating scientific texts based on Al-Dilālah (semantics) into a target language. The primary focus of this research is to explore the linguistic and cultural barriers that arise when transferring technical meanings from the linguistic scholarly tradition into a global context. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach, where data were collected through an examination of Al-Dilālah scientific documents and analyzed using content analysis techniques to map existing translation issues. The findings indicate that the primary complexities lie in precise word choice, structural adjustments, and interpretive dilemmas related to historical-cultural meanings. As a solution, this study formulates strategies involving translators who possess a profound understanding of the source culture to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the original meaning. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of more effective and accurate translation methods for scholarly texts rooted in linguistic sciences.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between students’ attitudes toward learning Arabic grammar and their level of understanding of transitive and intransitive verbs, a linguistic area that has received limited attention in experimental research. The study employed a quantitative, descriptive correlational approach and included the entire research population, consisting of 83 male and female final-year students enrolled in an Arabic language course at Universiti Teknologi MARA. A census sampling technique was used due to the small and easily accessible population. The study utilized a structured questionnaire comprising four sections: demographic data, level of verb usage, level of grammatical understanding, and students’ attitudes toward learning grammar. The overall Cronbach’s alpha coefficient (0.89) indicated a high level of reliability. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed that students’ attitudes toward grammar were high (M = 4.22, SD = 0.67), as was their level of grammatical understanding (M = 3.81, SD = 0.81). Pearson correlation analysis showed a moderate to strong positive relationship between students’ attitudes and their level of grammatical understanding (r = 0.66, p < 0.001). This study contributes by providing quantitative empirical evidence linking psychological attitudes with grammatical achievement in the context of Arabic language learning—an area that still lacks sufficient field-based research, particularly in the Malaysian educational setting. The findings recommend the adoption of interactive, technology-supported instructional strategies to foster positive attitudes toward Arabic grammar. The study also calls for future research to explore additional variables, such as language anxiety, learning strategies, and the impact of technology on the development of learners’ grammatical competence.

Abstract

Previous studies have generally examined the narrative of Isra' and Mi'raj from historical or jurisprudential perspectives, leaving a distinct research gap regarding the linguistic aesthetic dimensions of classical religious prose. Addressing this, this study aims to analyze the classification and rhetorical functions of the As-Saja’ (rhymed prose) stylistic device in the book Nurul Wahhāj fī Qiṣṣōti Isrā’ Wal Mi’rāj. This descriptive qualitative research employs a balaghah (rhetorical) approach focusing on 'Ilm al-Badi’, utilizing content analysis on the primary manuscript. The results identified 141 forms of As-Saja’, comprising Mutharraf (77 data), Mutawazi (56 data), and a minor portion of Murashsha’ (8 data). The dominance of Mutharraf and Mutawazi demonstrates that the author integrated rhyme as a systematic rhetorical strategy, not merely as a decorative ornament. In conclusion, As-Saja’ crucially functions to guide reading intonation, reinforce the retention of religious messages, and establish phonetic cohesion that optimizes the spiritual impact on readers

Abstract

This study examines the role of Arabic in building solidarity on social media X through the hashtag #غزة. Social movements, identity representation, and media narratives have been widely researched, but little attention has been given to how Arabic functions as a medium for unity and empathy in the digital space. Arabic is not only used as a means of communication, but also as a medium for solidarity. This research was conducted using qualitative methods through a netnographic approach over eleven months (January-November 2025). Data was collected through observation, documentation, selection, and classification of posts using Arabic language related to Gaza. The analysis was carried out using Teun A. Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis model, which covers the dimensions of text, social cognition, and social context. The findings of the study show that Arabic manifests mechanical solidarity through religious collective consciousness and organic solidarity through role differentiation in humanitarian action. This study recommends the integration of humanistic values in Arabic language education so that learning is oriented towards social and moral awareness

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of integrating the Community Language Learning method and the Think Talk Write strategy in developing maharah kalam (Arabic speaking skills) through a systematic literature review of scholarly publications from 2020 to 2025. The main problem identified is students’ low fluency and lack of confidence in speaking Arabic, which stem from speech anxiety and insufficient cognitive structuring in the language production process. The research employs the Systematic Literature Review method, encompassing stages of exploration, selection, and thematic synthesis of fifteen peer-reviewed articles indexed in SINTA, DOAJ, and Google Scholar that are relevant to the implementation of Community Language Learning and Think Talk Write. The findings reveal that Community Language Learning effectively reduces the affective filter, enhances motivation, and fosters a humanistic and supportive learning environment. Meanwhile, Think Talk Write strengthens idea planning, speech cohesion, and linguistic production skills through the sequential phases of thinking, discussing, and writing. The synthesis of results indicates that the integration of these two approaches produces a significant affective-cognitive synergy: Community Language Learning mitigates emotional barriers, while Think Talk Write optimizes cognitive readiness and utterance structuring. This combination consistently enhances students’ fluency, coherence, and oral participation, although grammatical accuracy improvement still requires additional corrective feedback. It is concluded that the integrative model of Community Language Learning and Think Talk Write is a viable and innovative pedagogical framework for reinforcing the teaching of maharah kalam in a communicative, collaborative, and sustainable manner
